  just before the morning adjournment in the australian proceedings the judge played an absolute blinder.. he asked the elder as in deuteronomy would the jehovah's witnesses stone a woman for committing adultery?!

  the power of the institution must never again be allowed to silence a child.. so says royal commissioner peter maclellan following his time speaking to over 4,000 survivors of sexual abuse within institutions, over half of which were faith based.

  we know 1,006 of those took place and were reported to the jehovahs witness organization.

  thats some statistic,but my question is what do you guys think the org can or is willing to do to get over the "jehovahs good name is more important than your sufferings" attitude.

  So says Royal Commissioner Peter MaClellan following his time speaking to over 4,000 survivors of sexual abuse within institutions, over half of which were faith based. We know 1,006 of those took place and were reported to the Jehovahs witness organization. Thats some statistic,but my question is what do you guys think the org can or is willing to do to get over the "Jehovahs good name is more important than your sufferings" attitude. That belief is compounded by the idea that all will be well in the new system so giving in to your woes now shows lack of spiritual strenghth.

  While this attitude prevails, witness children will indeed continue to be silenced by the ORG, never mind the problems of the two witness rule.

  Baker misses opertunity re no part of this world

  why did disfellowshipped ex elder baker not explain why the elders have not informed themselves about the royal commission ?

  mr stewart gave him the opertunity to explain the "no part of this world" doctrine, he merely expressed surprise that they had not informed themselves as if it were a personal foible of those particular elders.

  it would have been a great opertunity to express disgust at the distain and uncaring attitude the society exhibits toward its worldly neighbours, i also believe him to be out of date re superior authority doctrine ..giving creedence to the lie the jw's are good and productive members of society.

  sorry i have to remain completely anonymous about this but you will see why.

  i have first hand knowledge that geoffrey jackson of the governing body is staying with his parents in toowoomba, queensland for the next few weeks.

  he has already been in australia for a couple of weeks.

  hello to those following what is going in australia with our royal commission.. i want to let all those abused, neglected, shunned and blamed that i understand why you may not front the rc.

  the wtbts is hoping you will consider yourself an invalid complainant, because you are not or were not.....baptised.

  if you were abused at a young age and you told on your dad or the bad man that did it.......you would have been taken aside by the overseer and read scriptures about lying and being immoral; even if you didn't know what that word meant.

  I am so sorry for what you have been through. Your bravery will prevent children in the future suffering as you did with the help of the RC. We owe ALL survivors a debt of gratitude for highlighting the hypocracy of the WTBTS, its ancient backward tribal rules must be challenged by all compassionate, rational humans.

  Noone with insight can think their responsibility stopps with baptised kids only, thats ludacrous. Much love D-Sister

  i am a third generation ex witness.

  grandparents originally lured into cult in 1920 after the death of a precious child.

  Me too, I relate to that possum, nice to meet you, I also had my eyes opened by a fabulous philosophy uni course. Forever grateful to thr Open University..saved my life. I am sorry for your suffering and that of your family, especially your mum, my father too is an alcoholic. Your Dad I feel probably uses the wtbts as an emotional crutch..considering the hell he must have been through.

  PS for an inspirational humanist film watch Chris Nolans Interstellar, just saw it highly recommended!

  Fantastic article, who is this guy - he has nailed the whole set up. Mean who demand respect but are too feable minded to answer basic questions- bang on! They proudly state they nothing about the work of the Royal Commission, not because they can't be bothered to inform themselves but because they fear the Governing Body will consider it too close to an involvement in 'worldly affairs and govt agencies'

  The Governing Body are too cowardly to admit responsibility, common humanity is abandoned in the quest to promote THE FICTION THAT JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES ARE ORGANIZED BY HOLY SPIRIT AND IS GOD'S OWN SOCIETY.

  Thats excactly my thought - the irony ! If she had been a witness they would not have hired her!!!

  They obviously couldn't find a man qualified and willing to perjure themselves!

  Hmm..is that telling you something GB?! Perhaps women have got something to say regarding the best care & welfare of children!!!

  Expert witnesses are indeed a dime a dozen. The scandal in Britain over Sir Roy Meadows in the Sally Clark S.I.D.S. murder trial shone a spotlight on the tragic consequences of setting much store in their testimony.
