She's been raised in a cult....the cult of the gun. Will this lead to some cognitive dissonance for those in the cult? We can only hope.

Strange people you have studied WT and Bible with.
by kaik inwhen i look back into era when i conducted bible studies i recall several nice people, but also weird and strange.
my last bible study was with couple who were the new capitalists; people who earned a lot of money often by illegal means.
i am sure they were dangerous, but i have not perceived that way.

. His family were right wing extremist where grandpa was a member of Slovak Nazi guard or SS unit during WWII.
Dear god Kaik, am I right in thinking you are Czech? Hungarian? Either way it doesn't bare thinking about what Nazi Grandpa got up to during WW2. Not to be upsetting anyone but the local Nazi sympathizers - Hungarian Arrow cross? the French the Ukrainians the Lithuanians were terrible ! were the Czech Nazis the same? Oh my god Liddice! Anyway - the locals always seemed to be so much worse than the Germans...oh so willing to do their dirty work. You were right to run a mile!!!
Getting back to the OP I had one, not weird exactly ... a young- ish girl whose boyfriend came to sit in. He would offer drinks..tea whatever, and say " bob's biscuits" but not once, like 20 times!. Then he would say it a couple more times when the study began listen a while ..say it again and leave ....now I look back he may have had Tourettes syndrome.
Bobs biscuits!!! The funny thing is I can't stop saying it myself now sometimes when I give out biscuits! Its stuck in my head! Instead of me passing him a meme he's given me one!

GrreatTeachera day ago
I've found that pharmacists are often better than doctors at catching drug interactions. Polypharmacy is the prescribing of 5 or more drugs.
You are so right Great teacher...spot on. Also I would class bi polar disorder as extremely serious, if you read my earlier post I classed depression as a serious illness like cancer and meningitis that requires conventional treatments without question. As a nurse I just realize the great cost to our bodies of pharmaceutical drugs. In general I would avoid them if at all possible. I think Talesin is right..there is horrendous over prescribing of the elderly WHO ARE OFTEN CLASSED AS A PROBLEM AND GIVEN MEDS TO "KEEP THEM QUIET".Talesin is right to be concerned.

Thank you Xanthippie actually it doesn't surprise me cider vinegar is good to use as my husband is always ranting about all the amazing uses of vinegar ( and bicarb of soda too!) but he didn't know about this one!
I will start straight away as I have it in stock to use for salad dressing! Thank you so much...they are threatening to start me on steroids and immune suppressants...boy I so want to avoid such stuff the side effects are worse than the problem they treat half the time!

1975 coverup! Compare the '68 and '81 Truth book scans
by JimmyPage inthe wt society pointed to 1975 as the date for the end of the world.
when the date came and went they changed their publications to remove themselves from the fiasco.
need proof?

ooooooweeeee bump! I cannot believe that millions of intelligent folk based theirs and their children's whole lives on some tacky book that a semi senile, self absorbed old man had a little obsession with and kept next to his bed as a little light read that conveniently confirmed his deluded beliefs.

BBoid Organic food just TASTES way better!!!Nature knows best - always! Natural plants have fought for their place in the world for countless generations Diversity is hugely important, why do you think they are storing natural seeds in those vast silos in Norway? Also the bees are dying out in part due to insectide use on commervcial scale http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/may/09/honeybees-dying-insecticide-harvard-study and bees are responsible for pollinating ONE THIRD of the plant foods we eat! Gm crops also have modified pollen - another reason the bees are not surviving, the modified pollen is damaging to them.To the OP Good for you guys! I am a veggie, try to give my kids organic when I can ( we live in a city and had an allotment for a few years) and despite being a nurse I strongly agree you should avoid tablets and conventional medications includnhg antibiotics if you possibly can. Use natural remedies UNLESS you have a serious condition - depression, cancer , meningitis ec.and of course vaccinations are important but you own immujne system needs to be strong - it can only become so by fighting infections itself and being fed a wide range of healthy foods , lots of fresh air and excercise is important too! My kids complain because I am trying to give them the healthy start I never had! If organic food is a scam well its the best scam there is - let's face it my kids are never going to look back in their healthy old age and say " that organic food its damaged me for life!!"

Had a operation today and was asked about blood transfusions.
by atomant inoperation was successful only minor but some interesting information was revealed to me from the surgeon.l requested that they treat me as if l was a jehovahs witness with regards to blood transfusions.the doctor said well that varies from jw to jw and l asked what do you mean?his response was that in his dealings with jw's was that approx half of witnesses will accept a blood transfusion in life threatening circumstances and sign a form saying so.l was blown away when he told me this.l was curious if others in here have heard similar storys.lt seems to me that many witnesses have weakened their stance on this controversial subject.

I agree Orphan Crow - all doctors take the greatest care with regard to blood loss - hemorrhage is a risk in surgery but one to be avoided at all cost, they don't play fast and loose with your life and blood !
As regards to the OP I am so glad the doctors are aware of this variation in stance, check with the patient and don't just assume because they are a JW and have signed that offensive DPA card (previously called Advance medical directive or no blood form) with the HLC or elders breathing down their necks, doesnt mean they definately dont accept blood in an emergency. Also many cards are found to be out of date, unsigned or unwitnessed which doctors must also be aware of. ( see http://ajwrb.org/medicine/watchtower-no-blood-card )all good news!

DataDog Just think about this, the WTBTS has been talking about the need to be in the "Ark" to survive for decades. How ironic that the ARC may not be what they thought! LOL
DD - love it!!!
