I do appreciate your having this discussion with me. I have read the bible through several times but I do not remember specfic locations of text. Someone said " there is no man who does not sin". Also that "through one man sin came into the world and death through sin" and "for as in Adam all die so as in the Christ all will be made alive". These things merit the question of who could live through the second resurrection vs the plain comment that all shall live. This becomes very confusing. Is there a clear presentation of what really is to occur?

Thank you AGuest for the explaination. May I now ask about the 144,000? In your reply to bobid you state that the first resurrection will be those in union with Christ, is that only 144,000 that will live again for a thousand years? Then the rest of the dead when they are ressurected after the thousand years are judged and those not in the book are then killed again in the lake of fire? I am trying to make sense of what you say.

So.....do you or don't you want them to come after you?
by Quillsky ini've noticed an interesting dichotomy in these discussions.
as a starting point, i understand that we are all different --- there is no "we" here except that we have all been, or been involved with, jw's.
but this is interesting..... some people complain about being "hounded" by elders and shepherding calls and previous "friends" and so on.

Withih the context of the question asked, the principle of "love your enemies" comes into play. While the guilt feelings for leaving are being discarded by your own effort and the knowledge that the organization is wrong and very flawed, it seems to me that knocking the people who are still in is a waste of emotion. Each one has the right to come or go as they see fit. Once your decision to leave is made, it is useless for them to try to change your mund.

Why do people say the god of the bible is Omnisciencent?
by Elsewhere ingen 3:8,9 then the man and his wife heard the sound of the lord god as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the lord god among the trees of the garden.
but the lord god called to the man, "where are you?".
in this passage in the bible the humans hid from the god and the god was left wondering around yelling: "where are you?"..

Is not the overriding factor what he said himself " I will be as I will be" Whether he knows all or chooses not to know his actions will be as he wants, those that were able to change his mind by reasoning were indeed fortunate. How he chooses is not in the scope of mans job description.

Post YOUR obvious Prophecy for the future...if correct you can join my Governing Body!!
by Witness 007 inwhy don't you have a go at an obvious prophecy!
jesus said increased wars, earthqaukes, pestilence {obvious prophecies} but here are mine.. 1. verily i say interest rates will rise and fall like "the sea of mankind.".
2. there shall be riots and turmoil after soccer matches...see that you are not terrified, for these things must take place...".

Verily I say that thee shall see great darkness after the light fades from the sky, but fear not thou traveler, the light shall return.

What does this mean to you?
by journey-on inwhether you assign a scriptural explanation or a political/social explanation, what do you think of when you hear: "every man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid...".

It is the hope of most people to have their own home/land and not be called to war or have to fight off crime to exist. Should you have your own fruit bearing vegetation to go with that concept you are in paradise. That is something I would like anyway.

Another point of revelation is that the universe appears to be a hologram. The paticles of existence can be seen as a projection of a two dimensional field. Since time has to be relative to the speed of the particle this makes the possibility of time to be gaseous in nature (term used to make it relatable to human sense) which allows for time to be part of a two dimensional projection. The coexistance of the various fields of conductivity interrelates the particles to exist in different space time so that the same particle can exist and not exist in two places at one time. The more important question is not of time but how the conductance force is generated. The force is the question because no conceivable method can be postulated.

Mormons and rudeness
by John Doe inwhat is it with these people?
i left my apartment a few minutes ago to go pick up my check, you know, on a mission.
these two spiffy suited young pricks spot me from 200 feet away, and nearly trip over themselves running up to me.

I think challenging their belief in Jesus works best and quickly. Jesus said to preach only to those who want to hear, ask them why they continue if you don't want to listen to them.
