i was writing songs with a friend that day instead.. jws wasted no time in labelling me as an evil villain.
the rumours abounded.. i was labelled as 'a false prophet'.
If had many rumors spread about when I was a good JW, I can only imagine they are much worse now.
JWs are a gossipy bunch. The JW community is small and I think paths cross often, it did surprise me when I was about to get married after moving across he state that there was gossiping in the new cong. I was naive enough at the time to think it was isolated to my old cong. I guess that was about the time the rose colored glass of the org started to fog up.

my jw spy tells me that this is in st paul's road, peterborough.. as far as i can tell, he tells me some corporation bully boy is coming over from bethel.
so, the local jws have been tasked to clean it so it's fit for this visiting dignitary.. of course there are only a certain amount of invites available and nepotism rules.
I forgot about the AssHall here is Ga, I was out by then, but I remember my Mother getting an invite to go because she was a pioneer and worked on the construction. Maybe that is just logistics, there isn't enough room for everyone, but sad that rank makes a difference. JWs Definitely have classes and ingroups.
I have to agree Slim, we were always taught that halls were not sacred, just to be respectful but, it was just a building. Why not have each cong say a special prayer at their next meeting and be done with it.

I've seen the invite only thing before. Usually in places with mnay congs where there are more people than seats.
On the other hand once I saw a dedication in a sports arena since the hall couldln't hold 4 congs at once. I never understood the point of a dedication anyway, much less one that didn't happen at the actual place. Even in I thought that was strange.

Funny that I was just thinking about that site recently and wanted to go back and visit.
I was a member there early in my exit and it to documents a lot of what I was thinking at the time. I haven't been back in a while, lurk here a lot, but just mostly laying low. I'd like to be an ex exjw but as long as my parents are alive I can't see that happening. It's also great to watch the strange chaos going on the org.

the video showing the daughter "leaving the truth" and leaving (kicked out) home has been designed to show that her life falls apart because she "left the truth".. then the video series about the "persecution" paranoia speaks about a brother who is not being saved with them in the basement "because he let fear of man etc" affect him.
then the video all about sergei's life speaks about his old friend who "let information about the truth make him have doubts" and he is no longer "in the truth" with them...and made out like it is worse than murdering and eating a kitten!.
I have to disagree that the Sonia video does not show her life falling apart. It was only because her family wouldn't talk to her that she returned.
She also appears to have a very nice house, although no mention is made of what happened to Eric, a lot is left to the imagination, and we know what a JW would imagine about her husband missing after the hotel scene and with now two kids.
There was a somewhat recent WT article with a picture of a young woman, a baby crib in the background, a tattooed boyfriend apparently drunkenly passed out on the couch. This video had none of that. I would say that except for her family shunning her, her life looked rather good in the short scenes offered.
I do agree that it was shallow showing her leaving for sex and a boy and being "stubborn" about it. They put all blame on her when she is the victim.

I was talking with my wife last night after showing her this video. In the past I have always said that I hated the ORG but could forgive the individuals. After this year, this video and the other videos, I'm having a hard time saying that anymore. It's too much like war criminals to me. At some point you can't say I was just following rules, if you can't think for yourself around this horrible display the ORG is putting on, my sympathy for you is quickly dying.
hi everyone, a bit of an update here on my continuing disaster of a situation.. (refer to my previous posts for the full story) my mom met with me yesterday for dinner, it was nice.. however, she brought up the fact that because i live with my boyfriend and how everything has gone down, i will be disfellowshipped.. i think the elders basically have enough proof of this.. due to the anonymous tipper (still have no clue who it was, i live in another town 100's of miles away from my old congregation territory), and my mom telling them.
i'm not sure when they will announce it, or if they will contact me prior.. at this point i feel so emotionally dead i don't care- on the other hand, i don't want to be disfellowshipped because i do not want to loose a relationship with my mom.
that is the whole reason i tried fading out.. .
The hardest thing i have yet to come to terms with regarding my DF is similar to what I fear for your situation.
The day before my DF my mother would talk to me, the day after she wouldn't. To clarify, she knew what was going on in my life.
I have a hard time forgiving her for that. It's simply fear of man (the org), not fear of god. In my case it was simply celebrating holidays, basically, apostasy, but waiting until the DF to cease contact.
