I'm still on my JWN holidays but had to pop back to share this experience.
by nicolaou ini'm a postman with the royal mail and was assigned to train a new starter yesterday.
my line manager introduces me to 'dave', within seconds my jw radar was on maximum!
in his mid to late 30's, politely spoken and with that haircut - i just knew it.. the post he'd applied for was saturdays only, he said he did a lot of volunteer work.

It's your JAY- dar (or J-dar) it never fails eh? Yup, a certain type of person, raised in the WT, really does not feel safe out in the " world" and they say they're not a cult cos they live with us and not in a compound!!!What a joke....they are so cut off, as the society wants them to be .... and yes individual dubs don't know any better so it's good to let them see it's possible to leave and be really ok. Let us know how he gets on....at least he's working and not pretending to be ill like they usually do in the UK -

At that point they trespass into an area where the law can step in and hold them accountable for violating other people's rights.
You are right , but I do think WT are treading on thin ice with this one. Essentially the video is a) teaching their kids to be bigoted and b) telling them to go preach that bigotry to their schoolmate with gay parents.
Given that most schools in the US and UK etc aim to create a safe environment for ALL pupils regardless of creed, religion, sexual preference and family background etc a kid going JW sherrif all over school and making fellow pupils feel like shit in the process is likely to cause a shitstorm if said gay parents are inclined to make an issue of it. I don't know where all this would lead but I do know one thing, the JW kid is likely to have another viewpoint vehemently rammed down her throat by the school board . A good thing of course but not from a dub parents point of veiw.

Like someone can just drop homosexual leanings or desires like a dropping a piece of carry-on luggage.
Its worse than that...they expect gay people to just drop their loved one like a piece of carry-on luggage too....oh hang on, they already expect people to do that with their kids, fathers, mothers, wives, grandfathers, aunties, cousins...etc...at least then they are equal opportunities shunners!!

Here's a view on homosexuality for you...
by konceptual99 in...right from a pro-jw site in response to a post about the relative seriousness of homosexuality.
all you can do is reason from the scriptures, which you appear to have done.
homosexuality is as serious as bestiality, or adultery and fornication.

Truthseeker DATA-DOG is right, technically as a Christian all sins are as one...paid for by the blood of Christ should you ask for forgiveness in his name. There is no mention of one being worse than another - the Watchtower got that wrong ( obviously a Franze BS issue)- except for the mysterious " unforgivable sin against the holy spirit" and frack knows what that is!! -

Galatians 5:26 was used in and before the 1960`s to not be involved in competitive sports for yourself or for your children
by smiddy inmyself and my peers in the jw organization in the 1960`s discouraged our children from entering into competitive sports because of the jw policy , regarding that scripture .. has their been a radical change since then ?
a re-interpretation of that scripture ?.
why i ask this question is : here in victoria australia where afl football ( aussie rules ) is often regarded as a religion , especially to the state, victoria , we have, according to the media , a devout jehovah`s witness playing professional afl football at a competitive level.. and at their latest win , the team , including alec rance a jw of the richmond club was enthusiastically singing the club victory song along with his teammates on their win .. are their other examples of this in other parts of the world or is this an australian hiccup.. smiddy.

My possibly " Unique" Trolly Witness....
by The Rebel ini don't usually anti-witness anymore, but being out of town and bored i went up and introduced myself to a couple of sisters " trolly witnessing" then a voice from behind me spoke " if you don't mind i think i was in front of you".
i stepped back, apologising as i did so, and decided to continue with my day.. anyway this trivial incident i post because it may be quite unique, i mean i really can't imagine anywhere else in the world where people are queing up to speak to these people manning " trolly carts" can you?.
and on the whole i think that's a good thing, even if he was ahead of me only to anti-witness?.

PZH You may have fared better at Armageddon had she not spoken to you.
No I think Perry means that real ( non dub) Christians ALSO believe in a paradise earth...they just have a different term for it - and I may be wrong so I stand to be corrected ( by Perry or any others )- but I also believe they don't see it as the " end game" as it were, unlike Jehovah's Witnesses. -

he WTBTS says a lot of things, but we as individuals choose whatever, especially these days when all their doomsday predictions have expired.
DY
I'm sorry to say in the 70s and 80s we thought the wtbts was speaking for god so EVERY little word..no matter how seemingly just a " suggestion" was a suggestion from god, we thought it selfish to have kids when peoples lives depended on our being free to go in service..........not so many born- in fashion plates who use KH as a social calendar filler- upper, then for " keep up with the jonses" House beautiful demos and to show our fashion forward credentials....Jesus? Jesus who? Take your sandals off before you come in, that's a Conran rug dear.

I'm another late bloomer....caught at 38 and unexpectedly pregnant with twins!
I look back at my thoughts to never bring children into this wicked system..but also because my self esteem was zero thinking I was too imperfect to have kids, too evil, thanks to childhood indoctrination, anyway it fills me with utter horror that I may not have brought my beautiful boys into this hard, yes at times painful but ultimately wonderful world..given them a shot at life...giving life, bringing forth life...words fail me.
Of all the evils the org has brought upon the trusting ones childlessness is what angers me most, we all have our pet hate and this is mine.and I literally weep with Alive! and others betrayed so scandeously, so evilly, to play on their selflessness like that...it denies not just the parents but EVERYBODY joy.
