  so i have started down the path of trying to understand evolution, and to get the linear lies that the jws planted in my head out of it.

  i bought an audiobook called "evolution: what the fossils say and why it matters" by donald prothero.

  i heard it recommended on an atheist podcast that i listened to.

  I would suggest reading "A Short History of Nearly Everything" by Bill Bryson. It is entertaining and nontechnical but gives a good overview of how we got here.

  Brillian book. It's a must-read.

However, in the male, if they inherit an x chromosome that carries the genetic illness, they don't have another x chromosome to pick up the job and correct for the defective chromosone

  Totally makes sense . I never thought about why it is boys seem to inherit most of the worst genetic defects, or do so more often anyway. It's probably why more baby boys are born, yet more baby girls survive.

  E cart witnessing on our way to see Shen Yun in San Francisco

  today, i took the day off to go with my husband to san francisco on bart to see shen yun.

  coming out of the station, were two elders at a watchtower cart!

  my husband loves to witness to them.. started off with a smile and they smiled back and he told them he had been associated with jehovah's witnesses and now he is not but he wishes to tell them that even though they are going to hear things that are upsetting in the news, there is life after jehovah's witnesses.. they smiled and asked him if they could ask what religion he has gone to, or what he is doing now.

  Cha ching I just wanted to congratulate you...Good job the both of you!

  I must say it kinda irritates me that the elders give themselves permission to listen, but the sisters..oh no! I mean I realize the elders were approached first, but as you say they did listen. Plus elders get to see behind the curtain to some extent. Is it any wonder it's usually the man who wakes up first?

  How was Shen yun? I'd love to go at some point, tis very pricey but looks amazing!

  so according to the law department's meeting in feb 2016, russia has been studying the linguistics of the watchtower articles and discovered its brainwashing abilities!.

  lol it's funny now that i'm on the russian side of this debate now, ban them all!.

  Is "my book of bible stories" extremist? Yes! If you are giving it to 6 year olds it is!!!

  NB I think the Russian gov't women the Watchtower legal guy was posing that question to: " is my book of bible stories extremist?", when she answered, not knowing the content of that specific book, was answering generally that all Watchtower literature uses subliminal messaging (not put well)to mind control people.

  Lloyd Evans picked up on that and showed the head of the legal department actually describing what linguistics study entails. He actually said that they will look at a book etc and if the language used is such that someone will be "mind controlled" by the end of it, then that is extremist literature and *that* is how they determined whether an organization is extremist; essentially whether their literature brainwashed people.

  Guess what? Yup, Watchtower literature passed the mind controll test with flying colours!!! I couldn't believe it! That he actually told his jw audience this is why Russia shut Watchtower down. That was the reason. He said this type of linguistic study is unknown over here but roll on, bring it on I say if this is the result!

  Dubby I'd like to understand how "macro" is still occurring or if it is. Did large changes end with us?

  Nothing ends with us. There is no "end game" for evolution...hence Richard Dawkins "Blind Watchmaker", a play on words from the paper by William Paley, whereby he finds a watch in the midst of a forest and argues that since there is a watch, there must be a watchmaker.

  Otwo-ty !But if you are interested in seeing speciation in life that is a bit less complicated than animals, there are flowers and other plants that have been documented to evolve a bit quicker into separate species.

  I believe fruit flies are the classic ones. Because their life cycle is so quick, I believe biologists have done various studies which back up evolutionary theory. ( again, I'm an amateur so feel free to correct me everyone)

  Dubby Macro would occur when new species evolve.

  I believe that's called Speciation.

  It sounds like you would like some specifically scientific books. Perhaps a university undergraduate course on evolutionary biology's recommended reading list or coursework books would be a good place to start?

  I love a book called " Your inner Fish"by Neil Shubin. Its Just a fun layman's book, though.

  @WingCommander Lol, it's pretty unusual for celebrities to appear on the cover of Hustler (every cover girl is featured in an open-legged pictorial inside). Best bet is, it's just another adult model.

  Hey Wakey Jo-Ho my best JW friend baptised jw sister appeared in hustler - she's quite popular on the vintage porn sites by all accounts. She was DF after that of course, but was already awake. I can pm you her name if you like. She woke up at university, and she went by her married name any way so it won't reveal anyone's id. Her parents *never* shunned, thank goodness, and her mother would always say to me " I don't understand this arrangement because there's something good about that girl"

  She was totally right, of course, because she really was/is a special person.

  Actually the chart isn't too far off, there is a third group of anointed, that co-incide with your third group in position except they're not - yet - part of "this generation".

  We shall see if all that changes in about 40 years, when i'm pretty sure they replace the current one with yours!
