Hi GG !! Take your time and do what's best for YOU and yours!
I so get that that you have to be cautious when the people you love are held 'captive to a concept'...heartbreaking story we know so well.

i've always found it amazing that people can say with such conviction that jehovah is their friend.. we are talking about a "friend" who perhaps daily "tests" us to see if we are his friends.
all of us have dealt with some form of hardship such as the death of a loved one, chronic illness or whatever.
it is in these cases that the brothers will tell a person that perhaps it is a test, or that "jehovah knows you're not ready" or some other lame excuse.. do our real friends "test" us to see if we will be loyal to them?
One older single sister said "we need to more than love Jehovah we should be madly in love with him!" talk about a cringeworthy moment.
Er....at least the Catholic's get to MARRY Christ....the J-dog is just a commitment-phobe sisters!He must have abandonment issues....Dump him!!!!!!
interesting in a new video on tv jw org "edward aljian: an important reminder", from 6 minutes onwards.
he asks a question about abraham: "couldn't jehovah have spared abraham a lot of grief by telling the promised offspring would be by sara?".
jehovah only disclosed this when ishmael was in his early teens.
Also, in what way did Abraham himself suffer? Hagar suffered, Ishmael suffered, Sara(h) suffered as did Issac. Abraham? Oh maybe he had to listen to a little nagging but generally he just got to take part in a little extra curricular bonking and got to be top dog by putting his son through sheer terror!
Sounds to me like old Abe made the whole thing up to get away with being a real w@nยฃer!
they say ignorance is bliss... well, i wish that god did not give adam free will.
i am ok to not have free will if it means i will live forever in perfect paradisiac conditions.it has been explained that free will is a gift from god.
they say 'who would want to live life like a robot?
Fisherman - I trust him with my life.
I wish I did. My life experience tells me there's no one there....it was all a wonderful delusion. It's over now and I lament waking up and finding myself alone.
I feel you.
Why can't we set up an " you are not alone, give us a hug, love to everyone" " church" for people who do the maths and realize there is no God and the universe is utterly indifferent to us.
i bumped into a sister that i have known for at least 40 years or so.
we were catching up.
she and her husband have been in the truth for decades.
I genuinely think it is only a matter of time before the dark lords start insisting there ARE NO MORE anointed WITHOUT their getting the nod from the holy spirit first - ie when they want to promote someone etc which will, of necessity, rule out any women from partaking, period.
I also think that more witnesses are cottening-on to the unfair and unscriptural TWO TIER system of salvation Rutherford brought in and no longer a!low the governing busybodies to mediate instead of Christ for them.
a. in 2026 in what state do you think the organization will be?.
) 9million + members.
) roughly the same amount of members as today (7-9 million)..
A. 5
B. 1
C. 3
D. 4
I put B 1 more foreign language publications as research shows cults thrive when their literature is published in the victims "home or native" language, since the target for cults are in poor undeveloped countries with little access to education or tecnology I expect "niche" language publications to increase.. - the only thing that will ( they may also get public funds/ tax breaks to publish in minority or dying languages)
asking this q because my own feeling about this is that he probably believed in god but his evolutionary thesis is used to support atheism.
how come?
Darwin accompanied his deeply religious wife to church on Sundays but did not enter, waiting outside for her. Research from Cambridge suggests his delay in publishing " Origin.."was due to ill health, in part, combined with a heavy workload. It is considered a myth that he delayed due to religious sensibilities or that he feared censure. He had gathered such vast amounts of evidence supporting evolution via natural selection it would be unthinkable that he could any longer believe the biblical creation narrative and thus Christianity at the very least.
When Astronomer Royal Martin Rees was asked why he still attended church his reply was " loyalty to the tribe".Don't know why I wrote that but it seemed appropriate, somehow.
more "odds and ends".
i liked lyman swingle (governing body member)......he was from alabama, he knew how to curse at the right time.
i think, thatโs why i went to him, when i was having so much trouble with my future wifeโs parents.
there were other people who either killed themselves or tried to kill themselves while they were at "the house of god.
one person who did kill himself was richard wheelock, press room overseer ......he jumped out of a window at the watchtower farm one day.
it seemed, he was never quite the same after his wife "willy" died.
i decided to put an end to my affiliation with the jws for good.
this decision is not the result of an irrational impulse.
it is quite the contrary.
