Always thought the only religious thinking that lines up with science in any way is Buddhism....the cycle of life is reincarnation by any other name. Wouldnt it be wonderful to Write and direct an infinite variety of life stories to live? Now that would be pretty near to paradise for me!

It can easily be proven that David Splane charted the course to 2075. Who would call him an apostate?
Well true, but only if the person lived to be 93 and was baptised when he was 10 or younger! Because remember, some of the generation have to be alive* ( Franz, the example, lived to 1992)
*edit: when big A happens, & they had to be contemporaries of the first lot

A Former Jehovah's Witness shares her me too story
by LisaRose inhttps://ww2.kqed.org/news/2017/12/16/a-former-jehovahs-witness-shares-her-metoo-story/.
when i was 23 years old, i started dating a (jehovah’s) witness boy and we’d go out to some dance clubs.
there was a night in particular where i had too much to drink.

Fred franztone Jwundubbed is not talking about merry drunk or even plastered drunk, but unconscious drunk!
Stating women, in whatever state, should consent to sex is not an "agenda".

He seemed almost... proud of me for going to college and trying to do something useful with my life.
The Parkinson's is destroying the years of indoctrination and his "authentic self" is shining through.

Go back, see your Grandpa, don't let the shunners get in their way. Tell them he's not going to "offend Jehovah" because he doesn't exist.
If they want to stop you tell social services; it's elder abuse to stop someone who is weak and Ill from receiving guests he wishes to see.

You Just Can't Make This S--t Up!
by FedUpJW ini know this is kind of trivial but i don’t want to partake in something that might have connections with something that jehovah disapproves of.
i checked the watchtower library and i didn’t find anything on gingerbread man cookies.. .

Strange
by Jrjw ina couple of times at the meetings this year we've been told that in the future we might get some strange directions from the society that might not make any sense to us.
then they've said will we show our loyalty to jehovah by still obeying?
seems a rather unusual thing to say.

OC It would seem strange all right - to give the green light to blood that has been made by human intervention but at the same time say that blood "made by God" isn't okay to be used
Wow. Thats fascinating OC, as long as its safe for them and we don't have the jw "human guinea pig" disasters of their previous bloodless/synthetic medicine tests.
I mean, wouldn't it be fantastic to know no more jw women in childbirth, babies and children will die whilst we're waiting for the cult's demise? I mean if it works? (Aren't these pharma companies fortunate that they have a ready source of patients to "practice" on? /s)
It's certainly could be the litigation free "way out" the cults been looking for.

was so surprised and disappointed to learn of this in-fighting, even more so when I became the target of the aggressive apostate vitriol.
Whilst that is horrible to hear, especially with you being newly awoken ( one good thing about this forum is the unwritten tradition that all bets are off with new posters, they should be treated with tact and respect).
However I just made a post about our disunity being our strength. We can and do have differing views, like any normal, healthy community. Uniformity is usually a bad sign in a group, but its true in the cult you loose the art of debating and so many see a disagreement as a personal attack.
Let's rejoice in our non conformity, learn from our mistakes and move on, I guess.
Susan Gaskin has just made a great video on the subject.

The Elephant in the room: ExJw disunity
by Diogenesister infantastic new video by the lovely susan gaskin and friend andrea discusses the huge variety of exjw opinions and why our supposed disunity is in reality our strength.
the witnesses will claim we cannot agree and there are nothing but fights and a lack of harmony within our community whereas they are the most unified religion who believe the same things where ever you go.
however andrea points out that this is just an illusion, there is no unity amoung jws.

Fantastic new video by the lovely Susan Gaskin and friend Andrea discusses the huge variety of exjw opinions and why our supposed disunity is in reality our strength.
The Witnesses will claim we cannot agree and there are nothing but fights and a lack of harmony within our community whereas they are the most unified religion who believe the same things where ever you go. However Andrea points out that this is just an illusion, there is no unity amoung JWs. Their uniformity of views is based on fear, conformity is the norm because any dissent will get you booted out. Forvexample the sham of the kingdom hall show of hands - when anyone not voting with the BOE is promptly hauled in the back room.
"Theyre looking for ammunition not comprehension" - a great turn of phrase from Andrea, it should be the buzz phrase of anyone meeting with two or more elders.
We also need to remember that someone not agreeing with us is not a personal attack. We need to learn the art of debating because as Witnesses it's something we never do.
And Susan is happy we are now making our voices heard and whilst it's true that not all of us like the "Hall crashes" or "cart crashers", some of them have been incredibly powerful. The whole history of the JW religion began with "Picketing",picketing the churches "Religion is a snare and a racket"! Now the tables are turned and we picket them!!
Let's keep being different to each other...we're allowed to disagree and different styles of "activism"( hate that word) will awaken different people, or even people in different cults as Leah Rimmini has demonstrated. Long live exjw disunity! I've put this post in friends, Coz I'm sure that's where it belongs.

Are they implying the 'Ministers who teach the bible' reported number is the number of JWs in that country?
I was also wondering, Incognito, if this includes unbaptised publishers including young children , as total jw's in a particular country?
Also, are women who cannot be " ministerial servants" now " ministers"? And can they now officially " teach"?
Maybe someone can explain? Also ( my pet peeve) why *Pheobe, of Romans 16.1, is called a " Deacon"
A notable woman in the church of Cenchreae, she was trusted by Paul to deliver his letter to the Romans. ... "I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae"
Deacon, of course, is a ministerial serpent. But she was doing here the job of a circuit overseer..
