Just to say, the victim is a believing Jehovah's witness and that explains why she would not involve the man in the case, nor prosecute him, since he is a "brother". Therefore no court has been able to ascertain as to whether she was raped (which is why the judges in this case would not officially make that claim).

It also explains why she has yet to "go public" about her court victory. Watchtower broke some very specifically Norwegian laws and @goatlikepersonality has made a YouTube commentary on the case since he knows the lady in question.

i am interested in learning whether or not the watchtower society is the only religious entity that teaches the "from paradise lost to paradise regained" idea.. the "idea" is that god's original purpose for man and the earth has not changed.

god purposed for adam and eve and their offspring to reproduce and fill the earth and live forever upon it; but the problem of sin entered into the picture and temporarily interrupted that purpose from being completed.

Allegheny Pyramid Desecrated

sometime within the last 2 weeks, someone took a sledgehammer to the pyramid monument in allegheny.

they stole the topstone, smashed the cross and crown emblem and removed the seal.. personally i'm surprised it lasted this long untouched.

although through the years russell's grave has been vandalized, it was always repaired by the bible students..

Absolutely, Sea Breeze, I think governments don't understand the power this teaching has on the psyche of a witness.

If they understood it's connection to suicide they'd reconsider Watchtower tax exempt status.

ok, i'm not one for conspiracy theories but lately i've uncovered some interesting facts that i think warrant some attention.. first of all, russell was a freemason.

all the early watchtower and books he authored have freemason symbology and art throughout them.

not a big deal i thought, until i read more about freemasons and the so-called "illuminati", a group of 13 families that supposedly control the world.. supposedly these 13 families, such as the duponts, mcdonalds, kennedys, .

so picture this, you are suddenly withdrawing troops after 2 decades in a country and, well, its all gone to shit.. how do you ensure that your vulnerable citizens and allies can get out when the airport is surrounded and no one can get through?.

option 1: it's a trick question surely?

you don't get yourself into this mess in the first place - you withdraw the citizens first, not last, duh!.

It's the airport....how did they think deserting a well defended, well stocked, massive base with every piece of security tech at your fingertips in favour of evacuating from a small, civilian airport that's impossible to defend - with half the world's terrorists on your tail - was a good idea? in a scene reminiscent of the fall of saigon, the usa embassy staff have been evacuated by helicopter.. for a third time in asia ( a fourth, if you count usa supported chiang kai shek's defeat in mainland china) usa supported forces have been defeated.

more than 1 trillion dollars wasted and a huge deathtoll (both sides) afghanistan is back to where it started,.

will the taliban behave differently this time ?

agree Hermit ... although this monument is an embarrassing chapter in their history, I'm surprised the GB did not attempt to take it down and make it disappear like so many other embarrassments.

I think there's a reason for that.....someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the land is owned by the Bible Students (or the SDA church?) So Watchtower wouldn't have control of it to be able to remove it ( though I'm sure they'd love to!)

Desecration of anyone's grave is a crime and should be prosecuted as such.

The Canadian branch lawyer for Watchtower, David Gnam, lying in court when asked if Watchtower breaks up families through shunning.

Gnam stated "we don't call it shunning, we call it disfellowship or disfellowshipping" and "normal family relationships continue with the exception of spiritual fellowship".

Gnam was obviously refering to a husband and wife or minor children living together under the same roof. These are the only very specific situations in which (normally,) a disfellowshipped person will not be fully shunned (although we all know cases were they have). Other family members - mother's, father's, son's, daughters, sisters, brothers, grandparents, grandchildren, nieces, cousins and even minor kids not living with a parent, will all be shunned.

Truth is, all US Administrations from Bush to Biden have been dismal failures in Afghanistan for the simple reason they have not addressed the fundamental reason the Afghan Army proved so useless – corruption!

Whilst I'm sure this is true, I watched an interesting documentary where the senior soldiers on the ground explained one of the major reasons it was so difficult to get a grip on corruption was the fact that none of the Afgan soldiers could read or write Illiteracy rates are some of the worst in the world. For example when the US army delivered fuel to the Afgans, to be divvied out between each platoon, each Afgan commander responsible wouldn't know if he'd been allocated 1000 gallons or 100 gallons. He'd have to take whoever delivered it's word for it. This made it really easy for the middle man to siphon off a load of fuel and sell it to the population (who were desperate to get their hands on it).

Soldiers simply being able to read chits and write receipts ensures each unit gets what it is allocated.
