  the jws are very opposed to alternative medicine, it seems.. just who were the physicans, doctors or healers of the israelites under moses and the suceeding rulers of the ancient jews?.

  your jws do seem to read from the same hymn book, oops, kingdom song sheets or whatever different term they may employ to separate them sheep from us goats.

  and like sheep, they certainly are!

  reading from prepared scripts like mindless telesalesmen.

  Other Revelation Interpretations

  has anyone read other works intrepretating "revelation" such as done by rc, baptist or lutheran scholars and also by humanists.

  the mark of a cult, i feel, are restrictions put upon the membership to only read their own literature.

  they also exalt their position which is usually: "only we have the right interpretation because only we have the "truth", consequently jws will not read other interpretations of scripture as they believe these to be "satanic".

  Advice on How to Approach JW Friends

  my best friend has started going back to meetings after a 30 year disassociation with the wtbts.

  his main motive is for jehovah to remember and resurrect him on judgement day.

  we have played a lot of bible ping-pong both quoting scripture to bolster our opposing position.

  can anyone on the board here, (not of the gb) read the original manuscripts of the bible in their original languages?

  i am reading rc theologian, ian boxall's "the revelation of saint john" in the "black's new testament commentary" seies.

  boxall a don of oxford university, includes in his work, a lot of quotes in the original greek.

  JW Pejorative Use of Words to Belittle Others

  a comment to my jw friend on the definition of doctrine and how the wtbts uses the term 'doctrine' pejoratively and mockingly to describe ideas of the people of 'christiandom,' another derogatory word.

  can anybody think of other words the jws use to attack people of other persuasions?.

  "you have a misunderstood word on 'doctrines' as the bible is full of doctrine written by the men who authored the bible.. see definition of doctrine: a doctrine is a body of teaching and the bible contains a body of teaching.
