Some more background information on Geoffrey Jackson

born in 1955 jacko was baptized at 13 years of age in 1968.his life story, printed in the august 2015 watchtower doesn't state the year in which he married, it's fairly general when talking about it.

hmmm, i wonder why?i've come across a recording of an interview with jacko at a hall dedication in another part of the us in 2009 which provides some further information.he married his first wife, jenny, in 1974 at the grand old age of 19. no wonder they didn't want to print it in the watchtower.unfortunately his first wife, jenny, was diagnosed with cancer in 1999.in 2003 jacko was sent a letter from the gb stating he was being transferred to hq and his wife would be given appropriate work.

he initially didn't know why they were being called to hq as he felt they were being very productive in their fijian paradise, he states that they brought 75 people into the truth.

But the point about GB meetings is interesting too...I've sat in elders meeting where an elder with a dominant personality will get his way yet it is perceived as "Holy Spirit"...seems true of the GB, I can imagine tight pants Tony getting his way at GB meetings and yet Jackson would think it is indeed Holy Spirit.

Exactly, I think that's where Jackson's " what happened there" statement comes from, I imagine the more reasonable types heading in a moderate direction when WHAMO in wades Toni with some extremist nonsense which of course wins the day.

Agreed. Polynesians age well so she is probably older than she looks, too, I think she's no more than maximum 15 yrs younger...they worked together, remember.

( I also guessed he'd been chosen in part for his large number of conversions. They think J has been" blessing" his ministry but Polynesians are crazy religious and he was always going to make a killing in that regard).

Why Jehovah witnesses don't say, "Bless you" ?

bless you, that was a big sneeze you let out sister.. sister- ah, what does "bless you" mean?.

oh, it's pagan.

because people bless the soul of the person so they don't escape from their physical bodies.. sister- right, it is difficult to change the little things, but we can please jehovah by staying away from those things.. .... this is a scenario that happened when i accidentally (naturally) said "bless you" to the jw sister.

Dbq407 to try and set themselves off as being different than people who are non witnesses. Any little thing they can use to say "hey we are different than every other religion".

Bingo, we have a winner, Ladies and Gentlemen!!

The above statement pretty much covers everything.

Which is why saying that their religion is no different to any other religion is the most offensive thing you can say to a Witness!

many who now post here are new to the forum and i felt it was necessary to honor his memory.

although i never knew him, his brother was my roommate for a time at watchtower farms.

i remember my mother teaching me that a conscience was like an alarm in my head that would warn me when i'm on the verge of doing something immoral.

if i ignored the beeping, the batteries would run out.

Isn't it terrible that if you take jw theology to its logical conclusion we would all kill ourselves and our children because you're never sure you're doing enough for ~~the Organization~~ Jehovah to make it through Armageddon and at least you and your children would get resurrected that way.

2017 Memorial Partakers

While this is just my hypothetical take, I would bet good money that the increase in Memorial Partakers is still in the U.S., and perhaps even among younger white men in positions of privilege of whom the current members of the Governing Body might even find threatening. This would account for the reason of stating these "new" partakers may have "mental issues,"

Dismiss as "foolishness" No way! For that would involve admitting the GB st some point were wrong and that they will never do!

2017 Memorial Partakers

My recollection is that the greatest number of anointed remnant were in pre-war Germany in the 30s. Thus Hitler was used as a Satanic attack on Christ's brothers. Don't have the time (or interest) to go back and find the reference now.

That wouldn't surprise me, but Germans in General seem to be particularly attracted to this religion....I guess it's the control/authoritarian issue.

David_Jay mentions the amount of American "anointed" and the American sense of entitlement; that blaming 3rd world converts for increases in anointed is a convenient red herring. That very well may be, although to be fair it is an American religion so there's that.

Despite a perceived elitism Americans suffer from an inverse sort of "racism", for want of a better word. What I mean is, we all chortle at the Mormons: at the PREPOSTEROUS idea that America should be God's chosen country. I think there's a similar bias when it comes to the absurdity that a majority of anointed are American....I mean really, a 200 year old country ??!

But why ever not?? I mean why isn't it any more ridiculous that all our prophets come from Isreal? Why isn't it just as silly as Moses being Egyptian?

Why do we talk about "real" anointed ( read old) and "fake" anointed (read young). I mean apart from the fact most of these "old faithful" ones where anointed when young anyways. Why don't we laugh off our chair that Moses was an old Isrealite/Egyptian any more than a young American, like Joseph Smith?

An old guy can have had a very comfortable life thankyouverymuch, and be called "faithful". Equally a young person may have been immensely tested in their short life....yet not considered "faithfull" enough to be anointed and taken seriously.

What I'm trying to say is old, young, from Ur, Isreal or America...either consider it all as likely or consider all as unlikely.

I wonder if their are any parents of theses children on here now .May 22 1994

i know it could be a sensitive subject however we were all once firm believers and could have very well let one of our loved ones die due to what we once believed.. and not to be judgemental on what we would have done or did do in the past ,i sometime wonder if any of the parents or even one parent of the children of the may 22nd 1994 magazine of "youths who put god first " have now regretted their decision to let their children make this decision on their own.. after all these years i find it hard to believe that not one of them have no regrets to what happened to their child.. i can also accept that it would be extremely hard to admit that you allowed your child to make a decision to die on a belief you instilled in them that you no longer now believe in.

i think that would be very hard to live with and come to terms with.. if any of you are here my heart goes out to you because you have gone through hell and my thoughts/vibes are with you..

No one should have the right or power to tell another how to live his life.

Not blood, But I do have a confession to make, I've never put my life story on the boards for this reason.My first son from my first marriage, well, his father kidnapped him, took him from me, because of my determination to go back to" the truth".

I found him( in another country) years later but my son never wanted to come back ( I was still indoctrinated at that stage, too). So effectively my son became motherless because of my stupidity, and as his father was a bully and an alcoholic ( I went from an abusive religion to an abusive husband and back to the abusive religion) I subjected MY son to that, too. I have a lot to answer for.

Edited to say,: his father was raised Catholic, went to an elite Christian Brothers school ( Jesuits), where a lot and I mean A LOT of abuse took place. Consequently my husband hated organized religion. He happens to be right on that point.

The Christian Brothers have since apologized for the treatment of their charges, some of whom are famous and brought it all to public notice. Google it if you're interested.

Dan Sydlicks wife seems a decent sort.

I've always thought the Australian sister (? Barber) so funny when she says

" because the END WAS SO NEAR BACK THEN!!" (referring to the need to find a hubby to get her through the big A.)

and everyone laughs, whether through embarrassment or because they know "the end SOON" is BS who knows?
