Expecting the gasman at 10:15 I opened my front door and saw 2 JWs there. I asked:
"Are you Jehovah's Witnesses and no thank you."
"Is there anything that you have against the Jehovah's Witnesses?" the English-type gentleman asked.
"I don't know where to begin. Firstly, your policy on blood"
"Well. the situation that requires blood doesn't crop up very often these days."
"Also, the fact the Society forbade innoculations for 20 years (look it up) and your interpretation of Revelations"
"Well, it's good to talk and keep an open mind."
"No, it's not, I have sent 1600 emails to another JW and we are as far apart as ever"
"Er, okay. "
"God bless you the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost" were my last words.

When was the last time somebody proved you wrong and you admitted it?
by Terry inintellectual honesty and personal integrity depend on a fine point.
can you accept being wrong and admit it?.
nobody wants to be wrong because we have to trust your view of things to survive and prosper.

I try to follow the 10th Step of the 12 Steps which is:
"Continued to take personal inventory and when wrong promptly admitted it".
This gives me a willingness to learn and have affinity with those who were right!
However, with the resources of the internet available, it is very difficult to state a wrong fact and insist it's true! Some people have selective memories and in the case of a nationalist bigot, they will ignore any data which elevates another country in any given sphere of endeavour. They cling onto stereotypes of others. Anti-Catholic vitriol is rife and deployed by JWs who NEVER EVER admit they are wrong as they believe they ARE God's visible organisation on earth- a gross form of religious narcissism.
If a JW ever proves me wrong, I would admit it the moment I saw my error. Let me see, when was the last time a Watchtower pusher proved me wrong......mmmmm...........no.........hang on...........

It seems that my friend must have 100% certainty in spirituality; 100% assurance that his group are the only ones who are God's visible organisation. His idea of spirituality and My 12 Step Idea are 100% different. He believes in the Borg 100% because he was raised to do so and has all the other cultic barriers that prevent him from using his fine brain.

Talking to two J dubs on a busy downtown street
by ldrnomo inso im out of town for a couple of days for a software seminar.
it didnt start until noon yesterday so i took a walk down a busy street famous for its shopping and as i got to the end of the stores and the beginning of apartments i noticed two women standing on the sidewalk in front of what i later noticed was a kingdom hall.
as i started walking by giving them a smile and a polite greeting the one that was older, they were both young based on my terms the older in her 30s middle to late the younger in her 20s probably late.

I asked my JW respondent a biblical reference for his quote and he took offence at this request:
the nations will have to know that I am Jehovah
I am not disspelling your biblical quotes but merely asking for the references as the one under question is often used by JWs in their propagation. Cherry-picking quotes from the Bible out of context is a tactic of those who want to be regarded as God's Chosen Ones while judging all others.
This one is from Ezekiel 22:16which is written for the exiled Jews not for us living 3000+ years later!! : The Book of Ezekiel was written for the captives of the tribe of Judah living in exile in Babylon following the Siege of Jerusalem of 597 BC .
