Are you SMMcRoberts? ??!!
If so, I love you! Your writing is utterly brilliant!
i just completed writing a series of 8 blog posts dismantling the watchtower's blood policies.. it was my goal to prove that the blood ban is neither scriptural nor sensible.
this is a rewrite of the series of articles i contributed some years ago to the now defunct jehovahswitnessblog site of james peyton (you may also know james as the founder of jwpodcast.
) even though this is a very serious topic, i tried to stay true to the humorous mood "tenny pajamas" always managed to maintain on his site.

religion does not allow the faithful to undergo the procedure, even in cases of emergency; the judge argues that the right to life overrides this.
It's almost certain the elderly patient has other issues, he may be semi conscious or confused, which pretty common when the elderly become sick...or in a diabetic comma.Perhaps dementia?
i should know the answer to this but my memory is failing big time.
our friend just called who is still in the cult.
he's been away from it for about five months now.
Sounds like he needs a restraining order on his son. I'm so sorry for him. It sounds like he's very vulnerable. I'd advise him to say he got the marriage annulled for spiritual reasons and deny the email...say he must have seen an old one since he keeps them all. Or at worst just say you emailed him.
He needs to learn ttatt fast if you ask me. And yes he can be DF brazen conduct covers all, although for emailing DF ones he should have a warning first.
i don't have time to look up a post that showed that the society has a circuit leasing site...........so here we go.
lol.
i looked up circuit leasing in my program "copernic" (ah what a wonderful thing) and i came up with a page that shows that not only are they in grand rapids, mi but they are also in 4 other states.
We in little old mother england have no idea of all this corporate stuff going on. Thinking its just a wee homespun bible loving egalitarian ....oh it breaks my heart I cant go on.
God religion is bullshit.
greetings, friends:.
today, i saw an old friend in town, and, after we got caught up and finally said our goodbyes, she asked me to pray for her.
family problems were eating her up.. how have you responded if and when you were asked this?
This is a fantastic thread as it's something that comes up often. By refusing to say we'll pray for someone, as agnostics or atheists, are we being like Lois Lanes father....letting our pride in our rightess get in the way of comforting a person in need? Or are ]we being hypocrites and taking the easy way out by saying yes to keep them happy, whilst in reality doing nothing?
For me, it depends on the circumstance and my relationship with the person. If I am very close to them I think I would take the time to explain my beliefs, but make sure I was there for them in body and spirit. If they were very Ill, or elderly, I would probably say to them I will do anything you ask and can I help practically too - that way allowing them to be comforted by the thought I will pray for them.
I'm sorry I'm so wishy washy Co Co, I guess Its just about putting the person first, and not letting ourselves be like the self righteous JW in LoisLanes example.
do any of the current governing body have academic qualifications?.
thanks.
paul.
I believe the only two converts are Losch and Morris. These two almost certainly would have completed high school. Morris of course is a Vietnam vet. Losch a waiter. I'm guessing the others, as born-ins possibly completed high school *at most*.
So there you have it. I think Morris converted latest so he's the only one who may have.
my first art job 1975 (a weird memory).
______ as a jw who woke up, i knew i had to leave texas and take my family with me or i'd be stuck in janitor jobs the rest of my natural life.
we drove in 1974 from texas to los angeles and my purpose was to get employment as an artist.
Back in the late 60's and 70's there was also available drugs which I'm sure enhanced and assisted with this extenuating imagination, both in artistic and ideological expressions, I know I was there.
Finky I'd love to meet you in person I bet you're a right bleedin' character!!
what happened after jesus zoomed up into the sky?for a while, he was expected to return rather quickly.in the meantime, there was the “great commission” and evangelism to be tended to.. the jesus believers were meeting in people's homes.
members of that community would take turns using private homes to gather.
thus, they went house to house.. these footstep tracers of jesus (they called themselves akolouthontes "followers" or some called themselves mathetai or "learners.
Garry Wills is one of my favorite writers on religion and/or politics.
His book, WHY PRIESTS?
Ordered on Amazon.
Sounds absolutely riveting
have the bethelites started cooking and doing their own washing yet?
how are they coping?.
paul.
You get notice. All bethelites get billed every month for “services” like phone calls. I call bullshit on the bill for fruit. The only exception would be if he were df’d. Then you are given a buss ticket and shown the door immediately, your possessions shipped to you later. Still no bill for food though.
Morpheus I believe they got notice of a few weeks, 3? But two months earlier a meeting was called and they were told they we're being" reassigned" probably to Bethels abroad to 'help out' there. It makes me wonder if they planned to lie to everyone as to what became of the "sacked" bethelites as:There was no indication whatsoever they were going to be laid off. This only two months before they actually were.
Regarding the fruit, there May have been a misunderstanding as he certainly doesn't strike as the sort of lad to lie, he certainly hasn't done so about anything else.
chapter 31. murder suicide and death at the big house.
the people at bethel were killing us spiritually and sometimes they killed us physically too.. many of the old timers were in the infirmary laying there just waiting to die of natural causes.
some had served there for over fifty years.
That poor sweet child. Nineteen. Serving his GOD. I imagine going awol must have been a huge deal....surely they could see he must have been desperate. GOD help his parents if they ever woke up, which is doubtful.
I wonder if Wheelock felt remorse about his colleague who was stabbed in his place? Or if he just woke up?
