  It's getting on a year since his livestream and all this went public so obviously a drop in his supporters wasn't just some knee-jerk reaction that he could bounce back from.

  Remember on Andrew Gold's podcast when Floyd Devon's said Woke "Cancel Culture" was actually " Consequence Culture "??🤨 I wonder if he still feels the same way?🤔

  Yeah...about that Vienne. It's called shunning and it's disgusting. I'll keep repeating to you until it sinks in. The majority of people who leave watchtower do so whether they are good, bad or indifferent because it's a cult.

  Jabbs The warning letters were non-negotiable and purely a part of the pre-trial process. They were not an intimidation strategy. My lawyers informed me there was no legal compulsion to send them but it would weigh in my favor if I gave those defaming me an opportunity to stop and make recompense.

  Your lawyers saw you coming mate and probably got 200 quid per letter minimum off you😂

  LMsA €56,000 in damages requires a lot of disclosure that he’s in no way ever going to allow for the simple fact that it would prove how much he’s been fleecing this community.

  I know people (rightly) get fed up with me repeating myself but this quote of LMsA REALLY bears repeating

  €56,000? That’s more than what most of his patrons earn in a year.

  But even if he believes he deserves second chance, or whatever, the honourable thing would be for him to be open about his issues with any potential collaborator and allow them to make an informed decision. Otherwise he’s just wasting people’s time.

  I'll put money on the Watchtower obtained some kind of tax break or even grant for building somewhere the talks will be given in the local native language or that the Cong is mostly comprised of first Nations people. It's probably why the thing got built at all. I know from the Crow lady poster on this forum that Watchtower obtains grants for publishing and teaching in first Nations languages. Those with a small demographic are therefore vulnerable to cult teaching (and not being able to view detractors work in their own language, of course).

  christopher chavez was a 22 year old ministerial servant and a born-in son of an jw elder.

  after a thursday night meeting and a quick bite to eat afterwards with friends at a local restaurant, he was kidnapped, taken to a gas station and forced to drive his killers around for hours while they were in the back seat.

  StephaneLaLiberte Concerning the situation in the OP, I would've tried to find an escape route or tried to fight back. But honestly, it's much harder than it sounds. Fighting looks easy in the movies but when you never ever fight and never consider it, it is much more difficult to gather the courage to fight back. So, even if we say: In the same position, I would have done this or that, perhaps we'd have behaved like him: scared frozen like deers in the headlights.

  Exactly. It's easy to say what one would do from a distance. The "fight or flight" theory is indeed incorrect because "freeze" is a far more common reaction (that I know I myself did).As witnesses - in fact all Christians - we are taught to 'turn the other cheek' and to love our enemies. How many of us can truly say we do? Almost none, in truth.My heart breaks for that poor lad. Leading a sheltered life, he couldn't conceive of the type of motivations such a damaged mind had, that belonged to the young lad who murdered him. We really need to question the background of the murderer.To be so brutalized at that young age, he must have been surrounded with violence and neglect.
  I know Witness women are taught to fight back when it comes to rape.
  Maybe we can say the witness lads background didn't prepare him for the 'real world' but how many of us are confronted with such evil? Thankfully few of us. My own husband was attacked by two lads who killed their next victim and went to prison for life. My husband is convinced his pacifist reaction saved his life. The next victim fought back and died doing so. Each crime is different to the next as Mum posted above the best thing is to use your intuition, gut feeling and good sense.

  I can read with an open mind but I am skeptical to begin with because prophecy required the land to pay back its Sabbaths counting back from 539 and 586 wouldn’t add up.

  “Hanging the earth upon nothing”

  for those of you not up to speed on the latest jw trends, one of the key scriptures the jws are using in field serve-us lately is job 26:7, wherein the writer describes the earth as “hanging upon nothing”.. this text is used to indicate the bible’s “reliability”.

  the reasoning goes something like this:.

  “see, centuries ago, people thought the world was flat, or was resting on elephants or turtles, or some such nonsense.

  I'm been given to understand that the Ancient Hebrew word "circle" is entirely different from the word which means "sphere" or 'ball' which is the root of the modern world for ball כַּדוּר (not Chutzpah lol😁) 'bôl'. I was told that the word for ball is elsewhere in the Bible, so if they really thought it was a sphere and not a circle they could have used that word.
