  FYI My JW mom and Alzheimer's

  one year ago today my mom passed away.

  she was 91 years old.

  it has been really hard on me because i never expected what happened, to.have happened.

  Wow. I had such terrible stark thoughts...that we are essentially alone. That no love is utterly unconditional. Everyone has their breaking point. I read about a wrestler today who murdered his wife and child then killed himself.....he was suffering from end stage Alzheimer's and had the brain of an 85 yr old in his late 30s.

  I used to disapprove of stem cell research...using babes parts to help cure a disease of the old....except of course its not only the old. Then when I nursed families with Alzheimer's I realised its the single most god awful cruel disease on this planet.I'm so sorry you have gone through that....your poor mother, it would have killed her to know how she would treat her beloved babies at the end. Try to find it in your heart to forgive her...it sounds insane but your anger is real understandable and utterly valid.

  Actually I think shunning is much worse than it used to be in the 70s and 80s. They never openly told family's to shun each other back then.

  attending my boys parents evening it was mentiond they were to study the " diary of anne frank".

  ( he is 10 years old) i pointed out to the teacher that having read the book, in my option the book was not written entirely by anne frank, and i would educate my boy on why i believe this to be so.. in my mind this was a totally reasonable responce by me, but it has resulted in the head-master of the school wanting to meet with me.

  i think it wrong that an educational system will i suspect meet with me and presumably suggest my options on the " anne frank diary" constitute hate speech, as nothing could be further from the truth.. freedom of speech is never absolute, but at what point do you think it reasonable and justified?

  The Rebel....sorry at first I thought you innocently meant that, as Katewild mentioned, that the book was edited.

  Then the truth comes out....

  I'm not surprised the teacher wants to meet with you.

  Hate toward the German nation???? In my opinion the only thing wrong with that is EVERY nation is as guilty for standing by and letting them DO IT.

  the christian gospel begins with the dehumanising assertion that all humans are fallen sinners who deserve nothing but god's judgement and wrath.. not only does this taint all relationships between christians and unbelievers, it destroys the beautiful innocence of childhood.

  in a recent edition of the popular christian radio program "family life today", titled “introducing your child to god,” co-host bob lepine discussed teaching “practical theology” to his young daughter, explaining:.

  Did The Witnesses Predict the United Nations in Advance?

  it's been reported on this forum that bethel speakers at this summer's conventions are asserting that the establishment of the united nations in 1945 was predicted in advance by the witnesses.

  this is being presented as validation of the claim that the witnesses are god's one true organization directed by holy spirit.. .

  the basis for this claim originates with a public address entitled, peace - can it last given by n.h. knorr at the new world theocratic assembly, on september 20 of 1942. .

  Thanks Scenic viewer I didn't know about the " was, is not, will be" bit that WT spoke about. However it's rubbish because the league never went out of business... It just altered its name, the charter on which it was based remained the same. It's essence remained continuously the same...they are being pedantic to say otherwise. Absurd.

  my mom is only in her mid 60s so i'm quite sure this is not an issue of mental illness.. the only illness she's suffering from is boredom since she's refused to work for years now.

  What DOES your mom bring to this living arrangement? She doesn't seem to respect you, doesn't respect your home, and doesn't contribute financially since you said she refuses to work.

  If she doesn't bring anything to this relationship and arrangement, why are you supporting her?

  Am I going potty here or what? The League of Nations ( that became the United Nations )began in 1919 after WW one... so how is predicting the United Nations in 1942 or 1 in any way prescient ???

  is it possible it's not like they initially said, that it was just having god's name added in places where it had been deleted, and that perhaps they're making more adjustments to it in order to fit our doctrine?.

  Is it possible that Latin languages are harder to fraudulently " translate" into WT doctrine than English, given that Latin was the language of the church for hundreds of years? Would the fakery be easier to spot for experts???
