If this is not being done on the say so of institutions and is from the Slave, why is it not rolled out worldwide? If kits really about safeguarding and transparency?
And why only one announcement? What happens if you miss it? Or join next week/ month/ year.
They care not a jot for kids, but only saving their reputation and the coffers it brings in.

Does Anyone Know The "Real" Attitude That JWs Have Towards "Inactive Ones"?
by minimus indoes the rank and file or the elders view us as disassociated or disfellowshipped or simply "weak" or possibly a "prodigal son" type?.

Something in the air this season...
by babygirl30 ini have had some ultra weird exchanges with some existing jws these past 2 months that have me caught off guard (which is rare for me) - but overall just odd.. 1. i was out at a happy hour with some coworkers, and a woman whom i used to be friends with in another congregation came in with her husband.
background: her kids, myself, and her best friends son - were all close friends!
so we all were around this woman and her bff on a regular basis.

It always amazes me how people that happily belong to a religion that sanctions shunning get upset when *they* get shunned.
I get that the guy might have his reasons to stay shtum and go back - but to encourage *you* to go back when he patently cannot believe the bull himself...incredible.

here's a great jw brain stumper about noah
by nowwhat? inso noah was a preacher of righteousness.
than how did he warn other pockets of civilizations that were hundreds or thousands of miles away?
and if they were destroyed anyway i thought jehovah only acts after he gives clear warning.. and if there were no other civilzations why the need to destroy the entire earth of every living creature?

They will say that in those days man was closer to perfection, lived longer and had long memories of God, the fall etc and knew What was about to happen due to longevity.
But I think the point that predestination rears it's head again is a good one, ie the Arc was built for 8 humans and animals only so everyone was predestined not to listen.

My letter to the Australian Royal Commission regarding case study #29 Jehovah's Witnesses
by EdenOne insomeone suggested i would address a letter not only to mr. angus stewart, but also to the royal commission as well.
it merges the two subjects on the same letter (inactive status and shunning; two witness rule), and adds some things more that what i said to mr. stewart.
it's a bit long, please bear with me.. --------------------------------------- .

I'm guessing you've sent the letter? If not, just like to reiterate Stuckinarut2 that you might like to mention that the 2016 convention videos focused very much on shunning inactive ones, and that " bad associations spoil USEFUL habits" I believe is their favourite expression!
Great letter, thank you for your work on all our behalf Eden one, it's much appreciated.

Is Stephen Lett an alien imitation?
by LoveUniHateExams ini've been watching quite a bit of gb member stephen lett on youtube recently (no, i'm not thinking of going back to the jws).. i just find him compulsive viewing, like when people slow down to see a car crash.
i find his facial expressions and intonation spell-binding.. it reminds me a bit of john carpenter's the thing, a film where an alien life-form infects a host and imitates it, spreading throughout camps of remote workers in the antarctic.
if i were a bethelite living in close proximity to lett, i'd be thinking about giving him the blood test to see if he was normal, lol.. why does lett speak in public the way he does?

There's a very close relative of his on reddit and he says none of these theories about him( Tourette, stutter etc) are true - that he's a nice guy with a normal iQ who certainly didn't used to talk like that at home. All I can think of is it's his "public" style of talking.
Apparently the faithfull love him. He's the most popular which is why they give him the difficult ( money grabbing) talks.
Edit: definitely a forest Gump fan.

So Orphan Crow. I showed you that Watchtower does acknowledge that Child Abuse can include that of child pornography and in fact more than child pornography but sexting with a minor. Does that mean that your argument falls flat in the water and doesn't leave the gate.
Lets cut to the chase here - sexting with a minor is child abuse to them because it involves someone who is a witness
Child pornography is not child abuse to the Watchtower because the victim is likely a worldly child, AKA birdfood.
And no her argument does not fall flat in the water just because Watchtower views a Seperate issue, sexting a minor, as abuse. We are talking about child porn and that those clunkheads cannot empathise with the *hell* some worldly child has gone through *and* that it is illegal.

Richard Oliver But you also feel that for instance a young couple should not be df'ed for having premarital sex, that would ruin their life
Why should a young couple having premarital sex ruin their life?

Is ignorance an excuse?
by stuckinarut2 ini have always maintained that i hold nothing personally against individual witnesses, even those that have actively slandered our name and reputation based on the actions of some individuals.. i have often said that all these ones, (even the ones spreading gossip), are victims of the culture of the organization, and the directions of the gb.. but recently i have been rethinking this, and wonder if ignorance is really an acceptable excuse?.
i mean, with so much information now readily available about the society, its origins, its scandals, issues and conduct, is it simply ok for a witness to remain wilfully ignorant about the organization that dictates every aspect of their lives?.
is ignorance an excuse?.

I think witnesses in poor lands with very little access to information and a basic. - if any - education, have a hellofva better excuse than some of the higher ups in the 1st world who regularly see the hypocrisy and have access to the full history of the org.
