It's the airport....how did they think deserting a well defended, well stocked, massive base with every piece of security tech at your fingertips in favour of evacuating from a small, civilian airport that's impossible to defend - with half the world's terrorists on your tail - was a good idea? And the military leaders just said "ok, that sounds like a plan!"....😳🙄.

The Stupidity Of The Biden Administration Knows No Bounds
by Simon inso picture this, you are suddenly withdrawing troops after 2 decades in a country and, well, its all gone to shit.. how do you ensure that your vulnerable citizens and allies can get out when the airport is surrounded and no one can get through?.
option 1: it's a trick question surely?
you don't get yourself into this mess in the first place - you withdraw the citizens first, not last, duh!.

Afghanistan-Kabul falls to Taliban - U.S. Embassy staff evacuated by helicopter
by fulltimestudent inin a scene reminiscent of the fall of saigon, the usa embassy staff have been evacuated by helicopter.. for a third time in asia ( a fourth, if you count usa supported chiang kai shek's defeat in mainland china) usa supported forces have been defeated.
more than 1 trillion dollars wasted and a huge deathtoll (both sides) afghanistan is back to where it started,.
will the taliban behave differently this time ?

In my daily reads I can cover newspapers from all around the world, so I get to see and understand what the world is thinking.
Hi Fulltimestudent I just wondered how do you this? Is it an App that you get a subscription to all the major papers? I've been looking for something like that.

Personification does not prove personality
by Longlivetherenegades ininsight book page 1019 volume 2. personification does not prove personality.. this is seen in the explanation given regarding jesus using he for the holy spirit.
that the holy spirit is said to do so many things like hearing, receiving speaking does not prove that holy spirit is a personality.
on that same page proverbs 8:1-36 was cited.

Waton I'm not quite sure what you mean? Perhaps I've misunderstood you, (or maybe you're joking?)If so, apologies!
But anyway I googled it and found this...
All human individuals—whether they have an XX, an XY, or an atypical sex chromosome combination—begin development from the same starting point. During early development the gonads of the fetus remain undifferentiated; that is, all fetal genitalia are the same and are phenotypically female

Allegheny Pyramid Desecrated
by RolRod insometime within the last 2 weeks, someone took a sledgehammer to the pyramid monument in allegheny.
they stole the topstone, smashed the cross and crown emblem and removed the seal.. personally i'm surprised it lasted this long untouched.
although through the years russell's grave has been vandalized, it was always repaired by the bible students..

agree Hermit ... although this monument is an embarrassing chapter in their history, I'm surprised the GB did not attempt to take it down and make it disappear like so many other embarrassments.
I think there's a reason for that.....someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the land is owned by the Bible Students (or the SDA church?) So Watchtower wouldn't have control of it to be able to remove it ( though I'm sure they'd love to!)
Desecration of anyone's grave is a crime and should be prosecuted as such.

The Canadian branch lawyer for Watchtower, David Gnam, lying in court when asked if Watchtower breaks up families through shunning.
Gnam stated "we don't call it shunning, we call it disfellowship or disfellowshipping" and "normal family relationships continue with the exception of spiritual fellowship".
Gnam was obviously refering to a husband and wife or minor children living together under the same roof. These are the only very specific situations in which (normally,) a disfellowshipped person will not be fully shunned (although we all know cases were they have). Other family members - mother's, father's, son's, daughters, sisters, brothers, grandparents, grandchildren, nieces, cousins and even minor kids not living with a parent, will all be shunned.
Gnam fully knew he was misleading the court and this was spiritual warfare

Truth is, all US Administrations from Bush to Biden have been dismal failures in Afghanistan for the simple reason they have not addressed the fundamental reason the Afghan Army proved so useless – corruption!
Whilst I'm sure this is true, I watched an interesting documentary where the senior soldiers on the ground explained one of the major reasons it was so difficult to get a grip on corruption was the fact that none of the Afgan soldiers could read or write Illiteracy rates are some of the worst in the world. For example when the US army delivered fuel to the Afgans, to be divvied out between each platoon, each Afgan commander responsible wouldn't know if he'd been allocated 1000 gallons or 100 gallons. He'd have to take whoever delivered it's word for it. This made it really easy for the middle man to siphon off a load of fuel and sell it to the population (who were desperate to get their hands on it).
Soldiers simply being able to read chits and write receipts ensures each unit gets what it is allocated.

Having never been an elder all I can do is commiserate and wish you all the very best. Sometimes it's just not possible to leave. But one thing I do know is this; if and when you do, you will never regret taking the following action :
Hybridous. The guy who's not out looking for everything else that everyONE else is doing wrong.
Just try to be that one great-guy Elder that despondent JWs need.
The guy who doesn't press Organizational hard-lines.
The guy who is just a kind, listening ear. Giving comfort when JWs feel like they can't give enough...(they can't!).
The guy who sides with mercy when on a JC.
The guy who can make Organizational life a little more bearable. Surely, you can see the value in that...
You are striving to strike a very delicate balance. I wish you well...

JWs are bigger and more successful than the Mormon church
by joe134cd injust saw the following you tube video.
it’s 3 hours long, but thoroughly interesting.
if you want to save yourself 3 hours, basically the active mormon church is about 3 million.

Even with that, JW Memorial attendance is similar to Adventist membership numbers at around the 20 million mark, which may be a fairer comparison than the stricter JW “publisher” count.
For once, Slim, I couldn't disagree more with you!
We know the kind of folks who get guilted into going to the memorial in order that their family doesn't completely shut them out. Or the polite neighbour who wants to keep an elderly friend happy.
Watchtower is probably having very similar issues to the Mormons at present. I would say the current figure Watchtower claims , which has remained at 8 million for I don't know how long, is wildly optimistic.
5 million fully invested members would be a more sensible figure.
JustAGuY If everywhere were Scotland we would all have cool accents, kilts and failed livers
🤣😂😭😭 I'm dying!

Have JEHOVAH ever supported WARS between his WORSHIPPERS?
by Longlivetherenegades injehovah's witnesses used to state other christian denominations go to war and in fact that their religious leaders bless such wars.
they see this as one reason why all other christian denominations are not true christians since they kill one another at war and therefore they don't love one another as stated by jesus in john 13: 34,35.. for example when a roman catholic go to war, he/she is bound to kill a fellow roman catholic in the cause of the war.
therefore roman catholic can't be true christians since its member don't love one another and kill one another at war and as such god cannot be in support of such wars where his worshippers kill one another.. the question that comes for consideration is, has jehovah ever supported wars between his own worshippers?.
