Someone mentioned careers for women.
JW's love to think they're Jews anyway, so why not follow the orthodox rabbinical Jewish way? CO's
Rabbi'scover a fixed area permenantly and the *missis* supports the CO. With a glut of eligible women in the Org....all ambitious young prospective COs will have to bag themselves a well-off or hard working wife to support them. I guarantee there won't be a shortage of sacrificial virgin's to theOrgcause. -

Watchtower and Theseus' Paradox
by jwabuse.com incame across this today researching something for work, and thought it was an interesting thought when applied to wt.
with so many fundamental changes and revisions, can they even be correctly viewed as what they are perceived as by active jws?
if your baptism was an oath of loyalty to the organization, which organization?

It's the old " Ship of Theseus" paradox.
If a old ship is repaired by replacing each worn part with a New one, until eventually none of the original parts are left, is it still the original ship? Or a completely new one? Despite having the same name?
Brilliant @jwabuse!!!

Irregular to meetings, can I partake in memorial?
by Squekylive inhi friends .
i don't believe in jw doctrines anymore but because of family i have to be a jw for now.. i am not regular to meetings, and don't answer in meeting, but i report some hours so i remain as active jw now.. .
congregation knows that i am not spiritual and i don't talk to people and i don't care what they think about me.. now, i believe it's important to observe lord's supper as a christian as per john 6:53, so in the coming memorial if i attend i want to partake in the communion,.. i believe it is a sin to pass the bread and wine inspite of knowing it's flesh and blood of jesus.. it's like rejecting jesus.. so i want to partake.. but i dont consider i am anointed etc.

I don't think most people have " got" what it is your saying/ asking. As some have suggested you could observe the memorial in the privacy of your own home, put that doesn't solve the issue of what to do at the memorial.
If you feel it is a rejection/ insult to Christ to pass the bread and wine over, then do partake. As a JW in good standing they will most definitely "count" you as believing you are one of The anointed. Just let them believe what they wish.
What you must NOT do if you don't want to be DF is say you DO NOT believe you are anointed but that Jesus IS your mediator. You will be seen as rejecting WTBTS doctrine.

Individual Duds absolutely cannot learn the "truth" on their own"???
by James Mixon inwhy is it that i understand the bible more clearly today then all my years in the organization (jw)???
?many religious people believe the average person cannot understand the bible..maybe the reasons (1) they may have tried to study the bible and found it difficult, so they gave up.
(2) maybe they believe truth is subjective;so whatever you believe, that is truth for you.

The con is completed - comments from the US branch's LDC chief
by sir82 inrecently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.
it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.
he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

JW gone bad So what is a whore to do when she grows old with fewer and fewer Johns; looks used and wasted and no one pays her the attention she once received...she goes into survival mode. The bitch's days are numbered! Yay!
Bad analogy. Whores are honest about what they do, the wtbts is not.

Cofty I thought it was the opposite. I thought the Quouran stated it was *not* ok to beat your wife, even with a feather.
Maybe Jwdaughter May be able to help with this.

If the WT is a "money making machine"...who gets the money?
by NikL ini've seen claims over the years that wt is in the real estate, book publishing business and is a for profit enterprise at it's core.. can those of you that believe this to be the case tell me who benefits from all this wealth?.
the governing body lives in relatively humble conditions no?.
i've been curious about this for a while.

They use the money to balance out the needs of those publishers/ congregations in poorer,/developing countries I would guess
I apologize for not having the Awake no. to hand, but there was a piece written, or rarther bragging, that poor African brothers and sisters who could not afford to donate much cash would section off a piece of their land to grow veg for the Watchtower. These veg would then be sold at market and the money donated to the org. These are subsistence farmers who can barely grow enough to feed their families. Yet Watchtower takes this pittance from them every month in order to fund the "world wide work".
How very egalitarian of them.
