Dropofyourkeylee tolerance promotes division, then it follows that intolerance promotes unity. Maybe that’s true, but it’s not a world I want to live in.
Absolutely bloody Perfect👌
the co got on his hind legs for the public talk and repeated twice "tolerance promotes division".
then backed it up by saying that if one group march for some right, another group will march for the opposite.. so jws are intolerant and proud of it.
f@@@k me sideways.. may explain that the baptism tally was 0..

we had to go off grid for a time, time and half a time as we thought we had been outed.
fortunately it was a false alarm, but it was a stressful time.
i asked for my original diary thread to be deleted in case there could be anything on there to identlfy mrs smith and i. i am always very careful when posting, and am sure there was nothing on there, but felt it best to have it removed in order to be as cautious as a dove.
Wow! What a mega thread!
Waaaaaay way way Back in Time Machine❤
Hi there! I've been here about 4 years. Woke up with the ARC fully. I'm a bit scared to read all the replies in case I see some old friends no longer with us, and I get all emotional😥
Edit: just to say I'm so glad you got Mrs. Smith out, too.
we were supposed to be dedicated unconditionally to jehovah god.
we were willing to be persecuted to the death if need be.
if it came to taking a blood transfusion or dying, we were loyal to jehovah and would be a martyr for god.
the time I liked to think I wouldn't compromise but who can really say until it happens nonetheless, however I truly believed I SHOULD be willing to die for Jehovah and that he expected it of me.
Pete Za Hut isn’t it ironic that although the Bible clearly states Jesus told Christians to expect persecution, he also states in Mathew 10 “Whenever they persecute in one city, flee to the next”
Notice it says flee? Yet Watchtower pushes the narrative you must be willing to die for the cause.
i was on the phone with a long-time friend from my original congregation north of new york city and she told me that the 'shit hit the fan' when a brother (long-time elder i know well) got remarried about 6 weeks after his wife died.. he was about 60 and his new wife (a pioneer that i also know) was about 50 and had never been married.. it became a huge issue when the co came.
due to all the talk and chatter in the congregation, he even included in one of his talks without naming names, that marriage is something sacred and that when and how people get married is a personal matter as long as it conforms to bible standards.. anyway, it shut everybody up.
any similar experiences in your current/former congregations?.
Men typically marry less than one year after the death of their wife. Women usually marry far later following widowhood.

I did refuse a blood transfusion.
Having done so, however, I knew I could not do so for my kids. The UK courts would have made my child a ward of court and taken the decision out of my hands, but I could not be a hippocrite and simply relied on that to save them.
https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/montana/articles/2020-01-08/court-reverses-35m-verdict-against-jehovahs-witnesses.
I think now their only option would be to plead to the Supreme Court of the United States
They can appeal the decision of the Montana supreme court, failing that they can then appeal to the Supreme Court of the United States. It's not over till it's over.
I believe they can show Watchtower has paid clergy (Circuit overseer) and Service desk elders, also lawyers etc
I think the main point is that it was not a confession by the perp, but a REPORT by the family who viewed the elders very much as their clergy.
Just because it is watchtower procedure does not make it comparable with normal church confessional. Whether they argue they are clergy or not, the victim has good grounds to do so because Watchtower was indeed malicious in its intent to place it's own reputation above a child's safety.
i'm going to be the first and throw this out there for others but, from careful study of the scriptures i've found a loophole that even adam who was perfect at the time missed!
i'm sure everyone has heard the conundrum about ,"can god create a rock he can't lift?
" and if he can't create one he can't lift, then god cannot do everything" well that doesn't really matter since we know jehovah says himself he cannot lie right?
Adam would have had to go without sex for 900 years😂😂😂
If he was willing to fore go that, then yes, he would have bested God and proven him a liar
The most rudimentary analysis shows this story is allegory, as you've shown
adam was told not to eat from the tree of knowledge for upon the very day of eating from it, he would die.
i had someone say that god lied because, adam didn't die that day but, the scriptures say to god a day is as a thousand years so, since adam lived 900+ years after eating , he indeed died within god's view of a day.
methuselah the oldest to ever live 969 years still within god's set time of a day.
Yup. That was the day he said it. It seems too obvious
Look at all of Jesus sayings. He constantly said to people "Truly I say to you..." this and "Truly I say to you...." that. He at no time EVER said in any other part of the new testament "truly I say to you today" did he?
Only in when speaking to the so-called criminal on the stake did he use this expression and add the "today" bit.
That to me shows he was saying to the criminal he would be in Paradise today.
are you aware of any double standards promoted by the organization of jehovah's witnesses?
here a a few i am aware of:.
1. the wts equated joining the ymca with apostasy but felt free to join the un for 10 years (1991-2001).
Found another one on Winston's channel.
They claim no one knows if a person claiming to be is indeed truly anointed and only Jehovah knows whether they will receive their heavenly reward.
Then state that governing body members who die, such as the late Mr. Barr*, have now received their heavenly reward.
* I'm not claiming this gentleman in particular has not, etc
i don't know if this topic has been covered before - it might 've been.. i also recommend flipper's excellent music thread ('what songs have you been listening to?
', or similar).. but, i'd just like to start a thread about certain songs giving me goosebumps.
y'know, when you hear a song that profoundly effects you in some difficult-to-describe way and the hairs on your arm stand on end even though the room temperature's comfortably warm.. so, which songs give you goosebumps?.
Cofty Kind of Blue is probably my all time favourite album if I had to pick.
LUHE i love love love Kate Bush. That one is special.
Fed up exjw Is that on bagpipes? I bloody love them, and I love Amazing Grace...so double winner!
JinVAI also loved Bauhaus as a youngster.
Uncle punky why so down? My husband is a muzo and he says it sometimes takes the pleasure away from critical listening. Or any listening I suppose.
I can’t post on this but I’ll have a think. Probably going to be MC5
