Ever heard of this angel power?
by blondie inhttps://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1961047#h=16:285-23:710. we may also safely conclude that angels, god’s spirit messengers, travel at tremendous speeds.
thus once when daniel began to pray, god dispatched an angel to him in answer to his prayer.
this angel, although coming from beyond the realms of outer space, reached daniel before he had concluded his prayer.—dan.

Interested in a refresher about the anointed
by frozen2018 ini've had very little to do with jw's since the early 1990's.
however, i do try to stay a little informed on what they are up to as i have several close relatives who are devout.
i rely on this site to keep me updated.. over the weekend i learned that a couple of my relatives, a father and son, have decided that they are anointed and had some bread and wine at the last memorial.

Waton WT says Jws are "true Christians" that means translated tue anointed ones.so: all should be in communion by partaking with Christ the anointed. In John 6 "Jesus " said to get everlasting life you have to partake,
How do jws expect to get everlasting life if they do not partake?
Regardless of Watchtower doctrine (and I believe they have stated the 35 cut off was incorrect - otherwise none of the currant GB could be anointed). Also, unless there is sinning in heaven, how can there be any replacements for those who fall away since most (If not all) are dead?
Yes I think there are more anointed as JWs are becoming anxious about their religion and Jesus saying unless you "drink and eat" you have no life in you. I think they feel wrong rejecting the bread and wine on Memorial day.

Hitting the fan: CD epidemic at my Hall
by neat blue dog inyesterday my congregation met for field service and the elder taking the lead did something not so smart: he brought up the child abuse situation and the recent news articles hitting local news across the country.
he said 'you can see that the persecution is really coming' and that we should be ready if someone complains about it at the door.
(funny how it's persecution when it's us and righteous judgment when it happens to the other churches.

Do you think the Elders have been primed to warn the congregation like that, though? Makes you wonder......

You should say a workmate mentioned the Catholic Church claims the child abuse cases are Christian persecution, too [cue awkward laugh]. Might make them think.

Did Jesus die on a stake or pole?
by sweetyj inwe already know how jws will respond ( on a pole).
but i found an article that talks about jws views on how jesus died.
i didn't know that there was a time when jws accepted the cross unlike now.

idied.i just posted the above as I thought it was super important for a JW apologist to be aware of
The fact it was drawn in the early 200s AD ie just over 100 years after Christ so to JWs definitely around the time of the early Christians - in other words to JWs 'genuine' Christians - means that it legitimizes the fact that first century Christians not only accepted Christ was murdered on a cross, but that they actually WORSHIPPED Jesus.

The Alexamenos graffito
When a building in Rome called the domus Gelotiana was unearthed on the Palatine Hill in 1857, this graffito was discovered carved in plaster on a wall. The emperor Caligula (12-41 AD) had acquired the house for the imperial palace. After Caligula died, the house was used as a Paedagogium or boarding-school for the imperial page boys. Later the street on which the house was located was walled off to give support to extensions to the buildings above, and so it remained sealed for centuries.
The image depicts a human-like figure who is attached to a cross and who has the head of a donkey. To the left of the image is a young man, apparently intended to represent Alexamenos, who is raising one hand in a gesture possibly suggesting worship. Beneath the cross there is a caption written in Greek: Αλεξαμενος ϲεβετε θεον, which means "Alexamenos worships (or: worshipping) God".[3]
No clear consensus has been reached as to the date in which the image was originally made. Dates ranging from the late 1st to the late 3rd century have been suggested, although the beginning of the 3rd century is thought the most likely date.
Tracing of the Alexamenos graffito carved in the plaster.
Interpretation
The inscription is accepted by authoritative sources … to be a mocking depiction of a Christian in the act of worship. Both the portrayal of Jesus as having a donkey's head and the depiction of him being crucified would have been considered insulting by contemporary Roman society. Crucifixion continued to be used as an execution method for the worst criminals until its abolition by the emperor Constantine in the 4th century.
One interpretation is that the figure in the image has an ass's head to ridicule Christian beliefs.
Thus this cartoon is possibly the earliest drawing of the crucifixion of Christ, probably completed at the beginning of the 3rd century, ie. in the early two hundreds. It shows Christ on a cross, not a pole or a 'torture stake', with his arms out-stretched to the left and the right. The fact that it was not drawn by a Christian adds to its significance as an independent indication of the nature of crucifixion and that this was the way that Christ died.

Will directing people to jw.org actually prove counter productive?
by eyeslice2 inthere was a time when the society was very skeptical about the internet and the so-called lies and apostate information that was out there.
it sort of was something to be avoided.
over the past ten years, however, it seems they have taken to it with a passion.

In-depth breakdown of the WTF QUOTES from November 2019 Watchtower
by Fabian1 in13. according to leviticus 9:23, 24, how did jehovah show his approval of the priesthood?.
when the israelites saw this clear evidence of jehovah’s backing of the priests, they had good reason to give them full support.
5:18, 19) how can we show our support for the organization that jehovah is using?

Will the U.S. Supreme Court be RIDICULED by JW lawyers?
by The Fall Guy inin view of the statements below by the wtbts hierarchy, how on earth can u.s. supreme court judges possibly be conned into accepting jw lawyers' claim/defence of clergy-penitent privilege in the $35m lawsuit?.
if you don't have a clergy, how can you have clergy-penitent privilege?
has no one in the u.s.a. pointed out to the judiciary that they're being duped?.

ZebThey tried to pull the clergy thing at the CARC and got themselves rapped for it. The justice said (along this line) 'you deny clergy exist in your organization now you are claiming it. You cant have it both ways.'
Yup. If there's one other lawyer in the world that can follow a class act like Angus, Irwin Zalkin is the man. They're not pulling the wool over his eyes anytime soon!!
