Vintage did you noticed that website used JW.com and JWfacts.com as two of its references? Obviously a Chinese site there's no way even a Spanish or Portuguese speaker would get the gender pronouns so confused - even mid-sentence at times!

Wow no wonder Spillane was allowed to continue writing those sort of books if he contributed to watchtower as any kind of percentage of his wealth. I'd say he's probably the richest JW there's ever been. Including the Williams and Jackson's combined!

Also some interesting characters such as a boxer who converted as an adult during his career (which continued) and the dungeons and dragons game designer. Both active witnesses. Imagine most jWs couldn't even play that game, nor watch boxing matches let alone design the game or compete in a boxing match🤔

Now what You make a good point about Watchtower not helping the widow or orphan. They are commanded to, as well!! With their billions of $$$$$.

There's also the nasty, cruel insinuation that any witness harmed like this probably has a "secret sin", since Jehovah didn't protect them

They were forced into accepting moustaches because in many regions of the world a man without facial hair - a moustache at minimum - is viewed with suspicion!! Think Turkey, the middle east, even Mexico etc

I know I've mentioned it many times before, but my best friends dad had a beard when he was baptised in the 70s. They used him to the fullest extent in every way - doing accounts, carpentry, building, designing, advice etc you name it. He designed aircraft for British Aerospace and tested them out so really smart.

I believe he got baptised to please his wife, a modest man he had no ambitions in the cong. Elders tried to get him to shave but he refused, rightly stating if it was good enough when he got baptised it's good enough now. He was never an elder but otherwise would have qualified. Perfect JW family & wife a pioneer almost from baptism until the day she died, supported financially by him of course

Underage child: PIMI vs PIMO parents rights

i am a pimo, inactive, parent of an underage child.

i was wondering what rights i have in regards to avoid that my child will be baptized when still underage, not having read the entire bible and before being able to clearly evaluate all the alternatives and consequences (like it happened to me) whereas the other pimi parent has all the rights to do it.

any experiences about children in a pimi vs pimo parents situation?

Fisherman You can tell your kid that you want him to wait until he gets older. And you can tell the elders that you don’t want him to get baptized until he is of legal age because that is your decision.

I agree with The Fisher one it's really as simple as this. Just explain. The elders won't baptise a minor if a parent doesn't want them to until they're of age. (not sure your sex) If you are the father I can absolutely guarantee they won't go against your wishes as 'head'(if you're divorced, head of the child at least, if not it's mother)

That's an excellent point Mark makes. He's on this site by the way as Emperor something or other. This was the book that sold me their false promise. Again no longer in print.

There's no way on earth Dijana would go back to being a witness. You treat her like she's daft in the head. I don't know if she's an atheist. I'm pretty sure she's not a believer in the Bible, or rather at any rate she's conversant with the anachronisms because she's mentioned some.

Reason no. 1 is incredibly powerful and counts for most of it. Finding faulty Watchtower logic or bringing out hypocrisy - such as the UN membership, feels like a personal attack.

Many people say it's gotten worse and in the old days witnesses didn't have this rude attitude. I'm not so sure. I think it's more that people are more aware of Watchtower history and are better equipped to counter poor Watchtower doctrine/flip flops/failed prophecy etc these days, than they could in the past
