Living Alone - Love it or Loathe it?
by Crumpet inwell i have been living alone now for a week for the first time in about 6 years and apart from one or two minor episodes i am really really enjoying the freedom of it.
i feel like a weight has been lifted.
i feel free again - a tiny bit lonely at night - but mostly i think i've recaptured that long lost spring in my step.

I lived alone from age 19 to 26 and toward the end, I hated living alone. I hope I never live alone again. I feel complete now, whereas before, it always felt like something was missing.

one hall, midtown had over 80 bethelites there.............. 3 old ladies 4 kids and a dog.
odds of getting a home cook meal on sunday 0%.

Mini vans are great for out in the country field service. 7 people setting in a van and very few houses to knock on. As long as the air conditioner is on, it is about as good as field service gets.
New Boy, you are a cool person and a jay hawker... coincidence? I think not.

Establishing a household budget....anyone good at it?
by onlycurious inwe are going to be building our first home this fall or next spring.
kind of depends on the finances because all the prep work with the septic, utilities and retaining walls has really put a dent in our savings.. in the meantime, i did a little quick analysis on our spending habits and found that we spend on average about $1000.00 on food a month for a family of 6. one of them is a baby.. so, we need to bite the bullet and draw up a budget because this is ridiculous!.
so, can anyone offer advice on the simplest way to do this?

What a cute family you three make. Best of luck with it! Let me guess, your Dad probably has nothing to do with his grandchild too.

My family spends about $500 per month for food and there is 3 of us, so your food bill seems about right. I doubt you'd be able to cut more than $100 from that. There could be one way to cut the food budget...
Oatmeal or Malt-O-Meal for breakfast
Hotdogs or balogna for lunch
Some sort of cassarole for supper
Repeat every day until you could just die from the lack of variety

My Bethel Experience Part 11
by new boy inmore about cars and n.y.c.. back then hundreds of cars were stolen, in the city everyday!
the new york post said "the average life span of a corvette (sports car) parked on the street was 24 hours!
"...........one time coming back from r.i at 2:00 a.m. i took a wrong turn in the south bronxs.........not a place you would want to be in, that time of night............as i was driving around trying to find my way back to the express way, i could see the sparks form the cuting torches, people cuting up the cars they stolen the day before..........i was praying "please god get me out of here".

Calvin Chyke hauled him into his office one day and told him, that he was a disgrace to the organization..........and how dare he put on his truck "KEEP ON TRUCKING"............when EVERYONE knew that REALLY meant KEEP ON F....KING! Oh.........those brothers they just love to have fun with us. There are two types of people in the "Lord's house" the testors and the testies.
So that's what "Keep on trucking" means... I'd like to thank the Watchtower for finally teaching me something.
