Oh boy there's gonna be some tears in our house when the kids see this ad the first time. We had a giant trampoline in our back garden and our dog and the upstairs neighbours dog ADORED bouncing on it.

Our dog passed away last year at 15, our neighbours dog moved with his (human)grandpa to Angola. Both dogs are grievously missed by both broods.

Edit: We have a family of foxes in the garden so maybe they get to use it.😋The racket they make sure sounds like it!

so the elder (who was my teacher) has informed the rest of the congregation and has now revolked my enterance into their or any hall.

and so now they are looking into getting a restraining order and have called new york and that's what they have decided to do.

just because i was made to feel so depressed and hated that i was thinking of suicide.

I'm more concerned about your relationship with your Dad for now, lostpuppy. Please, do me a favour, don't worry about the witnesses for now. Just put them out of your mind. Focus on your therapy, getting better, and building up a good relationship with your dad for now. It seems your dad has always stood by you, when others have not, so please be as kind and understanding as possible with him. Support each other as best you can. Please. We only have each other such a short time on this earth. Be the best son you can be. When you are better and your relationship with your dad is really good perhaps then....sometime in the future, you will be ready to address your spiritual needs. Not before. I wish you all the best, do take care.

Org Is RACIST! Towards Sisters Of COLOR In Particular--IMO!

i'm sorry--i'm getting this very sensitive vibe that the org (mainly those at the top) don't have any respect--forget about love--for sisters of color.

I think it probably is tougher in the UK for a black sister to find a marriage mate, just because there are less of them, that's all. If she didn't necessarily care whether her husband was black or not it would make it slightly easier for her. I've no doubt that the racism of individual brothers/families could also make things tougher. But I don't think the society is racist for using a black sister, I think they are trying to portray quite the opposite.

NB Cofty you cannot be serious about WT having a "paternal" attitude to women. Maybe individual brothers/elders etc may have this attitude, but the society's attitude to women is and always has been toxic.

Starting a 'Bible Study' - The Basics

i never was a jw.

i was brought up in a fairly fundie sect (pb) and have been for many years an interested atheist.

i am an admirer of the work of bart ehrman (and recommend his blog).. from time to time, jws call at my door and invite me to partake in a 'bible study'.

I think the majority of JW's would know the language Jesus spoke and that the bible was written in, but the last names of Jesus and Paul? Wouldn't have a Danny. Unless it's a trick question and they had a system like the Russian patrynomic - so Jesus Josephus, for example?

Btw didn't know you where Plymouth Brethren!Very exotic!You must tell US more about it....similarities, differences that sort of thing.

Fully agree that these so called Bible teachers have very poor knowledge, but what can you expect when all their critical facillities are locked down...they are spoon fed only what they need to know to recruit more workers, no more no less.

i know... how cool would that be??!.

having just commented on the post by trailerfitter about the situation with his wife, and how i have personally found the book crisis of conscience by ray franz to be the perfect antidote to the society's perception of itself as being god's earthly organisation, the thought occurred to me: what if there was a movie about ray franz and his life?

obviously the society would be in uproar, and letters would be read out to all congregations all over the world not to go and see it, but just imagine!
