  i guess they think that this illustration will make people pioneer.. .

  some brothers wonder, why should i pioneer?

  they reason, jehovah is merciful, and there will be many who are not pioneers that will make it into the paradise.. .

  The story is just plain stupid. As already mentioned, a pioneer is doing the exact same thing as a publisher, only more. So it is not a different load, but more of the same. Fortunately, for whomever came up with this story, that the intended audience isn't smart enough to pick up on that.

  Here's one that works.

  Lets say I have two light bulbs. One is a ten watt and the other is a 100 watt. Both produce light when electricity is applied. Now if the 100 watt gives off the same amout of light as the 10 watt, it needs to be thrown away. But if both light bulbs are producing light to their potential, then both are useful. So as true christians, Jehovah will throw you away if you don't produce to your potential! Now get out there!

  who remembers the jw term "dont worry he'll die at armagedon" they'll die at armagedon".

  whilst witnessing it was a term (or something similar) as a child i heard quite ......often even co's..................... .

  also i remember judging weather the person we had just spoken to at the door was infact demonised.................. "did you see it in his eyes he was definatley demonised" or "that person back there is into spiritism".

  Do you attempt to set a new years resolution or several?

  In the past, I have not. This year is different, I guess. My wife and I decided this is the year we get serious about our personal gluttony of stuff. We're hiring an auctioneer in the early Springtime and selling off items that aren't clothing, essential cooking items, our cars, or our house. As the going out of business sales say, "Everything must go!" Sure we're keeping other things too, but I think you get the idea.

  To start this process rolling, I have been working on moving all remaining tapes of movies to DVD. DVD discs take up less room and are much easier to store. I'm having a little trouble with the ones that are copy protected, so if you have a suggestion, I want it. I'm thinking about trying to copy the copy protected tape to another tape and see if it will then copy to DVD.

  A second resolution is to continue to pay off debt. I think by May I will have the Sallie Mae student loans gone. That will leave about 16 more months to go on the rest of our debt.

  What do you think and what are your own personal resolutions?

  I'm speechless. Nice job setting up Watchtower-like paragraphs with questions!

  In case nothing happens in 2112.5, you can always use another S-word, Satan and his mark of 666. Half of that is 333. So 3+3+3=9. Then add 9 to your 2112.5 and your new armageddon date is not 2121.5!

  We could keep introducing new light as it is revealed to us forever and ever! Praise Jehovah for his food at the proper time!

  Anyone want to try their hand at deriving Armageddon in the year 2525?

  That's easy, take the Watchtower 2520 they add to 607 BCE and just add it to the year 0005 CE. Did anything important happen in the year 0005 that we can tie it to? Did Jesus get potty trained in that year?

  I can't agree with this until you explain why you only are to use "exactly half the amount of silver that Judas betrayed the son of man for..."

  If you subtract 1914 from 1975 you get 61, then you multiply that by times, times, and half a times found in Revelation and Daniel you get 152.5, and you add that to 1975 you get 2127.5. Then you subtract 15 from that number which is precisely half the amount of silver that Judas betrayed the son of man for and you get 2112.5!

  Feel like crying sometimes- Student Loan Debt

  i went to a tech school because it seemed like a great idea at the time; i didn't even give community college a thought back then.. anyway, the total program cost something like ~$36k.

  this was 4 years ago.

  i was only 17.. i didn't learn anything, and now i have this massive debt.. the lender is sallie mae, and yes, i know they're horrible.. i am going to find out how many loans i have and hopefully, i won't have any private loans.. so, i was wondering if consolidation is a good idea?.
