  there's been discussion on this forum about the wt's preaching campaigns in israel - here's an interesting article with pictures.

  a rare glimpse into the insular world of israeli jehovah's witnesses.

  the state refuses to recognize them and they have been victims of harassment.

  I found it interesting that the elder is described as " only 50". It's something I've always wondered at, a 50 year old elder is pretty average in jws but the revered rabbis in Judaism are often very old - whereas elders are deleted ( or is it just cos?) When they get to a certain age now. I find that *extremely* disrespectful. Some JW elders are absurdly young.

  It's also described in the article as a " mix of Judaism and Christianity" which, although they'd deny it, is kind of true...it would weirdly please them since they are the church of Adoration of king David!!

  The young man interviewed also fluffy the whole blood issue....again probably because of the authorities they toned it down and the bullcrap about only baptizing minors at 17. Maybe once...not any more. So glad they cannot target youngsters in isreal at least.

  Sheeplike?? A Christian Requirement or WT Controlling mechanism?

  when we were practising witnesses we heard a lot about the need to be "sheeplike" , having a sheeplike attitude and personality .

  a typical comment might be :.

  "lasting peace & happiness just ahead" 2009 p 30.

  The other thing to remember about sheep is that they are not even bright enough to follow the shephard, they follow each other . Each one following wherever the one in front goes....whether that be over a precipice or straight into the slaughter house.

  They are also corralled on the basis of fear...of the wolf ( or sheepdog, as anyone who has seen "Babe" will tell you!)

  of publisher numbers go up its a sign jehovah must be blessing the work if they go down it a sign the end must be near .

  Crisis of Conscience: December 12, 2015 - 50 weeks later

  i am presently considering three different routes to publishing crisis of conscience.

  i hope to make a decision within days and plan to publish within weeks.. it has now been 50 weeks since that statement.. has the book been published yet?

  or what it's worth, YouTuber 'The Unwitness'(Joel I think)said a few months ago that he was disappointed with the delay but had been told the reason why and it was legit. Also that it will be well worth the delay from what he had heard and to be patient. He said he couldn't say anymore.

  I am a proud member of the pirating class, although I don't call you a sucker, I think it was extremely estimable of you. Many people offered to help Deborah - even publishing professionals. Actually I was given the website of the p DF on here, which is why I thought that whole ' cease and desist' out cry on here a couple of years ago so hypocritical.

  Unfortunately, I think you guys are on to something, if the lady in question is an exJW the delay in publishing may be down to old fashioned superstition of the deity.

  So you know what I'm going to say now, don't you? 1 2 3...

  Jehovah's Limp Witnesses Pointed Me to JW.org When I Was Willing to Talk

  several months ago i approached a nice young couple who were standing by a jw literature stand in my local community.

  they were pleasant and polite but incredibly stilted when it came to answering my "innocent" questions about their beliefs.

  this was the occasion of jws featuring the article headlined "is religion dying?".

  I think the Gov body is discouraging conversations in an effort to keep the RF from hearing all the negative they would hear otherwise. The indefensible can decay some people's trust in the Governing Blotto.

  That's what I've wondered for some time. Do they want witnesses to stay away form worldly types with tatt?

  Australian Royal Commission mentions that G. Jackson was inconsistent

  it's great that the following is officially mentioned in the royal commission's report:.

  when asked if the governing body members saw themselves as ‘jehovah god’s spokespeople on earth’, mr geoffrey jackson answered that it ‘would seem to be quite presumptuous to say that we are the only spokesperson that god is using’.

  mr jackson’s response seems to be inconsistent with the documentary evidence before the royal commission, which shows that jehovah’s witnesses believe that the governing body is the ‘channel’ by which jehovah’s ‘will’ is communicated to them..

  Does anyone else think the recent Watchtower article stating that the FDS is neither infallible nor inspired is connected with this? They certainly would have received a copy before publication and this may be a door-after-the-horse-has-bolted attempt at salvaging Jackson's good name, or an attempt at deflecting personal responsibility for policy.
