Halloween has been pushed as a "safe"and commercial alternative. I'm in my 40's and it was barely celebrated in these 'ere parts when I was a child really.

What I Hate About Halloween....
by konceptual99 in....is that it has totally wiped away the distinct celebration of november 5th and bonfire night.
fireworks and bonfires are still ubiquitous this time of year but it's just merged in with halloween which, whilst always being celebrated, was not as promoted and so overwhelming as it is now.. bring back the guy!.

I agree, the food on bonfire night is the best!
I think it's just not very pc to cellibrate burning catholics, although I only recently found out his real target was not parliament but the King, James, a prize rotter.
You Americans would be a bit odd celebrating the execution of someone campaigning for religous freedom. Was it not this mean King James that precipitated the poor pilgrim fathers from leaving our shores?

Special Pioneer Couple Living at a Kingdom Hall In Miami FL, get the dreaded Letter
by James Jack injust got a phone call from an older sister saying that a couple that got re-assigned from bethel 4 years ago to live at their kh apartment as special pioneers, just received a letter saying "as of january 2016, your special pioneer assignment will be discontinued".. they live in a south miami kh(snapper creek congregation).. this couple had only served in bethel for 15 years before they were sent out into the special pioneer work.
they are now in their mid 50's and the sister said that they have to find part time jobs to support themselves.. the older sister (does not have a pc or internet), says that the couple are just devastated!

I wonder how it would affect their worldview if some "worldly," "apostate," or member of a church of "Christendom" offered them jobs or otherwise showed them kindness.
eI know in the UK the Salvation Army trawl the cold dark streets looking for the homeless, they house them, feed them and help them back on their feet to find jobs- I wonder if the SP's will conclude that Jehovah is with the WRONG organization? -

And you notice the "two or three" are "witnesses"in other words anybody is competant to be a "witness "(as you correctly point out to the sin itself)NOT elders.
Then to go to the "congregation"to put forward your grievence - in other words heard in public and it does NOT give anyone type of person MORE POWER or SWAY in the DECISION MAKING PROCESS ie judicial commitees are not scriptually sanctioned in fact these factors point to them being enphatically unChristian as held
Go first to your brother and practise christian forgiveness

Wrong Giving Elders the final say not congregation
Witnesses must be to the sin not accusation
sex crimes are not included in 2/3 witness rule
Finally with no resolution, be as tax collectors - for whom Jesus still showed love

Lett is aging terribly the last few years. Every time I see him he looks older. The stress of the WT fall from grace is killing him.
Here's some advice Lett.
Tell the truth. Let it go. God isn't backing you. Cut your losses. Follow the example of Ray Franz and do the right thing. You might get some sleep at night.
XJWSROCK I agree, I think Steve Lett is possibly one of the only genuine true believers at the ?top (puppet boy) - I don't know but I think he's not the brightest, maybe has a controling wife who will not let go, something about him tells me you are right XJWSROCK

An apostate is someone who has left out one or more of the basic tenets of Christianity such as the divinity of jesus, the trinity etc.

Your thoughts on Halloween , yes, no or maybe ?
by Finkelstein inwell its that time again when the ghouls come out to play.
i personally think halloween is a bit irresponsible and inappropriate from a sociological perspective.. there's something about the intent of frightening young impressionable children minds with frightening objests.
and feeding them candy which most likely cause tooth decay and stomachs is irresponsible activity conducted by adults.

Kate I know. I think we live near each other too, but I have a lot of health problems and look a wreck so im too embarrased to meet people! I felt rotton not going to your birthday bash. I think we have a lot in comman too as I lost my eldest son in a watchtower induced tug of love as they are called 😢
