on page 3 the question box asks: what should you do if directed to stop preaching?.

the answer?

"in some instances, police have approached publishers who were sharing in some form of the ministry, informed them that they were violating the law, and directed them to stop.

Anyone remember Nancy Yuen?

Oh yes I remember her experience. I was so sad reading it, I thought at that time she had really a strong faith!

Later I realized that she was only stubborn in obeing to the Watchtower and did not realize she was loosing her life, her children, her husband...specially the young age of the children doesn't come back...not even a husband, even a patient one would be discouraged!

This 'package' of men who direct the Watchtower, who steal our time, our resources, our life, did they ever apologize for the damage they caused to her life? Shame on them!

MY BROTHER-IN-LAW HAS DIED

this is one post i had always hoped i would never have to do, but after a long and brave battle, my beloved brother in law has died.

i have done a couple of threads on this in the past, so many of you know the battles he was facing.

he had been diagnosed earlier this year with myelodysplastic syndrome and the mortality rate of this disease is quite high.

I'm so sad....thanks for sharing your feelings about your brother in law, he must have been a real GOOD men! Wish lot of strenght to your sister and you.

So sad to realize that the Watchtower looks only to the propaganda during the talk instead of caring for the beloved one who just left!

Breaking News: Big Trouble with the Watchtower

a couple of weeks ago, an ex-bethelite(10 years) by the name of mel smith was disfellowshipped.

i understand that he still lives in ny are and has a mortgage company.

evidently, he was hurt while serving at the farm and watchtower did some horrible things to him.

This is in fact the way the Watchtower acts! No respect for the dignity of the brothers!

My husband received from the elders a registered/certified letter from the elders, 'inviting' him for a judicial committee. We were on vacation, the letter was held by the post office waiting for my husband to pick it up and SIGN, then the post office informs the sender that the letter has been effectively received! OK? Well, my husband took and signed for the letter to the post office on the 5th, the b......ds had announced already on the 4th that he was disfellowshipped, without even give him the opportunity of the 7 days appeal-committee (is it the way you call it???).

" (1 pet 2:17) there may be a proper time and place for some actions that would be inappropriate at a christian meeting.

(eccl 3:1) for instance, suppose someone sought to have all in a group link arms or hold hands during prayer.

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome, for the encouragement for my language skills, thanks for the suggestions on how afford this issue with my family members.

I have to underline that my husband (super-elder during almost 30 years) realized who really was the Watchtower after a conflict lasted more than 2-3 years with the CO, the local Bethel, and the local elders, after so many unsleeping nights and tears and sufferings.

Our adult children, lost their trust in the organization during that period and left the organization even a few months before us. One of them has recently been dsf without even be INFORMED. The others sent their disgusted (because of the disgusting way they treated their father after a life of dedication to the WT) dissociation letters a few months ago.

One member of my family, when I tried to say a few discrediting thoughts about the organization once, told me: Listen: We do not like you talk in this way of the organization, so you keep your thoughts for you, and we keep ours…and this is valid for the whole family…..

So, I try to act in this way: I do not talk about the organization…..not even to tell them that my husband and sons are disfellowshipped!

It seems to me, that they are aware we do not attend anymore the ‘spiritual activities’, but they prefer NOT TO ASK and NOT TO KNOW so that they are not obliged to take decisions about us: shall we greet them, receive them, meet them or not????? Do you understand`?

We will see how the events will turn in the future…but I’m almost ready to answer.

Hi everybody,

I decided to join the group though I’m reading this forum since years now. I almost know you all….by nickname I mean….

My husband joined you a few years ago already. But I do not feel so ‘free of speech’ because English is not my mother tongue, but I read a lot English books, have some relations with English speaking people, have a nice friend who is active on this forum and very known (because of her discoveries), so I will try to do my best. I’m leaving in one of the French speaking country in Europe.

My husband is disfellowshipped since a few months, but before that, when he felt that things were moving with the elders after years of fading, he provoked a big mess between the local JW by sending almost 500 letters and e-mail to JW explaining the reasons of his fading.

But I’m still a witness, namely I have just the ‘label’, but not attending since 4 years now. My problem is the usual JW’s problem: the family! My family, though leaving far away are all devote witnesses and I still have not explained to all of them the reasons which brought us to take such a difficult decision after more than 50 years of attendance!!!!

For the time being, I’m thinking to which arguments would be the most acceptable to them. I’m collecting arguments, sentences, reasoning, quotations, in order to write to them all, a long letter.
