a herald investigation has uncovered disturbing practices within the jehovah’s witness church, including the systems for discipline, punishment and control in a secret rule book for church “elders”.. australian children in the jehovah’s witnesses religion are being trained to avoid life-saving blood transfusions and parents are being coached to thwart court processes that may prevent their children from dying, internal church documents reveal.. an investigation following an inquest into the death of jehovah’s witness heather winchester, who died in newcastle after refusing a blood transfusion, has uncovered disturbing practices within the australian church, including the systems for discipline, punishment and control contained in the secret rule book for church “elders”.. the church’s blood transfusion ban forces people to choose between risking death by refusing treatment or being “shunned” – cut off from family and friends under the church’s strict rules – according to 16 former and current members of the church interviewed and the testimony of many others.. .
some of them believe it has cost hundreds of lives in australia.. “i think it’s truly dangerous for children, who are not old enough to vote or drive, to be coached about how to convince a judge or doctors about a decision that is potentially life-threatening,” said fleur hawes, 32, a solicitor who escaped the religion and is speaking out for the first time.. in public, the jehovah’s witnesses’ leadership downplays the impacts of its ban on blood transfusions, which are based on interpretations of bible passages that say christians should not eat blood.. .
Not Former Kerry, as someone who has always been an outsider to JWs (I never joined), I was flabbergasted to find that, two decades after I had lost interest in all things WT, they had abandoned the door to door work, merely to comply with a Govt requirement. The door to door work was sacrosanct, back in the day! It was their go-to distinction that proved that they were "Jehovah's people". And they dropped it like a hot potato at the first sign of government pressure!
The ironic thing is they would say that they stopped the D2D out of love for the brothers and love of neighbour (ie saving lives by not spreading COVID).
So they were going against gods laws in order to save life using the principal of pucket nephesh - So, putting life before all commandments.
Why cant they do the same for the commandment against (eating)blood????

May I ask what the reasoning is for not making his submissions public? (I'm guessing so it doesn't prejudice any steps you may take moving forward, maybe??).
Clearly his bonkers beef with Kim & Mikey is a non starter (legal time limit aside) since even old Croatia isn't some feudal regime where parents can be clasped in irons for the "sins" of their offspring🤦🏻♀️
in the 70's a bethel elder told me that every morning in the 60's the paint and scaffold crew, (which was located on the 5th floor of building 4) would go up to the roof and walk around the perimeter on top of the ledge, which i doubt was more than 12" wide.
then they'd go render sacred service to jehovah..
Not FormerDiogenesister, sisters did serve at Bethel. Did those who made it have to have close connections with someone already in the hierarchy? Were you told that you could never aspire to such lofty levels (and pairs of socks) by anyone (in as many words)
Socks Lol😂 yes I was told that as a girl I wasn't qualified to serve in God's house! However we were in the UK and I'm not sure it had been very long that Knorr had allowed married couples.
Of course way back, I've since found out, men such as Rutherford brought his lady friend in to Bethel (despite her having zero qualifications - aside from the ones he clearly saw in her). Ive always been slightly fuzzy on where single women stand. I think lawyers/doctors/computer science grads may get exceptions and be allowed as singletons? Maybe someone could clarify it for me, please?

Everyone I know there's a lot to read but I highly recommend you do. It may give you some ideas for presenting your own local media with this information on the obscenity of pressurising famillies to abstain from giving their children lifesaving blood.

DOC This is why any (US) medical institution should refuse to hire any JW because it is clear that they have directions from their Religious Leaders to violate their oath of confidentiality and thus violate HIPPA law. Of course, it is the hospital, clinic, or physician's office who will be sued and (along with their insurer) suffer the financial consequences.
Not just the US - worldwide doctors, nurses, first responders and ancillary professions are obligated to maintain confidentiality not just by their employers, but by their professional registers.
.....And not just the medical professions, either. Lawyers, police officers, social workers etc. We've already seen the JW Canadian lawyer David Gnam perjure himself in court. Shocking.

I've got the feeling the only exJW hurling around libelous statements - i.e. calling people 'criminals' - in a bit of true poetic Aussie justice is about to have it boomerang🪃 back & hit him right up the jacksie👍
put in your bets as to where you think lard i mean lloyd evans will land after december's drop in his patrons.
in september he started at 457 patrons, did his whiny begging fest and peaked at 478, but then dropped down to 439 at the beginning of october.
as of this moment (nov. 6), he's at 427 paid members.. so, where do you think he'll be on december 2nd?
People have been calling Thanksgiving Turkey Day for decades. It's just a slang, conversational term.
😳DOH! My apologies!! Showing my ignorance🤦🏻♀️....I thought it was a new term for Christmas (catering to non-western sensibilities)
women make up the main population of the kingdom halls, and the pool of young males willing to step up to "serve" is drying up.
what is the likelihood of "new light" on jw women in ministry roles formerly held only by males?.
Jan from Tam because they think they are literally doing it for God. As if God himself had asked you.

ThomasMooreI think you need to insert Jesus somewhere between baptised Brothers and Toni Morris but I'm not quite sure where?🤔🤔🤔
