Flying Scotsman Visits My Town

the iconic steam engine the flying scotsman has been restored and is back on tour along the east coast main line between london and edinburgh.

this evening it crossed the royal border bridge in berwick-on-tweed for the first time since it was put out of service in january 1963.. here are few shots.. .

Beautiful...I also saw it once though I don't remember, just a wee baby . I have a minuture version though! Its the Hornby version.

My possibly " Unique" Trolly Witness....

i don't usually anti-witness anymore, but being out of town and bored i went up and introduced myself to a couple of sisters " trolly witnessing" then a voice from behind me spoke " if you don't mind i think i was in front of you".

i stepped back, apologising as i did so, and decided to continue with my day.. anyway this trivial incident i post because it may be quite unique, i mean i really can't imagine anywhere else in the world where people are queing up to speak to these people manning " trolly carts" can you?.

and on the whole i think that's a good thing, even if he was ahead of me only to anti-witness?.

No I think Perry means that real ( non dub) Christians ALSO believe in a paradise earth...they just have a different term for it - and I may be wrong so I stand to be corrected ( by Perry or any others )- but I also believe they don't see it as the " end game" as it were, unlike Jehovah's Witnesses.

Thankful for my babies

i hope everyone is having a good day/night.

so i was just reflecting on how happy i am to have my babies, despite the orgs.

not so subtle requests that married couples not have babies in order to further serve the org.

he WTBTS says a lot of things, but we as individuals choose whatever, especially these days when all their doomsday predictions have expired.

I'm sorry to say in the 70s and 80s we thought the wtbts was speaking for god so EVERY little word..no matter how seemingly just a " suggestion" was a suggestion from god, we thought it selfish to have kids when peoples lives depended on our being free to go in service..........not so many born- in fashion plates who use KH as a social calendar filler- upper, then for " keep up with the jonses" House beautiful demos and to show our fashion forward credentials....Jesus? Jesus who? Take your sandals off before you come in, that's a Conran rug dear.

I'm another late bloomer....caught at 38 and unexpectedly pregnant with twins!

I look back at my thoughts to never bring children into this wicked system..but also because my self esteem was zero thinking I was too imperfect to have kids, too evil, thanks to childhood indoctrination, anyway it fills me with utter horror that I may not have brought my beautiful boys into this hard, yes at times painful but ultimately wonderful world..given them a shot at life...giving life, bringing forth life...words fail me.

Of all the evils the org has brought upon the trusting ones childlessness is what angers me most, we all have our pet hate and this is mine.and I literally weep with Alive! and others betrayed so scandeously, so evilly, to play on their selflessness like that...it denies not just the parents but EVERYBODY joy.

My son is under Great Ormond street for a disfiguring and dangerous skull condition - our surgeons made him a new forehead and top skull and stopped pressure on the brain and cruel bullying. This Dr is amazing he travels the world with a musculo- skeletal Charity operating on disfigured children who hide at home because the superstitious villagers think its caused by demons......and yet 2 miles down the road in 21st century London, a small boy in my local Cong of JW's needs but will never have that operation. Because his parents believe a 3,000 yr old superstion that a vindictive desert God will kill their son for eternity should they allow the operation, and the transfusion he will surely need with it.

Edited to say...yes JW snoops look at REBELFIGHTER'S and my post and tell us these kids should wait on Jehovah!

so after the 2 special pioneers visited i thought i had given them an earful about the arc and the pedophile problem in their organization surely they would have put me on the do not call list.. oh, no not my luck i get an elder and his lovely little mute wife with infant child in the stroller this morning at 9 am.

don't these people have a job to go to?

it was a car with 3 men & a woman.. we go through the standard do you read the bible yada yada, i tell them i know the routine very familiar with your game.

Fantastic...enjoyed reading it, great job. Sounds like he was OK, his authentic self is telling him its wrong to be prejudiced, let's hope it wins through some day!

i don't see this posted elsewhere, and i don't have the links besides this facebook one.. but here is a 45-minute long bethel talk about the changes at bethel including addressing the hard feelings of people who were given the axe.

basically, everything must change.

we gave remaining bethelites saturday off to do our bidding in "the field" and we give bethelites over 70 an extra day a week off (if you can find any such bethelites).

Another generation....

it has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?

the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.

the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.
