Don't feel too bad. You did what you could, and now it's time to protect your own child. Also the very act of you leaving might help others to wake up too.
Couldn't have put it better. I wish you all the very best and welcome.
well another big bad elder here just wanting to say sorry.. i'm sorry that so many were treated like crap, and shown that god's love is not to be found around jehovah's witnesses.
i'm sorry that inadvertently i've likely taught many to judge and as such see that racism permeates every corner of the jw world, else why else would someone be of the world, or even inactive.
i'm sorry i sat in on a jc, and voted to df.

he said she gave him a strange look.

while i do not argue the stand of atheism (because as a jew i find it totally logical and acceptable), i have noticed that there are odd carryover preconceptions about scripture that some hold as axiomatic about the bible (at least the hebrew texts), misconceptions that have nothing to do with the jewish scriptures themselves.. so regardless of what you may think of scripture, whether you believe it is of g-d or not, i thought some of you might enjoy a reference to see how much the watchtower teaching on scripture might still be influencing the conclusions you are making today...at least about the tanakh.
jews read their texts acknowledging the following:.
1. no scriptural concept of original sin.

Calebinflorida, thank you so much for this. Coming from a 'hebrist' religon , one happy hangover of my departure was my deep interest in Judaism. Whilst the little I know has made me realize the little I know, if you look at my posts I always recommend confused Christians study up on Judaism as it staggers me how ignorant we are on the belief system Jesus of Nazereth himself adhered to.
You mention the public nature (or theophany)in judaism ie Jews dont have to take the word of another, that God reveiled himself to the whole nation who stood at the ft. of Mt.Sinai. I am aware of this tenet in Jusaism. However, whether it is the translation of the scriptures Christians' use, this event never seemed obvious to me. Is it indeed a different scripture ( the Septiguint ??) Or am I too much of a bozo to find it?
satan, god i'm sorry for my misdeed, will you forgive me.
tell satan.
satan comes.
just wanted to say hello since i am new to this forum.
allow myself to introduce myself.
lol.
hi, i know posting links here is not always popular and appologies if you've seen this but i heartily recommend reading this fantastic bio.
i guess what you'll take from it is to never give up on anyone stuck in a cult and also an examle of real unconditional love in this case 33 years of rejection, patiently waiting until their daughter needed them.
enjoy.
"as servants of jehovah, we are not among those who are misled.
we know that the devil is real, for it was satan who spoke to eve through a serpent.
" - watchtower, may 15, 2015, page 15, #3.. someone should do a meme depicting a nutter/paranoid/delusional character saying this.
first let me preface my statements about my wife has such: .
she is allowed to believe what she wants and however blind .
and brainwashed i believe she is....she has her rights..
i am posting a transcript a part of the talk given by anthony morris iii from jw broadcasting july 2015. i've posted much much more than necessary but i wanted to keep it in context.
the governing body has approved of my speaking of something that jesus himself spoke of on a number of occasions.
and i might say at the outset that this is by no means a pessimistic speech meant to discourage anyone.
