  Another Newbie

  i've been reading this forum for a while and i felt it was time to post my experience.

  i am very comforted when i read others experiences and how similar they are to mine, i don't feel alone.. anyway, i learned the truth in 97, got baptized in 98. all of sudden i was getting prvileges, parts on the ca and dc and had friends that seemed to care about me and i cared for them.

  eventually the love started to cool off, the meetings felt like watching reruns of a bland tv show.

  Have any weird home remedies?

  i was comparing notes awhile back with a friend, about some weird home remedies we were raised with and how often they do work.

  what i was wondering, did you have any of these in your family and if so, what were they.

  i will give you a couple of examples of my own.. for a cold, my mom would mix lemon juice, whisky and honey and warm them up and we would drink this as a home made cough syrup.

  When my daughter was born she slept all day and was up all night. My Mother said she had her days and nights mixed up and to fix it I would have to flip her. (I thought she had lost it for second)

  She told me to hold her out so that her feet were touching me and to gently "flip her"(head over toe)Please do not toss your babies!!! They do not like that!

  Well anyway...I did it and low and behold it worked. She slept threw the night ever since!

  And for earaches warm some garlic oil and use it as drops in your ear.

  Oh and I use abersol when I pluck my eyebrows...no pain.

  someone i cared for has taken her own life.

  things between us were not the best lately even though i cared for her deeply, we last parted on bad terms and there wasnt ever closure.

  and please, dont ever think it is too late to change the person you see in the mirror every day.

  when you were a j.w why were you taught to not celebarte christmas?

  also is there fact behind there teachings?.

  did you ever feel left out at this festive season and what did you think of others that celebrated?

  Both my Husband and I grew up without Christmas. I always felt left out and sad that I wasn't with the rest of my family for any of the holidays. We celebrate them now. I do not make x-mas about religion at all. For us its about tradition and being together as a family.

  i find this labeling insulting and misdirected.

  i have been lied, deceived/tricked by a group of men posing as god's direct channel of communication.

  when a group of men heightens the expectations of a world change to happen in 1975 (armageddon) to its' adherents and nothing occurs and then blame their adherents for thinking such thoughts, this is outright deception.

  Since the only time I ever heard or used the word Apostate was while I was a JW, I'm going to have to say no.

  But that being said I did leave an org. so.....

  Ahhh you know what I really don't care! They can call me anything they please, just as long as they stay away.
