Am I right to detect a merciless atmosphere?
by dgp ini remember that, when i was just beginning to read about jw's, i found jwfacts (great site) and read that being in the wt is bad because of the high control on people.
i would add a merciless environment where the rules can be bent, usually against you.
i would love to hear people's opinions on this..

Did you ever go through a period of obsession with all things WT related upon your awakening?

I jumped in with both feet to learn what the theolog was because I thought that I was being told the truth. I studied every WTS book I could find. After about a year I felt like it was not possible for me to be part of this thing. There were so many things that were supposed to be that were not that I was at a loss to understand. I became so thought obsessed that I would be mentally running this stuff through my head 24 hours a day. I cannot be perfect no matter what they say and no matter what i do it was not enough, yet Jesus says "my burden is light". The gifts of the spirit are supposed to be goodness kindness love and such yet the people were no different than any other group and in fact more like the taliban than anything else. At some point I just said I can't, I went to a meeting I think it was the memorial and I just could not go in. I turned around and went home.

I know no one wants to die, but is it possible that wanting to live forever when nothing does is a bit greedy?

her response was honest, but i found that honesty unnerving.. i felt as if she'd just said to me--- "yes dear son, you are sitting on a powder keg, and yes the fuse is lit, but enjoy your ice cream cone.

The prospect of living forever on the earth ls what sucked me in. Even now that I know of the lies by the WTS I still want to live forever on the earth. I don't think that desire contains any greed at all. I was not asked before I was here whether or not I wanted to be here but here I am. No one should have the right to take that away.

God is waiting for humans to see that the only way this life works right is by the WILLING acceptance of his rules of order. It is pretty basic that if all human life were to use the rules of the sermon on the mount as a means to live and do so because they WANT to, the morass of mess that exists now will begin to change.
The problem is that there are so many people who have decided that they are the leaders of mankind because they have better weapons or more money or just because they want to they step over everyone else. If the entire wealth of the world was put to use a s a source to solve problems instead of create them, the problems would begin to disappear. The only problem that requires the existence of God is to remove death.

Why not make a true religion?

why havent you all joined together and made a declaration of independence?
why not fix it and make a true religion of peace and jesus' message?
