  Odd CO talk...ever hear anything like this?

  had our co visit last month.

  normally the guy has all the charisma and charm of ben stein from "ferris buhler's day off", but he managed to give a talk that was actually coherent one night.. here is the rough outline:.

  the theme was about the difference between "justice", "mercy", and "undeserved kindness".. situation 1: adam and eve sinned.

  "Justice demanded their immediate execution. But God granted undeserved kindness and allowed them to live another 930 years, i.e., he gave them time. During that time of undeserved kindness, Abel performed a righteous act and thus God extends mercy and will grant him life in the resurrection."

  .......so he extended undeserved kindness and had da judge and his cronies thrown into jail for apostasy.

  But then extended mercy and granted their release to live on and learn from their wrong ways and where in the resurrection there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth for those who have done bad but who did not repent.

  i remember sometime back when i was visiting my wife's kh, they sang a song from the song book that contained the words, present truth.

  i did a quick search on google to see what people on the internet were saying about this phrase.

When host Chris Wallace asked the show's roundtable to predict the biggest sports story of 2010, Hume said:"Tiger Woods will recover as a golfer. Whether he can recover as a person I think is a very open question, and it's a tragic situation for him. I think he's lost his family, it's not clear to me if he'll be able to have a relationship with his children, but the Tiger Woods that emerges once the news value dies out of this scandal -- the extent to which he can recover -- seems to me to depend on his faith. He's said to be a Buddhist; I don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. So my message to Tiger would be, 'Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.'" After a moment of awkward silence, fellow panelist Bill Kristol quipped, "Well, Brit's concerned about Tiger's soul, which is admirable, but I just made a more straightforward sports prediction, which was that he'll come back and win the Masters."

  Worldwide Report out - memorial partakers increased 871. Worldwide publishers up 3.2%

  seems the 2010 yearbook is out now in audio.

  it's reported there was an 8.7% increase in memorial partakers to 10,857 in 2009, up from 9,986 in 2008.. worldwide publishers for the 2008/09 service year increased 3.2%, to 7,619,270 publishers.. thanks to information posted by possible-san at the end of this thread:.

  Anybody Know What Presiding Overseer's are Being Told at Bethel School ?

  i guess there is a special training school going on for presiding overseers according to my jw mom.

  my elder brother went back there for a week training session .

  he explained that they are doing this training first in the united states only for presiding overseers and if it works out well - they'll implement it across the world in other countries.. apparently he stated that the training they are getting is very detailed and to the point.

  since i had nothing better to do today, i decided to finally take the time it takes to understand why dub chronology on that date is wrong.

  Is the Bible Really Scientifically Accurate?

  the society (and others) love to quote job 26:7 where it says that "[god] suspends the earth over nothing" and isaiah 40:22, where it speaks of "the circle of the earth".

  they use these scriptures to boast about the incredible scientific accuracy of the bible, proving god had a direct hand in everything written in it.. the trouble is that elsewhere in the scriptures, opposing views are put forth explaining then-unexplainable physics and geographical notions.

  one is job 26:11: "the pillars of heaven tremble.

  this is a post for all those jw lurkers out there who were once like me but probably think they are all alone and that noone else is going through what they are.... xmas day as a lonely jw is a real bitch!

  what happens is: you spend the whole day alone, knowing that all those jw familys in your area are all together today having a great time!

  if you have a family thats not jw then they are also all together having a great time... but you can't join in.... so you sit there watching tv, all the xmas films coming on... showing familys together on xmas day.... but wait a second!
