That's an excellent point Mark makes. He's on this site by the way as Emperor something or other. This was the book that sold me their false promise. Again no longer in print.

Bait and Switch "Bible studies"
by Vanderhoven7 inmark jones, a witness for over 30 years describes what jws call bible studies offered to the public.. .
"they (jehovah's witnesses) offer you a free home “bible” study - which turns out to be a study of a watchtower publication with the bible brought out as an afterthought to try and prop up whatever current idea the governing body are claiming is “the truth” this week.. i think it’s underhanded.. when my parents became jehovah’s witnesses and they offered people a free home “bible” study, this is what they brought to study with them:.
what, did you think they were going to study the bible with you?.

Where did Enoch go - God transferred him?
by Fisherman ingod did not take the lives of the wicked contemporaries of enoch, instead he took the life of enoch.
and that seems like a great injustice to deprive innocent enoch of life instead of killing the wicked.
—i said seems.. a man goes to get surgery but first they give him an opiate like narcotic and he falls asleep gladly and with pleasure and euphoria.

There's no way on earth Dijana would go back to being a witness. You treat her like she's daft in the head. I don't know if she's an atheist. I'm pretty sure she's not a believer in the Bible, or rather at any rate she's conversant with the anachronisms because she's mentioned some.

Why are so many Jehovah’s Witnesses Angry and Rude?
by Vanderhoven7 inwhy do you think many jws are hostile and rude?
or is that just my imagination?.
mark jones writes: the vast majority of jehovah’s witnesses are nice people.

WokenfromJWcult My thoughts are that their leadership has taken GRACE out of their bible and replaced it with Undeserved Kindmess, and this alone perverts their attitude toward forgiveness.
Van (Charlie Ryde)They consider it a strength to discard their child like trash.I am an Apostate. I work in healthcare. We take in the "Mentally Diseased" and try to help them cope. The Watchtower Organization is so afraid of their member’s weak faith, and they should be. The false prophecies continue to stack up. Time continues to tick tick tick into the future that should never have existed.I am an Apostate. I hope to save someone from having their life stolen by this controlling cult. I will accept the hatred of the many for the sake of the few.
Lady Lee When leaders dehumanize a group of people, it can give you permission to treat them as if they are nothing
Wow There's some incredibly insightful commentary on this thread -

Reason no. 1 is incredibly powerful and counts for most of it. Finding faulty Watchtower logic or bringing out hypocrisy - such as the UN membership, feels like a personal attack.
Many people say it's gotten worse and in the old days witnesses didn't have this rude attitude. I'm not so sure. I think it's more that people are more aware of Watchtower history and are better equipped to counter poor Watchtower doctrine/flip flops/failed prophecy etc these days, than they could in the past

The Last of Us
by Simon inlooking forward to the first episode of this new computer-game to tv-show adaptation that airs this sunday.. it has pedro pascal from got and the madalorian plus bella ramsey, also from got, who played the bad-ass lady mormont.. lots of it was filmed near us, some right round the corner (there's quite a few productions film around here, we get ice-cream near where they filmed scenes from interstellar).. this show is a post-apocalyptic zombie series and early reviews are that it's awesome, so i'm hoping for good things, especially since walking dead jumped the shark a few seasons ago and we gave up on it.. anyone else planning to watch?.

IIuBrevlis2000 Yes, very thought provoking that question about Henry's choice! I mean she wasn't wrong, was she?
On the other hand, if we don't value the individual and instead always put the 'Greater Good' (her brother, the saintly leader in this case) above all else, we end up with a regime like the Jehovah's Witnesses - where the individual's needs & family bonds count for nothing!
Terry Where oh where has there ever been such heartfelt humanity in a zombie script?
Have you ever seen "Train to Busan" Terry? Bloody good film.

To add to his list of negative behaviour, he also totally ripped off the idea of his second so-called "Book", How to leave Jehovah's witnesses, from The Great Apostate who published the exact same book months earlier for Free to help new leavers. -

Tibor I mean I really want people to get you know help. Whoever gets help from our channel and gets …. Some sort of idea like on which direction they should go and stuff like that because we do have a lot of voicemails and some of those are a great thing to listen to as someone who is probably just who has just left the JW organisation and you could probably get some good info
Oh for Christ's sakes Tibor. (Don't be offended if you're not an English speaker, here) but things often go right over the heads of people who aren't native speakers.
Those bloody phone calls are rarely if ever new leavers and the questions are so asinine. It's clearly boredom or to get their bloody voices on a show!! It's not "helping" anyone.
From day one Lloyd made it clear he wouldn't return calls or letters from those needing help. He only wanted to know you if you had some story of interest such as Ben Foard's or CSA survivors etc. It took Sherri to step in and volunteer to field the desperate and alone and give them a genuine helping hand. If the swine couldn't use them for content he didn't want to know.
He's a You tuber who has turned it into a business at best and a pompous assed user at worst 😡
(N.B. LMsA You're a better writer/blogger than Evans by far)

Watching? I'm obsessed!!!! I'm not a gamer (lol) I've played three games in my life with any regularity - pong, yes my brother and I had our very own game at home we played using the TV screen. Sonic the Hedgehog on my Sega, I'd dash home from college to play :) and Assassin's Creed black flag (my son's game) as well as a few other games in the series I've gotten my son.
But the game I probably watched more gameplay of than any other (as my son played), was The Last Of Us. Loved it so couldn't wait for this show and boy it hasn't disappointed.
We got to watch episode 5 early (because of the Superbowl) here in Europe. What a belter!! I'd say it was a very close second favourite episode to episode 3's glorious Bill & Frank story.
