Just because the Bible writers used the word unicorn (if indeed that is a reasonable translation) doesn't mean they believed in its existence. Perhaps they were using creative licence in order to make a point or embellish an illustration like any other author?

JW Marriages - Loophole in wedding vows
by Finally-Free innot being raised as a jw, i went to many church weddings, mostly in catholic churches.
all the times i went to jw weddings i thought it unusual that they had their own vows, much different from the wedding vows used elsewhere.
i remembered jws mentioning "divine temination" of marriages to me and thought the vows reflected that thought.

Stan the man But they went ahead with the rest of the speech--and we all attended the wedding reception--but the bride and groom each returned to their respective parents homes afterwards. The got a special licence and finalised their marriage a few days later.

I mentioned the JWwatch episodes you were involved with is in my opinion the most worthwhile content Lloyd has ever made - or will ever make . That stuff still stands Kim...nothing can take it's value away. All the work yourself, producer Bob and Mark did was, and is, so helpful to all JWs. You guys did an incredible job.....I mean just look at the standard of work he produces without you! Lousy!
Even much of the notable stuff he made prior to that (such as the 607 video) was really the work of others who went before. Such as Paul Grundy's summary of Johansson's book, but in video format.
*NB I'm not saying I agree it's acceptable to donate to Cedars. I'm just theorising as to why some people might. Although Simon's probably right he's too lazy (or conceited) to remove old names!!

I assumed they would continue their patreon membership to be honest. It's the kind of folks they are. I'll take a guess you won't ever see them on screen with him, but removing their patreon membership would seem a petty step too far to them, and - this is how good people like them will square it in their minds - they don't want Dijana and the kids to suffer. I used to be the same. I genuinely believed that most people had good intentions, but that upbringing or mental illness led to unintended negative outcomes. I didn't understand how narcissists operated.
I'm sure they think it's a relatively small amount and we have promised to help in the past - let us keep our promises. -

Lovely people. I remember when Sacha tentatively sought out advice here on how to wake up his wife. He got some excellent advice...So glad it worked out well!!
Lloyd frequently said he had no interest in providing support to new leavers who turned to JW survey - and him - as they woke up. Facing the prospect of being shunned and loosing everything. Some were young and homeless. Some were suicidal. He made it abundantly clear he would not respond to personal emails....unless they were from Bethelites, or elders with a good "story".
So Sherri and Sacha stepped in....lending his lousy website some credibility as a genuinely good resource. Marc O Donnel had already started reporting remarkably well on legal cases, given he didn't have a background. The site became more than a rehash of JWfacts info & a survey no one took.
But then they scored Kim Silvio! Kim you gave them the sort of professionalism that won JWWatch the trust of media outlets and more importantly apostates worldwide.

KimS I find this fascinating…..how do I not know who this person (Karen) is? Where did she go? She certainly wasn’t part of Lloyd’s team since my involvement - does anyone know?
Karen was Lloyds go-to whenever he did anything about CSA, usually a Watchtower in Focus. Yes, It was a while back now. WIF (later JW Watch) was in my view the most worthwhile content Lloyd has ever produced.
In fact Karen was noticeably the only woman he regularly worked with....this began to be noticed. But as his media visibility increased he seemed to intentionally avoid the experienced, older women activists in favour of the occasional interview with (always a pretty) youngster - newly awake - who would pop up on social media. In fact you could pick out the ones you knew he'd reach out to as soon as they appeared😂. Honestly it was embarrassing....and he'd always antagonise the O.G. female apostates, sometimes becoming downright nasty about them, like "Jane" who ran a CSA recovery blog, now closed down.

Karen Morgan (mentioned in Lloyd’s book) is a staunch supporter and she’s the only one I know who insisted that Lloyd stay on.
I knew she would because he had her on his you tube channel regularly. He only has any connection with anyone when they are useful to him. I'm quite sure, (despite Marc o Donnell's natural ability to write well) the initial reason Lloyd considered him as a colleague is that he owns his own business and Lloyd saw $$$ potential in him. He had zero interest in Sherri and her husband on this site when they first started waking up. Again he only became interested in them, despite their really kind offer to be support co ordinators on JW survey, when they either became (or Lloyd saw their potential to become) big "donors" to him. Let alone Lloyd graciously "allowing" them to give him hours of monetized content during lockdown!*
So this asshole and scumbag who needs everyone’s money to “save lives”, isn’t exactly interested in doing so when the project has sacked him for cause. So what used to be TTATT is now untitled (probably because Lloyd was involved in naming it) and here’s an educated guess: that documentary won’t see the light of day unless Lloyd stops blocking them with his legal threats.
He's got some cheek!! He's got zero right to stop a group of people making a film about watchtower & shunning etc. He didn't write a script for the damn thing! He didn't film it!Nor does he remotely have the skill or expertise to claim it was ever "his film". He just wants $$$ & self publicity is all.*

by SydBarrett inany opinions are just speculation, but my guess, being morbid, is that there was not a hull breach and implosion (although that would have been the most merciful fate for them), but instead the amateur level of building this thing meant that it lost power and communication and got itself tangled in the titanic's wreckage or is sitting on the actual seabed with no way to release ballast to resurface.

Fish called Wanda Thanks for the post. I can’t figure why no gps or a hundred or so signaling devices so rescue can track in a case like this. How dumb to make such a vessel lacking undefeatable safety features such as emergency communications for tracking . Even if the vessels blows up or something they should have built it with fool proof communication first.
Totally!! Even open water recreational Sea divers carry GPS trackers these days - they're about £450!!!
Further, when the electrics blow they're buggered!! If they at least had some kind of mechanical failsafe, So they could send something up to the surface? If they were somewhere on the surface they would be able to SOS, too.

Me : Blues, please don't let your love of individual JWs - as understandable as it is - affect your judgement to the point you cannot see that when a man with the power Stephen Lett wields makes comments such as that it's far worse than merely stupid.
Women with post partum depression, and people with psychosis in general, need very little to push them over the edge.
If they insist on micro managing let them at least be responsible as far as they can. Letts comments were utterly unnecessary, even in the context of that misanthropic religion. Far worse than anything Morris has said.

LMsA This is the guy who, inspired by Lloyd's rhetoric against certain people, called the police on the Warwick protesters and called them terrorists and aggressive activists.
This is why I abhorred Lloyd way before Thailand.
It wasn't enough to give zero support to the first ever Warwick protest and totally ignore it. Nor to actually launch the JWSurvey website the same day as the protest.
He had to actually call the Old Bill out on the protestors!!! Not Watchtower! Another Apostate!!
Though we all assumed Lloyd was behind it, Truth Seeker confirmed it - and had the decency to apologize. Something Lloyd has never done.
He used the same playbook with Katy Kitten and Marc/Cora when they organized a serious CSA interview with a journalist from the mainstream British media. He got someone else to do his dirty work and actually defame Marc Latham to the journalist - resulting in the article being cancelled!! Again his lacky admitted what he'd done and who had provoked him into doing it. The chap in question apologised for destroying a really important opportunity - but not the real instigator, green-eyed Lloyd.
