Has anyone still in or otherwise heard anything about JWs think we only have 12 months before Armageddon?

i’ve noticed a change in family attitude recently, like there is just something extra on their mind.

i even had to call my brother to check if he was dying and too scared to tell me.

anyway, i saw a video last night my saying jws think we only have 12 months left before armageddon so thought maybe this is the reason for changes attitude.

most of the witnesses i knew never really talked about sex.

whatever couples did was pretty much kept quiet.

every once in a while a wife might complain to the elders or a friend that the husband is too demanding or even immoral because of the sex practices the husband wanted.

Any religious or social group that gives rules to normal body functions alters the functional view of such functions.

However, "normal" is defined by what the majority practices.

all of us who lived under those influences are biased at some level until we identify the processes

we havent entered the science era yet. the majority is just enjoying their technology without wondering... or caring to know, how, when and where.

although this is not a jw thing, the netflix co. is running a new show called "the great hack"- it relates back to 2015 pre trump era/ obama involved with the cambridge analytica group about how inserted these companies are in our lives.

anyone in the world, especially targeting the us- has 2000-5000 points of interest about them, enough to sway their thinking on any specific subject - this covers the us election tied to brexit, to bannon, to breitbart and tied to rise of hate, this company worked with biggies, facebook, google, etc to release personal information to cambridge -- talk about gerrymandering!

they targeted the fence sitters in the 2016 election and promoted ads that "pushed" voters to vote in a specific way.

cults are famous for controlling information about people, places and events which are embarrassing to their self-myths.in my experience from the beginning of my personal contact with jehovah's witnesses - i knew next to nothing at all.

i was in elementary school in the 6th grade, age 12. a school chum who was a jw befriended me and the indoctrination began straightaway!it took all of 6 years of studying and attending meetings before i agreed to be baptized on a date very easy to remember: it was november 23, 1963 - the day after president john f. kennedy was murdered a few miles away in dallas.

(during the convention i attended - not a single mention of assassination or kennedy or his family was spoken.

prior to 1990 - as witnesses, we were frequently told about our poor mexican brothers who weren't "allowed" to use any literature out in field service, and how they weren't allowed to sing songs or use the bible at meetings.

they had to use code language like "the symbol" instead of baptism.

oh the persecution!

i lived in mexico during all that bull crap!... I remember coming to the US and going to meetings.... they still look at our family as mexicans.

Elders still look down on illegal JWs coming to the US...

I remember it pretty well.

it is said of drunken behavior "i didn't know what i was doing - i was drunk.

" as if alcohol makes people do things against their own character and temperament.. .

i've known just a few alcoholics in my lifetime.

although i agree that politics are similar to religion...

alcoholism and being drunk are not the same. you can get drunk without being an alcoholic... or be an alcoholic without getting drunk.

alcohol does not show who you really are... is the opposite. alcohol affects your ability to think correctly, to control your behavior, the speed of your actions, your memory. it disables your rational thought and all you have left is your primitive behavior.

any human being will go though the same stages if they consume large amounts of alcohol. the behavior of a drunk person is not the behavior of the real person... is the behavior of their main thought and action processor confused/slowed down by drugs.

politics behavior is the result of emontional reactions to accumulated implanted ideas...influenced by ignorance.

if we all want to live long and in peace....why can't we agree on the method? religion has to do a big deal.
