Wozza You must have had it rough jp.
His passion comes from the fact he cares.
so i'm at work and go to my vehicle parked outside the empty property i'm working at and an elderly man comes out of next door and we recognise each other from when we were elders in the same circuit.
he is early 80's in age, a jw since the 1960's and so the next generation in age up from me.. he's an outwardly jolly sort and asks how i am etc.
(knows i'm not an elder but thinks i'm pimi) and asks if i want a cup of tea so i go in and sit in his kitchen for my lunchbreak and have a chat.. i have a little fish around and ask about how jw's in his hall are.

Him Laughing) I dunno - when you were a kid you had to be evacuated from (CITY) because of the German bombing. My Aunt lost her job when her department store got flattened!
Him: That's true! You do make me smile Freddo!
Bless him, you reminded him of his youth, carefree days ( before he became a dub. Before he grew old, too)
Him tells me how it's going - the son - walking stick heavily overweight - depressed not holding down a job. Daughter - Depressed - her husband not working has M.E.
This breaks my heart. Someone should do a study on it, it's GOT to be the religion, it takes away your drive, the authentic you.
i think it is inevitable.
i don't worry about it but it just seems that the human race is going down a road that they can't make a turn off.. they are probing/discovering how the human mind works and produces intelligence down to the individual molecule.
now with the invention of the super quantum computer soon we will be able to build even better artificial intelligence greater than our own, so it will be easily able to out smart us because will we be a bunch of dumb apes first discovering how to make fire in it's eyes.. it will have it's own different agendas than us humans.
Absolutely. If only because they will have the capacity to spend the long years alive required for deep space travel.
One day we, or descendents something like us, will have to leave this beautiful planet of ours. To do that will require a lot of research, and the ability to work in environments present humans would never survive - like the extreme cold of space. For example if we have to build some kind of biosphere, either on another planet or orbiting one. The strength and resistance to radiation, for example, would make AI's ideal to carry out this type of project.
They will come. We need them too much.
take it away, bleed it, give it back.. reading about the gingerbread man reminded me of this:.
how irrational the society could be was experienced by the sister-in-law of ex-bethelite william (bill) cetnar when .... at the suggestion of her veterinarian, she had a blood transfusion given to her poodle to prolong its life.
she couldn't believe bill [cetnar]when he told her that the society would say she had violated god's law.
I used to be a veterinary nurse before I became a JW and an elder told me I would have to account to God for all the animals I helped put to sleep. That preyed on my mind the whole time I was in.
So I presume this elder was a vegetarian? Didn't think so...
Sometimes I really do think jws are like Winnie-the-pooh who lamented he was "really a bear of little brain"
so jehovah the bronze age deity god of the nation of bc israel.
next he's the god of the whole world even outer space,, as man's understanding of the earth increases past the bronze age so does jehovah's greatness.
the watchtower interpretation of scripture presupposes what they know about the world today or perhaps only what their thick brains know about the world today,, because they have this evil fixation about science and higher education being a tool of the devil to draw people away from the real truth found in the bible, their knowledge is very limited and back to the 1800s.. much to the chagrin of the watchtower corporation jehovah's godship has been significantly reduced due to what science can now tell about a probable multiverse.
Mind. Blown!
I have a big smile on my face at the thought of all these alternate realities...so maybe in one I became the cartoonist or choreographer I should have been!
chapter 52. what if albert was right?.
i like what w.c. fields said, when they asked him what he believed in.
“i believe in a lot of things.
Always thought the only religious thinking that lines up with science in any way is Buddhism....the cycle of life is reincarnation by any other name. Wouldnt it be wonderful to Write and direct an infinite variety of life stories to live? Now that would be pretty near to paradise for me!
one word for it.....apostate!
!.
It can easily be proven that David Splane charted the course to 2075. Who would call him an apostate?
Well true, but only if the person lived to be 93 and was baptised when he was 10 or younger! Because remember, some of the generation have to be alive* ( Franz, the example, lived to 1992)
*edit: when big A happens, & they had to be contemporaries of the first lot
https://ww2.kqed.org/news/2017/12/16/a-former-jehovahs-witness-shares-her-metoo-story/.
when i was 23 years old, i started dating a (jehovah’s) witness boy and we’d go out to some dance clubs.
there was a night in particular where i had too much to drink.
Fred franztone Jwundubbed is not talking about merry drunk or even plastered drunk, but unconscious drunk!
Stating women, in whatever state, should consent to sex is not an "agenda".
my grandfather is a longtime jw with advanced parkinson's.
on the advice of a good friend mine who is inactive but not "out" i went to visit him monday and we talked for awhile.
his health isn't well, but he was happy to see me.
He seemed almost... proud of me for going to college and trying to do something useful with my life.
The Parkinson's is destroying the years of indoctrination and his "authentic self" is shining through.
