Wt. April 2020 Revised Joel Prophecy
by BluesBrother inif this has been posted before, then my apologies..... article in april ‘20 wt changes the view of the locust swarm prophecy...formerly believed to describe the worldwide preaching by anointed.
”simply put, these verses refer, not to our zealous preaching work, but to the activity of the babylonian army that invaded jerusalem in 607 b.c.e.”.
they also tie in the giving of holy spirit to the congregation at pentecost and thereafter.. the article is available to read in full on our least favourite website.. https://www.jw.org/en/library/magazines/watchtower-study-april-2020/an-attack-coming-from-the-north/.

So.....Jesus “Trolls” the Watchtower society again🤣
...............they’ve figured out that it meant what every historian/biblical scholar knew it meant all along.

Outcast Doctrines
by Socrateswannabe inin a recent post about the watchtower’s claim that all animals were created as vegetarians, one commenter said that watchtower could no longer sustain this belief so they simply stopped talking about it.
i began thinking about other wacky doctrines and statements by the borg that have faded away.
i’ll offer two of them below, but the complete list must be longer than your arm.. 7000 year-long creative days: watchtower once taught that each of the creative days was 7,000 years in duration, hence the hype leading up to 1975. they believed that year marked 6,000 years since adam’s creation, and oh how nicely the 1,000-year reign would fit as the last piece of the puzzle, thus completing the final “day”.

Some more of the Watchtower Crazy, baby:🤪🤪
Black people would over time turn white 🤭in the paradise, in all likelihood and women would turn in to men in heaven 🥴since there had been well documented cases of such things occurring before!! 🤣😂😂😂

JW Elder Swan Sermon

A very beautiful, gentle sermon by a gentle man.
I find some of 'Christendoms' sermons "rough" and "angry" sometimes, compared to ones Witnesses/ExJW give.

If you speak against the Governing Body you will be punished.
by punkofnice inthis was a comment from the meeting(tm) on sunday.. the person that told me about it, is very confused about the validity of the corporation.
somewhere between a pimo and a pimi-lite.
the thing that angered me was that this person has cancer.

Blues Bro I have no issue with those kind of dubs👏🏾
Punky I understand how hard it is (as an agnostic) to get one you love or care about with cancer to think for them self, yet not take away a faith that gives them comfort or strength; especially if there’s no hope of a cure.
If you have Ray Franz book you could show them the part in Revelation where it plainly states the great crowd is in the “Naos”( the Holy of Holies...in other words Heaven). There’s a great channel on You tube called “Witness for Jesus”, she’s an exjw with very in-depth knowledge who is also having treatment for cancer and is the mother of a young child.
By the way...“Pimi- lite” 👏🏾👏🏾👍🏼🤣😂😂 another exJW acronym to add to the list!!

"Fine Witness" diluted in latest experience
by neat blue dog inthe latest jwdotorg experience starts very familiarly:.
danielle, one of jehovah’s witnesses in south africa, found a bag that a customer had left behind in a coffee shop.
inside the bag was a wallet with money and credit cards.. when the owner met her to get it back,.

Great catch Neat Blue Dog!!
I’ve lived in my home for 14 years, now.
Ive lost my bag - with purse & cash, debit and credit cards, drivers licence etc - on 3 occasions during that time.
On all 3 occasions it’s been returned intact by, i’ll have it known, YOUNG people....those feckless loosers watchtower hectors so often! Twice I met them and on one occasion the shop keeper informed me who they were.
Empathy moves people to do the right thing.

Actually our congregation could have been called “The Elder (wars) Scrolls”!!
Lots of squabbling elders. Thankfully not too bad with the flock, though. Unless you were foolish enough to take ‘sides’.
Mostly arguments about not paying for car prangs....there were lots of those with a tiny car park and terrible parallel parking out on the road.
oh and one mild fisticuffs over a girl...the boys weren’t baptised (I think...)

Where is the best comprehensive NWT error list?
by Jake101 inhi.
while there are many excellent web sites that explain a few jw nwt bible translation problems, are there any comprehensive lists of nwt scripture errors online please?.
thanks .

Diogenesister
It’s a bit more complicated than simply a list as OTWO stated....although that’s a start.
The problem is, for example say Colossians 1:16-17, the infamous place in where Watchtower adds the word “other” (to infer Jesus was created) that in fact the King James has to also add the word “things” in English since there is no term for “things” in Greek.
So in a way many if not all translations into other languages “add” other words...they have to, for it to make sense.

Are some of you scared?
by BlackTwisted inare some of you scared that armageddon may be coming anytime?
lol.
just the thought and the picture in your head that anybody can get killed....>.<.

Diogenesister
Funnily enough my reaction wasn’t fear when I thought about our “Armageddon“, I actually shed tears of sadness.
I saw Sir David Attenborough’s “Witness Statement” regarding global warming and the loss of habitat for our fellow creatures, the extinctions of such animals as the white Rhino....all during my own lifetime.
Its very, very sad.

Jordan Peterson - Messiah or Poseur?
by cofty ina jp video came up on my youtube feed last week - he was on a panel in front of a huge audience and some poor disturbed guy ran on stage and started crying and wailing to peterson that he needed his help.
it was agonising to watch.. what was even more disturbing was the comments section.
i do not exaggerate when i say that dozens of people were extolling peterson's wisdom as if jesus had come again.

He reminds me MUCH to much of my first husband to even begin to be entirely taken in by this man.
He’s far more vulnerable than he makes out and is a rank hypocrite when it comes to religion. He’s rather egotistical and a true intellect would eat him for breakfast,
Fully agree he goes all around the houses(and back) to say absolutely nothing, not least when he’s asked a direct question about a subject he dare not be honest about for fear of alienating his audience. Also, loves the sound of his own,..etc
*I hope he doesn’t ever read this as it would only make his head even bigger than it is (literally and figuratively).
*the husband that is🤨
