i feel that there aren’t many of that type anymore, but there have to be some – mostly old-timers.

how do they study?.

when i was active, i collected all the old publications i could find.

Plus I have three girl-friends in the circuit that I really like. They've taught me a lot about life and are so freaking hot. If it wasn't for them, I would know nothing about sex. They are all older than me and the oldest one (28) years old is the one that had taught me everything. She is a wild freaking pioneer that has made me confident with the opposite sex.

So for me personally, I love going to the Kingdom Hall. I'm not going anywhere, even if dad and mom slow down.

I'm guessing your about 15 and that twenty eight year old winked at you during the Watchtower study.

Everything is simplified these days ( plus 6 mags for the public for next 2 years then repeated ad nauseam) .

They don't want to say too much regarding doctrine these days, as they know it will only get them in trouble....people just make mincemeat of their silly ideas.

I think ( correct me if I'm wrong) Watchtower CD goes back to 1980?? Rarther convenient.

Hi Magnum We used to go over and study all the old Watchtowers, too. That's where we got all our potty ideas..... like aluminium being dangerous to cook in and the heart being the seat of your emotions LoL!!

I know if you use a quote from an old Watchtower as a rebuttal to their doctrine modern JWs just switch off, they don't consider it relevent to them today.

But neither does it occur TO them that if Watchtower was wrong back then....it could be wrong now, too!!

Unbelievable KMS example

i've been to the kingdom ministry school (for elders) recently and can report that it is mostly the usual mix of cliches and platitudes.

several letters where basically just read through one line at a time.

one point early on though almost made me laugh out loud.

You go back and forth between the org being gone today or the org hanging around for decades and slowly declining.

He goes back and forth between the Org( and other churches) full stop!!😂😂

Apathy and of course Scandals!

i remember as a young dub, being told by others and particularly from the platform that apathy was the number one enemy and in many ways i think that's true today.

people are seeing a change from the 70's - 80's (the last time the end 'felt' close to many) and now the witnesses are in a rut.

the society seem to have backed off from making bold claims and instead seem to be trying their best to retain the members they have as opposed to trying to gain attention of others as they did in the formative years of the religion when they wore sandwich boards - throw in the growing spotlight on child abuse issues and you've got yourself a religion that's trapped in a purgatory of sorts - the majority of long time members will stay in the religion and die in the religion but as time goes on i think are clearly losing interest and the 'fiery passion' that used to be so obvious before and outsiders just arent interested as there are better, more interesting things to do.

What precisely is the point of the UK Chelmsford branch? With no printing and all video content coming from the US, what will they all be doing there?

So they maybe need a Service dept. and legal/child abuse dept. to keep the dwindling publishers in line, but I guarantee that puppy will be sold off within the next 20 years, and within 50 years there will be virtually no UK Jehovahs Witness congregations left. Maybe some in the major cities but that will be it at most.

after all, he made the promise to jehovah that he would "offer up as a burnt offering" on his return the first thing to come out of his house if jehovah would give the ammonites into his hands in battle, and since they were this makes jehovah complicit.. the isrealites had been getting a good thrashing of late, and the gilead elders (oh boy) had come out to ask jephthah, the rejected son of a prostitute (wouldn't you know it) and renown soldier, if he would lead the isrealites into battle for them.. this is when jephthah makes the deal with jehobo, and it all centres on the word for "burnt offering", which is given as "olah".

Neaty B.Plus, the NWT is the only Bible I know of that says that people would thereafter go to "give commendation" to Jepthas daughter. Every other Bible I've seen including the original Hebrew says that they would go to 'mourn' her.

Outrageous example of changing The meaning totally. NWT is not a translation just another piece of their propaganda.

The particularly rambling point I was trying to make, too, was that Jehovah really was complicit in the whole thing, which is why Jehovahs Witnesses are so keen to outright change the Bible translation.

Yup, Judges is a particularly unpleasant work of fiction.

I fear, though, there May be some element of truth to some of the stories.

Interestingly when it comes to making online contributions to the cong, a 3rd party * JW privately owned company* deals with these! I wonder how much they have or had to pay Watchtower for a piece of that action. Nepotism played a part, too, no doubt.There's a Mike and Kim vid somewhere on the subject.

CoCo You made me laugh! Compression stockings! Tell your friend due to the sports resurgence there are now some very funky looking compression stockings for sale...even medical ones, if he just puts it in the search bar lots will come up, LoL!
