  Upcoming District Convention Talk/New Release

  i have just been entrusted with a copy of one of the manuscript talks to be given at this years district convention.

  the talk is entitled wearing our full spiritual armor in these last days, and will be delivered during the sunday morning session.

  JW therapist????

  i read on a facebook thread some talking about going to a jw therapist, i didnt't know there were any.

  i remember a young girl that da and my mother blamed it on a "worldly" therapist.

  knowing what i know of her family it had to be the best decision of her life.. .

  I remember a young girl that DA and my mother blamed it on a "worldly" therapist. Knowing what I know of her family it had to be the best decision of her life.
  
  Yet, my mother refused to ever take our family to one, even though to this day I belive my sister needs to see someone. We had fmaily problems growing up, but now days I think the BS she gets at 4 meetings ever week and the threat of the big A, she really needs someone with an outside view.
  Have you ever experienced a JW therpist? What would they say, it would seem that most people with any common sense would tell you tell you to leave the org if they thought that was your problem, and for many of us I think it was the problem. but if they were to be a faithful JW (and get return business) then they couldn't suggest such a thing.

  Could anyone suggest a way I could convince my sister to see a therapist now that she is an adult, active JW , but still an adult?

  a thought has occured to me that could any book at all be used in the same way as the bible?

  could people read prohceys into it etc?.

  i remember the wilkie collins book " the moonstone" theres a character in that story who belives that reading robinson crusoe can predict the future, thus he reads it every day and claims on numerous occasions that the book was correct in its predictions!.

  my wife told me that at the last meeting, the elders announced that youngsters going to the skateboarding park were no longer to have any privileges in the congregation.

  this is to prevent jw youngs to be rounded up if a drug raid was made at the skateboarding park.. also because of individuals requesting that they be friends on facebook that contain bad pictures, that anyone with a facebook account will automatically have their privileges removed.. sounds like the pharasees protecting the people by adding additional traditions upon them.. .

  Olin Moyles Ghost : you are correct. In almost every congreation I have been in the local elders had the final say in what we were allowed to do, didn't matter what was in print.

  here are two pages about beth-sarim printed the the wtbs rag the messenger in 1931. they are scans of a copy, so not the best quality but readable, just view them full size.. feel free to save them for later, so many don't belive it existed, of course this article won't say the real reason.. if i can get my hands on the copies again i will rescan them better.. right click and "save as" will help.. scan1.

  i found this while sifting through old papers at my aunt's house.

  even though it isn't a wts paper, it loooks like someone "studied" it very well.. there have been related topics in the past, but i think this goes to show it is not just jws.

  the second page has a wonderful graph that i think says more than the article.. .

  I was asking myself the same thing.

  Does anyone remember? I thought "new light" from several years ago pushed the "seperating work" into the future..during or after armagadon i thought.

  so is this new old light that is new again?
