Interesting I would like to further study this guy's ideas.Great shout out to AJWRB, directly credits it as being responsible for the recent reform on blood fractions but rightly worries that not all witnesses will be aware. Correctly maintains that reform on fractions was not clearly stated in a directive to the congs but (typically for another doctrinal flip flop) it is mentioned in passing as an answer to a phoney Awake mag "Question's from readers".It mentions Bulgaria came to an 'agreement' with the Watchtower regarding the blood ban. To qualify as a religon they had to promise witnesses who accepted blood transfusions would not be subject to sanction specifically disfellowshipping . However Watchtower is right that this agreement changes nothing as currently witnesses who accept blood are considered to have 'disassociated' themselves from the congregation, which brings exactly the same sanctions as does disfellowshipping. The piece is silent as to this particular piece of watchtower shysterism though. Thanks for sharing👍Sociologist Richard Singelenberg calls the pro-hibition a "purification ritual" to create "structural boundaries" around a persecuted minority.
2 Scholar Gerald Bergm~ who has published widely on the evolution of Witness transfusion doctrine, suggests that the opposition to transfusions grew out of the Witnesses' opposition to vaccines since the same Bible verses were cited to justify both positions.

Rita Swan of Child Inc....
by Lee Elder in...wrote a piece on the work of ajwrb and what had been accomplished, as well as how it was done.
i had not read this before this evening when i came across it in their newsletter archives.
its interesting to see the perspective of someone who works as a child advocate and non-jw.

The funny thing is that guy & those that took out the twin towers have a lot in common.
Dangerous & deluded.
How many witnesses died in the towers does anyone know?
Cruel man to be so callous & dismissive about those who died.

JWs have more good points than bad
by lsw1961 in1) many who were on the destructive path have been transformed by their teachings (this includes me who was once vicious, and presumptuous and atheistic).
2) equal monthly pay to all members of the bethel community regardless of whether they are bc members or sweepers.
this is something that still remains as an unattainable dream for the world.

They effectively invited the attention of the world into the thinking that evolution theory is just a theory believed out of convenience rather than conviction [if it were a principle, all scientists would have unanimously accepted it)
You do not understand the scientific definition of a theory and are confusing it with a hypothesis. A theory, as used within the scientific method , is a framework of observations and facts. It has to be well substantiated through repeated testing and confirmed as a principal that explains natural phenomena.
Evolution via natural selection is believed by the JW's but on the micro scale ( ie different breeds of dogs or birds )as opposed to the macro scale (speciation, which is where two animals are so different they can no longer breed). Scientific Theories must also be predictive and the theory of evolution has been proven conclusively via genetics.
I urge you to read a scientific book on the theory of evolution via natural selection before you condemn it out of hand. You cannot dismiss something you know nothing about. Wtbts science is wildly out of date, selectively "quote mined" and misleading.
Biologists unanimously accept evolution.
Glad to see you here though welcome😃

I learnt about the nasty side of human nature from some particularly unpleasant bible characters.
Any other subjects they touched on where at such a superficial level I have forgotten it all.

Your thoughts on the new Star Wars?
by Coded Logic inso i've thought for a while now that jj has the lowest bar to clear in cinema history.
all he has to do is make a movie that's not as bad as the prequels.
but upon viewing the recent trailers, it looks like he's actually got the "feel" of the originals down.

But we all have a soul that is eternal, which was made in the image of our eternal creator. The Watchtower doesn't like this fact either because it begs the question of WHERE that soul will spend eternity.
Perry, I just wondered what your take on animals is? It's just that anyone who has been close to another species knows that they feel, smile, lie, love etc just like humans - what applies to one must apply to the other surely?
So sorry about your mum by the way🌹
