Looking for voices of reason
by judi8751 inis there anyone out there who still goes to meetings or hasnt been for some time.
i feel so confused dont think i want to go back, but dont want to lose friends either.. its been about 10 months since i attended a meeting ( did go to the memorial though).
been living apart from my jw husband who just cant believe it, he is well stressing.

Thanks for all the advice & coments, so pleased that I found this forum. Talking is so important & am learning so much from you all. I thought my family would say" told you so" but not at all, they just so pleased to have me back.In many was its just been good to withdraw and meditate on life, on me, on my kids, new friends etc My confusion comes from years of indoctrination......how do I forget it and move on fully? what if they are right, what if I am wrong it goes round & round.Who do I pray to ....Jehovah...Jesus...the spirit, just dont know.One minute am resolved the next am scared. How did these people do this to me ???? Just cant wait to find real peace & truth. I know I still have a spiritual need & that am a goo loving person, although for a time I forgot this.

Jwoods what you say is very insightful, when I left my husband these 'worldly people" bought me essentials for my new home, helped me to move, visited me, invited me out etc etc.
the elders said we cannot condone this so they couldnt help me......what christian love for their sister !!!!!

YKNOT.....in answer to your question it would be the worse thing I could do. This man has made me homeless 4 times, and is still in dehial over it... this good JW never worked for years but would lie to the brothers about his employment. When we went before the elders and I said it was financial abuse , they said it wasnt because he didnt withhold money from me???????. I dont really know the difference, whats the difference between not supporting your family or witholding money from them???????

Thanks for all the comments, strangely my work colleagues whom I use to view as undesirables have been fantastic, I have been to social events etc and had FUN
such good advice yknot...thanks for that. Just fed up of guilt trip. my family are really happy that I havent been for ages

me out still...its a long sad story. I was a Single-Parent when I was first contacted by the witnesses, my daughter was 6 months old....." she wont get to school" lol
she is now 25 with a 6 yearold at school

a quick search on my 2003 wt cd reveals over 14,000 references just to satan's name..what is the worst thing satan could do to a jw?
