i really like calling myself a watchtower survivor.
it is not demeaning to other people and is not a negative statement.
when a jdub sees that term it may make them think about why i would call myself a survivor.
I agree. Especially given the abuse many Watchtower raised kids go through. Kids are less than nothing in the Kingdom Hall, treated as freaks at school. You have no education and have no provision in your old age. Shunned by family and friends and made to feel as if you are a worthless human you end up with zero self worth.

This is the classic sad life of the P.O.M.i. (physically out mentally in). Cults know you will 'mess up'(read: be a normal human) and once they do members are programmed to be wracked with guilt. Indoctrinated with Fear and obligation, they come crawling back to the cult. It's an abusive relationship; with Watchtower effectively saying to its victim "you're nothing without me!" And so the cycle of abuse continues.

Do you know this affected me sooo much more than the fear of the big A. I just wanted it over with. When I was little I just thought “good. I’m so evil it will be a better world without me”. It’s awful. To make an innocent little child feel that way.
i know bad cops exist in many cities.

Whoa!!!! I’ve read some stuff about these guys. He must have been one resourceful, tough dude! All Australasian, these guys did some pretty amazing things during WW2. There were quite a few New Zealander’s parachuted in and chosen for their ability to blend in apparently these were soldiers who spoke Greek....but get this, it was koine Greek or Ancient Greek which led to quite some hilarity amongst the locals.
