JW and the Sabbath

i am an active jehovah's witness.

i don't believe in 1914 and i'm tototally against their way of dealing with abuse cases.

IHi Andromeda, ( interesting name, considering the ancients, including the Jews, were and still are very obsessed with the movements of the heavenly bodies). I think if you feel that the sabbath should be kept, and it makes you feel better to observe it, do. It is [i] your[/i] life and no one has the right to control your beliefs, actions and thoughts. I personally believe Jesus' message around the sabbath, as around everything, is that love comes first. Want to observe the sabbath? Fine... But if your sick friend requires you to help her with chores.., go ahead, love is the priority.

I believe you would benefit from a book by an author called Steve Hassan called Combatting Cult Mind Control. You've nothing to loose by reading it and everything to gain. It is not against religion by the way.

please take care, there are many splinter groups that left the WT despite what they say, they themselves being an offshoot of Adventist and Millerism etc. you may find you have more in comman with them.All their predictions have not come true, Jeruselem didn't fall in 607BC therefore the GB do not have the Holy Spirit more or less than anyone else. Subtle Differences in congregations

i grew up in a very zealous congregation.

we had almost 40 pioneers with only 100 publishers.

the congregation was 100% black americans (i don't say african-american).

Grew up in the UK, quite a mixed cong. Gotta say, tho I'm white, the witnesses were a shining example of brotherly love and non racism compared to the rest of society. Many happy mixed marriages, tho very, very comman now where I live in Brixton (😍coolest place ever) wasn't so common in the 70s and 80s when there was more racism. Have to say racism amoung the people is not tolerated now, tho it exists in institutions in particular and out in the country or among the poor and ignorant.

Latest UPDATE UK Charity Commission investigation

i am writing to give you a quick update about our ongoing statutory inquiries into safeguarding and charities linked to jehovah’s witnesses.. as you may know, one of our inquiries is into watch tower bible and tract society of britain.

we opened this inquiry in 2014. watch tower then initiated what turned out to be protracted litigation against us.

Fist pump to the Charity commission, excellent. Glad the Supreme court has told them nooooooooo, kinda new they would as I doubted they could come up with a legitimate argument as to why the previous courts had mis- applied the legislation.

Wonder if they will attempt the ECHR?

Edit: we are still members and will be until the pm hits article 50 which they won't do for a couple more years.

Animals not meant to eat meat

how come animals teeth are designed to chew meat?

sharks for instance have razor sharp pointy teeth these are not to eat vegetation .

Hey Carl, good to meet you. Didn't know about the Lions in London Zoo in WW2 , that's interesting.

There are fossils with undigested animal parts inside the stomach. Not to mention fossilized predators with the teeth and claws of meet eaters. Fossils take millions of years to form, therefore we know predation has been taking place for millions of years.

if this does turn out to be the case it could have very serious implications.... turkey hovers between western freedom and democracy and an islamic hell.

europe has been bending over backwards to keep turkey on-side and promising it fast-tracked entry to the eu in return for it's cooperation in controlling mass migration from the east.. the situation is unclear at the moment but there are tanks on the streets....

Bunker Video Sparks Family Drama!

my family members are doubling down on their fervor about meeting attendance.

they are having an effect on some of my wishy washy long time inactive family.

It would be really great if he put his re- done video up for others to see....is he worried about copyright issues with JW.org?

Extreme? Yes. But I got 6 members of my family out by encouraging them to report the wrongdoing of a Branch Committee member to the JWs and the governing body. I stood back and sadly watched the Watchtower lawyers go after my family to destroy them. It took a while but my family eventually realized that god is not with these people.

Is it possible to say what the wrongdoing was?

Actually my husband is having some issues with his ( grown up) daughter ( of his divorced first wife, a nice women I know well) and he heard your sons song and sent it to his daughter to try and mend bridges! What a lovely boy your son is.

Contempt of court, case in San Diego county really disgusts me!

this case has to be talked about by ever awake jw every apostate everyone.

this case because they refuse to hand over documents the court already knows they have because they handed them over before but heavily redacted, is the icing on the cake!

this case shows thier evil plain and simple.

How is it possibly helping to protect children, our most vulnerable members of society, by digging in their heels over a point like this??

The society should bend over backwards to be seen to be co-operative!

How is this in ANYWAY respecting/ cooperating with " the superior authorities"...... Imagine if a regular publisher behaved like this in a normal court case, say, over taxes etc. It's one rule for the Watchtower Society and one for everyone else. Sick.
