  “no one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds objectionable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family.” that statement appeared in an article entitled “is it wrong to change your religion?” in the july 2009 awake magazine, published and distributed widely by jehovah’s witnesses.. nearly everyone reading that statement would consider it to be mere common sense.

  However, just five years later, in 1952, the Watchtower Society embraced a more severe form of excommunication called disfellowshiping.

  Just to make things clearer, the practice of shunning for dissassociation didn't come into practice until 1981, as a result of the GBs desire to besmirch the good name of Ray Franz.

  Over 300 DFed apparently went to a northern U.K R.C!

  that's what i've been told by a family member (elder) who went to one of the regional conventions in the north of the u.k lately, who told me the 300 or more disfellowshipped who returned to jehovah by attending show that the end is so close, just like the final talk says..

  DarkSpliver Totally agree, given the Manchester attacks I think they wouldn't have been allowed to hire the building and let just anyone walk in. Those days are gone in city centres in the UK.

  If you include everyone not an active publisher - DF, family pressured ones and the socializers 300 is a reasonable number.

  The forgotten victims in Job

  after todays watchtower, i realised that there was a detail which i'd never noticed before.

  sometimes job's children are mentioned, but how many have noticed that job's servants were also killed.

  they didn't even have a quantity assigned to them - just treated like property.

  When Bible writers adopt stories from other cultures, they would naturally do some modification to avoid being blamed for blind copying, thus they would add things such as "Job's servants were also killed."

  Apparently that's how the song of songs got into the Bible. It was added around the time of the Babylonian captivity - it was the Shakespeare of Its day, the greatest piece of literature of the Persians so it was sort of rude not to.
  Speaking of rude, the Shulamite maidens "belly button" was one bit that was changed....it was some kind of button and very private, apparently!!!!

  "Only Witnesses demonstrate Christian Love"

  so a couple of nights ago i was speaking with a relative and we began talking about the organization.

  i had to asked her "why do you believe that this religion is the correct one?

  " they stood quiet for a second but then said that they view and feel genuine christian love, a type of love that is spoken about in the bible.

  Current JW Go Fund Me requests

  this topic was discussed a few years ago and i thought i would have a look to see what is going on with go fund me's by jws.

  i am astounded that there are a great deal more jws requesting money than there were a few years ago and even by pioneers.i've only looked in detail at a few jw go fund me requests but came across this one that i am stunned about on a number of levels.. my little maryhello friends.

  meet my wonderful girlfriend mary, a 23 year old "need greater pioneer"serving in the english field in san marcos nicaragua.

  The spleen is extremely vascular and you are apt to loose a hell of a lot of blood during surgery to remove this organ.

  Here lies the problem. It will be hard to find a surgeon willing to operate "blood free" until they have no choice and she is about to die. Which is a dilema because she needs a haemoglobin/red cell work-up pre surgery to stand a chance.

  We have come together to push for a more peaceful future and get pissed.

  It was an immediate effort to reject the narrative that the nutcase in the car was an agent of Islam at war with the Christian West.

  so my aunt hates pcs but works in a office job and uses a pc to do work she has worked there for 23 years she taking me and my brothers laptops etc and she said i have to earn it doing jw things studying listening at meetings etc.. so if it is the last time i post hear i thank you all for you have told me i wish the all of you the best life you can have.i will try to post hear this will start when im in school..

  Hey Hi, I've really enjoyed reading your posts. I hope to hear from you soon. Remember, don't get baptised whatever you do, no matter the pressure as it can and will be used against you in the future. Since you've already tragically lost your parents you really don't need to be shunned on top of that....my God.Please make a good education your No 1 goal as it's your passport to freedom and growth. Get as much support As you can from teachers, councillors and school and refer them to jwfacts.com for info on jw attitude to education, child abuse, shunning etc please tell them your situation.

  If you need any support in the future go to exjwreddit, it's a younger crowd with many in your situation and they have a section on support for youngsters loosing their home due to jw family shunning them.

  Best of luck. PM me if u need help I'm a mum of boys only 2 years younger than u and it breaks my heart. You are something special, never ever forget that.
