Older man marries younger woman, yes; younger man marries older woman?
by dgp ini understand that marriages between an older man and a much younger woman are a fact of jw life.
the reasons i have seen include the lack of an available prospect, of the fact that the older man has some power in the congregation and therefore marrying him is something like an advantage.
i wonder what the advantage can be, and i would appreciate any light on this (new or old).. but, how often does a younger man marry an older woman?

I think we should be doing more to understand Islam as a religion
That's a good idea. But like pedophiles and certain other creepy things, study it after it's been eradicated.

Which would be worse? The world ruled by Islam or jw's? Or the pope? Or Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid?

do they now they have to collest their magazines from Assembly Halls?
by alanv inhi everyone i regularly go onto the topix website and on one thread this was said earlier today.. found on facebook this morning:.

up until now, magazines were sent to each kingdom hall via ups.

I don't think there's anything new about this. We always had brothers going to the assembly hall for literature. That was 5-10 years ago. UPS never delivered anything to the hall.

Rev Jesse Jackson's comments - racist or not?
by UnConfused inhttp://www.essence.com/news/hot_topics_4/jesse_jackson_lebron_comments.php.
reverend jesse jackson isn't taking cleveland cavalier's owner dan gilbert's comments about lebron james lightly.
gilbert recently made headlines for writing a scathing open letter to james after the star basketball player signed with the miami heat last week.

Which side of the fence? (according to Liberal thinkers) - like I said it's like trying to reason with trinitarians, jw's, and other fanatics.
If a Democrat suggests tougher guns laws and registering guns, (the first step towards confiscation, next taxation- instead of prosecuting criminals and providing justice to victims of gun related crimes)
a Republican screams that Democrats are taking his guns away
If a Republican is told by his doctor to cut down on red meat, he blames Democrats for taking away his “freedom”
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he probably will live longer than Republicans(So what? More nursing home time)
If a Republican is homosexual, he becomes an evangelical pastor and rails against the evils of “the gay” until he is caught in an airport bathroom or a gay bar, or a gay massage parlor(if he does he deserves what he gets - for his hypocrisy)
If a Democrat is homosexual he expects equal rights under the law (thinks that perversion and degradation in any form is related to art and doesn't believe in prosecuting criminals - see above)
If a Republican is down and out, he joins a militia and doubles down on blacks and immigrants
A Democrat votes for fair wages and unions(comparing fanaticism with age old practices is a red herring)
If a Republican doesn’t like a talk show host, he shoots his TV set with a gun(I haven't heard of any reports of this)
A Democrat requests the original, undoctored video tapes
If a Republican is a non-believer, he keeps quiet and allows the Texas State Board of Education to re-write history textbooks to falsely favor Christianity,(stupid logic)
A Democrat wants history portrayed honestly and accurately and church and state kept separate as the FF favored
(The FF's wanted church and state separate - not God and state - with state in the hands of perverts and criminals)
If a Republican decides he needs health care, he doesn’t want anyone else to have it including the poor, the young, the elderly and the sick
A Democrat believes that the greatest, richest country on earth has room for the young, the poor, the elderly and the sick
(So the dem's answer is sick care which guarantees continued unlimited enrichment of doctors and drug companies)
If a Republican reads this he will forward it to his friends, his family, people he barely knows, people who don’t want it and people who have repeatedly corrected his bullshit and asked to be taken off his e-mail list,
A Democrat will shake his head in wonder at the stupidity of his fellow citizens.(won't even promote their own non-sense)

Trying to discuss reality with a new age liberal is like trying to discuss reality with atheists, trinitarians, muslims and jw's.

jesse jackson is master at getting rich off of racism.
if you don't donate to his cause, he will try to bring you down.
like legal extortion
That's exactly right - it's what the whole Democratic party has morphed into - calling themselves "liberal".
There's another word for it.
I just can't think of what it is. But it invariably involves the use of government power to bring others down.
Which side of the fence?
If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!
If a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn’t buy one.
If a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a Republican doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Democrats demand that those they don't like be shut down.
If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.
If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a Republican reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Democrat will delete it because he's "offended".
Well, I forwarded it. -

"If America does not respond, Iran wins the battle of Afghanistan. If America does respond — well, since neither the Bush nor the Obama administration responded to Iran’s interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan in the past, there is no basis to imagine a policy change once Iran’s rulers have their fingers on nuclear triggers......."
Imagine a Nuclear Iran
It’s easy if you try.
JULY 22, 2010
"It’s been said that a diplomat is a gentleman paid to go abroad and lie for his country. Sometimes, however, diplomats slip up and tell the truth. In response to a question at the hopefully named Aspen Ideas Festival this month, Yousef al-Otaiba, the ambassador from the United Arab Emirates, said bluntly: “We cannot live with a nuclear Iran.”
Al-Otaiba went on to add that, if sanctions fail to stop Iran’s drive for nuclear weapons, military force will be the only option left and it should not be ruled out. “A military attack on Iran by whomever would be a disaster,” he said. “But Iran with a nuclear weapon would be a bigger disaster.”
Abd al-Rahman al-Rashed, director-general of Al-Arabiya TV, followed with an article for the English-language edition of Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, in which he not only agreed with the ambassador, he declared the prospect of a nuclear-armed Iran “the most dangerous threat that is facing our region in a hundred years.” He called upon readers to “imagine what Tehran will do when it has nuclear capabilities!”
Al-Rashed then did a little imagining himself: Iran, he said, would soon “dominate . . . and perhaps take over” the Gulf states, the small, wealthy Arab countries so tantalizingly close to its borders.
Such an anschluss would not require tanks or troop deployments..................."
