  Now this really is a made up story by a man.

  A mother is in labour ALONE with her 6 year old boy and she tells him to fill the basin with hot water in the bathroom...so the boy can help his mother have a wash??? (Then he's "monitoring the labour" ?!!)

  i just finished looking through the circuit overseer manual, so here are some highlights.

  first up, regarding circuit assemblies:.

  if a brother is so extremely overweight that others would be distracted if he had a part on the program, good judgment would need to be used in deciding whether to give him an assignment.

  Iwantoutnow I was left on my own. My PO took most of the crap, since he also approved it, and he had to read a Letter at a Meeting stating how Sorry we were for doing it.

  The PO has to go on bended knee in front of the cong for agreeing to a family group - something for families shock horror - that was actually successful.

  Disgusting. Yet no high up says sorry for allowing child abuse to flourish, or lying to members about donations.

  Solzhenitsyn I admire your honesty. And yes The “straps” are very suggestive.

  I too spoke up on many occasions about kids being beaten ( even babies) in the Kingdom Hall. I found it shocking. Witnesses would almost be in competition to beat their kids the most, as if they won brownie points for doing so.

  its the lazy way to teach, you are right Vidiot leading by example cannot be beaten and it truly comes out when you grow into an adult, which is when it really counts.

  for example, when puerto rico was devastated by a hurricane, wtc directed a large number of congregations to donate $1500 each in supplies that would be used for relief purposes.

  it is not known how many congregations took part in this effort but the feedback suggests it was in the hundreds.

  Finklestein please tell us about these corrupt JWs. In my experience very few JWs are generous. There is always one or two who take up the slack in every congregation. There are also quite a few ready to take advantage of guileless ones, too. Greedy JWs who own business yet pay their JW workers minimum wage. They also try to avoid paying any maternity leave or sickness, too.

  It seems no JWs are willing to question these “orders” from on high to liquidate donations. No one willing to stand and be counted and keeps all the “receipts” so when it goes public we can all see the proof.

  Is there any p.i.m.o.s willing to tell their story who as involved in this liquidation of donated goods?

  Maybe Paul Grundy could do a story on it on JWfacts since I’m sure p.i.m.o.s would trust him.

  staff in a takeaway were offended by two lesbians' full-on kissing and expressed their opinion about the behaviour.

  the lesbians complained to police that a "hate crime" was committed.. homosexual or heterosexual - do it in private, it's not a spectator sport or a public statement.. minority groups can invoke police action if they are "offended," but society in general cannot do likewise.. why has "being offended" been turned into a hate crime in the uk?

  I'm amazed that anyone on this board, having experienced shaming for our belief system and many of us knowing of gay people who have been the victims of violence in the home as young people, being thrown out, family ostracism and even suicide, cannot see this for what it is.

  If you read the link it seems pretty obvious to me it was the extremist Islamic religious ideology of the staff that was the issue.

  Vandy with all due respect even my year 8 kids could answer the multiple choice questions posed in the video (the two sitting at the desk). I'm absolutely gobsmacked that adults can hold such an event and think it does anything but make the questioner look foolish.

  Can a car turn into an airplane? You could ask Rolls Royce, I'm sure they could manage it pretty easily.

  watchtower's ignorance around the historical background to many biblical directives has had a very negative effect on the lives of witnesses.. for instance paul said women should cover their heads because in corinth prostitutes walked the streets plying for business with their heads uncovered.

  hence head coverings were never a symbol of headship but a directive very specific to that period, as was the blood directive!!.

  watchtower leaders have been lawyers, businessmen, civil servants and door-to-door book salesmen, never, ever historians or biblical scholars.

  Hi Peaceful Pete I just thought I ought to say that as far as I know it’s only the witnesses who assert this. “Because of the Angels” could equally mean to prevent the Angels from lusting after good Christian women the way they did in Noah’s time!!! There is no specific reasoning given in that (in English) ungrammatical non-clause. It could mean anything.
