I had to post this here as I thought it was really funny.
Even Morph, I think, would have to agree it's quite entertaining!

i often wondered how far back the witnesses had been involved with my family.
my grandmother died at the end of 2013 and while going through her photos we found some of my great-grandmother, dora, who was born in 1901 and died in 1994. there is a photo of dora dated 1946 standing outside her house in east riding, yorkshire.
on the back of the photo her husband had written "in a human moment before jehovah grabbed her".. my great grandfather, who died before i was born, did not like the witnesses.
Oh truthseeker I am totally blown away by your poignant and beautiful story. The family snapshot is stunning and so natural...your grandfather was a handsome and talented chap! Have you framed his drawings? There is something quite timeless about artwork from this period, the 20s/30s are perhaps the most stylish era ever. I would also love to see your grandmother's work, too Did she keep up her art after her baptism? If so I wonder if it changed at all.
I recall John Lennon saying that there is a whole celestial warehouse of work never created on Earth because of heroin.
The same could be said for Watchtower. I imagine a whole warehouse full of music and art-forms on another time-plain never made by creative people who became witnesses😢
What an intriguing family history you have! Artists, heart-ache and cults...I hope your great-grandmother was not shunned by her zealous baby daughter from the photo, in later years. Of course shunning was not a thing when your great-grandmother and grandmother were baptised.
I've noticed there seem to be a lot of Witnesses from Yorkshire. I wonder if it just that my own connection, despite being from the Home Counties, was with Leeds witnesses that I notice this. I would be interested to know whether there are any statistics showing numbers of Witnesses from what regions in the UK. I expect only Watchtower would hold such information.
go to jw.org and watch some of the caleb and sophia videos in solomon islands pidgin language.
hilarious!.
Hahaha their ancestors were kidnapped and enslaved and forced to purge their pagan ways (including their language) and embrace Jesus and English in order to advance European/Anglo-American empire. And they still speak English so funny. It's cute. Hahahaha." 🤔🤔🤔
I think you'll find there are no descendants of slaves on the Solomon islands. These melanesian and Polynesian folks ancestors' found their way to the islands with incredible navigational skill all on their own (using their balls in the water to detect cold/warmer currents indicating land mass, too!).
If Watchtower was really interested in translation they would do so in to the many tribal languages. It's as absurd as translating English in to English with a heavy SCOTTISH ACCENT!!!

Mummy issa good-good obey-im big daddi
*we are making fun of the fact it's not a language that requires translation. Watchtower does so to increase their "look how many languages we translate in to" bragging rights.
That is what is so absurd.
fantastic news!

what a busy couple of days!
So Mike and Kim have the UK radio broadcast where they talk about the MP bringing up Watchtower CSA issues in parliament. In fact they interview Marc and Cora Latham about it. Just thought I'd post the broadcast here if anyone is interested. Apparently the radio show was inundated with responses to their initial broadcast discussing the issue.
Certainly no one in the UK at least who has any contact with our press can fail to know now about jw's and their widespread peadophile issue. It's going to kill the D2D/cart ministry, the public are now forewarned.

Xanthippe This Charities Commission enquiry into whether the JWs should have their charity status removed and start paying tax because of their appalling child safeguarding record has been going on since 2013! It's time the government stepped in!
Wonder if this happens, Xanthippe, whether they will move all UK operations elsewhere in order to avoid as much taxable income in the UK as possible? Leaving just local, legally autonomous Kingdom Halls?
Maybe someone knowledgeable could comment?
If this happens I believe the already shrinking, UK Witness population will rapidly go into a really terminal decline.
................for all their sinners - but make it mandatory that all j.w.
alleged criminals are promptly reported to the relevant authorities.
problem solved.
Trying to pin them down on non-reporting is very difficult as they lie about it, deny it and cover it up.
The reason we focus on the two witness rule is because we have them on record, and in print, that they will take an allegation of CSA no further due to this policy.
It also leads to victims being silenced within the community and/or being forced to face their abuser.
The real issue is Witness Culture of no individual's suffering being more important than the reputation of the organization.
hi everybody.i am new to this forum.i have grown up as a christian in a christian family, but i recognized that jehovahs are more positive about peace on earth.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this fella in his “sleepingbag on the beach in Marseillan Plage” building websites...
Did the Jehovahs offer to charge your laptop battery or bring you a generator? That would have been swell of them. You gotta be careful not to get beach sand in your keyboard. It makes the keys stick.
I was thinking about doing some website building on the beach myself, can you give me a tip on what kind of connection you find best. I was going to buy a 1000ft piece of fiber but I still need some hardware with that.
He used to be on a beach in a sleeping bag - he didn't say he is now - you're obviously not too good at reading comprehension.
I know we get our fair share of true blue conservatives on this site, but surely you must know that it's possible for hippies to become successful? I'm sure Richard Branson slept on his fair share of beaches when he was young.
And even if he doesn't become a website designer...even the homeless can dream, can they not? Or are dreams only for rich, privileged kids now?

What a busy couple of days! But great news, it looks like the ridiculous “Two Witness Rule” Will be raised in parliament in a few weeks time! #NoMoreSilence #AgainstCSE #ForTheKids
You can catch it on Twitter @loopyloupalmer
All credit goes to Louise for her brave stand in waiving her right to anonymity in order to expose Watchtower's evil two witness rule. Her abuser was given a 15 year sentence reduced to 10, and the link to her story was posted on here a few days ago by our own Darkspilver.
i was walking out of the store and i passed a former jw associate of 20+ years.
"keith"he was an elder, got df'd, lost his wife, got reinstated and last i heard started pioneering!so i see him as i'm walking to my parking spot.. i stop, look him straight in the face and yell from 20 feet away, "you're in a cult.
you're in a cult, dude!".
If you want to try and reason with them
Good for you!
If you want to just get on with your life
Good for you!
If you want to yell It to them straight!
Good for you!
To each, their own. We have all suffered enough to have the right to do what feels best!
