The fact that everyone has had such different experiences just goes to show how inconsistent the "holy spirit" is! However the very fact its is LISTED amoung disfellowshipping offences in the S.T.F.O.G. book goes to show it is veiwed with disapproval, not compassion, in the Watchtower.

In theory, can one be disfellowshipped for attempted suicide?
by Saename inso i was recently reading the reasons for disfellowshipping as listed in shepherd the flock of god.
the handbook is available online here: https://thetruthofjehowaswittness.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/jehovas-vitner.pdf.. on page 59, point #4, it lists attempted suicide as a reason for disfellowshipping.
has it ever been removed?

"Armageddon is already here"; "the preaching work is done" -- rogue teachings in your congregation?
by FatFreek 2005 inone of my jw sons seems to be putting pressure on his non-jw brother apparently to scare him into accepting the troof and start coming to meetings.
wild statements like our topic title, which i know are not supported at jw dot org, have been made to my non-jw son several times over the past year or so.
while i haven't been privy to the actual phone conversations i tend to believe that the jw son is being pressured by the local elders to cut ties with the non-jw since their conversations seem to degrade into arguments -- therefore tending to weaken the jws faith in wt teachings.. either my jw son is lying about what i would call rogue teachings (and this would disappoint me greatly) or he is in some close knit clique in his congregation which has secretly chosen to go rogue on certain wt issues.. based on many of the recent posts here about drastic money and wt organization problems this could be a sign of pending splits of certain congregation members.. what do you think?

Watchtower is, as usual, talking out of both sides of its mouth as they HAVE been allowing people to give talks saying the preaching work is done. Probably to frighten folks into staying. One guy stated it was done with the exception of a couple of rogue states ( mentioning 3 countries: North Korea, Saudi Arabia and I think Sudan?) and that the people there " bear collective responsibility" for essentially letting such rulers have power!!! Never mind that they are totalitarian dictatorships or religious monarchies who own the country etc

Orphan Crow You get a like from me! It's visually interesting so something the media would definitely pick up on.
you and the broken kite are correct, focusing on Watchtowers treatment and attitude to women and children is a great idea....especially in terms of attracting media attention. It also ties in with issues around treatment of CSA and rape victims, too, and again targeting interested parties would garner more support and media exposure for any protests.
Perhaps having A. one issue to focus on in a protest is the best idea. Also B.itineraries or a programme for the day? These seem to be two areas of future improvement.
It would also be wonderful to co ordinate protests at other branches - such as Poland, Australia and the UK - to give those who can't travel to the US a chance to participate.

There were only about 40 protesters there, not anywhere near the 100 previously reported here.
If the organizers had had a reputation for being a bit more inclusive perhaps they would have had more folks turn up?
Also sounds like any future protests could do with your input the broken kite and others who may have experience in this area, perhaps even hiring some advisors?
When they broke up to go to HQ, it seriously felt like we were being dismissed from the meeting for field service to go out into the field. The GB apostate guy even quoted scriptures and made application.
Ugh.

A woman without a voice

i hope some of you can relate.
if you can..i would love to hear from you.. i have been crushed and heartbroken more times than i can recount by a religion that claims to be based totally on love and mercy and most of that harm has come from the so called "shepherds" who or are supposed to lovingly take the stray lambs in their arms and lead them gently back to safety.

I'm sorry to hear of your suffering. You tried your very best to be a good partner, mother and Christian. You did what you thought was the right thing at the time, and that's all we can ever do but, of course, in the Watchtower trying your best is never good enough...and the meek, the gentle, those without ego feel it the most and become depressed when they can't be superwoman and fix the whole world!!
Woman without a voice is a good title because really no woman has a voice in Watchtower, except through her husband, it's like going back to those cruel ancient societies that had no use for women except to be slaves or produce babies. Why do we tolerate it? Usually because we are attracted to the loving message of Jesus, yet for all their bluster Watchtower has nothing of that. Sadly, even if they are kind men, elders MUST be company 'whips' first and foremost...and like parliament if they fail in that task the 'whip' is taken away from them and they are cast out.
I don't know what to suggest about your sister and husband except if you wish to help them, especially your husband who seems, if I read you right, to be almost bullied, never state facts but use the Socratic method of posing questions, such as: I was wondering why the Isrealites held their courts at the city gates, so nothing would be hidden from all men....I wonder why does the bible say we MUST have JCs in secret with 3 elders? What if a bible study asks to know where it says that in the Bible ? etc etc
Anyway I'm glad that you have come here and I'm sure many of us can relate.I too had an abusive first husband who would drink and throw me and my baby son out but was told the answer was pray and go in service more!

When I was a young man a 18 old girl I knew was raped then dfd for it. I thought this was just a crazy case of 3 elders just being insane so I stayed in the cult. If I would of known that this is a common practice I would of left over 20 years ago and my kids would not have been raised in this evil cult.
crazy guy hits the nail on the head with this, and it's why letting them know that these issues are NOT isolated incidents in their hall or 'imperfect men' but institutionalized problems.

Guys who was the guy on the original posted video " Tuesday", he seemed to have come up with the concept of the VAA, can anyone tell me more about him as he mentions 5th Nov 2017...why?Was it random?
He also says he's a pro wrestler, don't worry I don't want to stalk him!
