  Child sexual abuse suspect arrested in T.O.

  a 69-year-old thousand oaks man facing multiple sexual abuse charges by the ventura county district attorney’s office was arrested last week, authorities said.. steven skyler abbott was arrested dec. 6 after months of investigation into the reported sexual abuse of two thousand oaks girls, according to the ventura county sheriff’s office.

  in november, the ventura county district attorney’s office filed multiple felony sexual abuse charges against abbott, including two counts of continuous sexual abuse, one count of lewd acts upon a child and one count of forcible lewd acts upon a child.. he is also facing multiple felony enhancements and special allegations related to his charges.. the investigation began in september, when the sheriff’s agency received a report of suspected child crimes.. a 16-year-old victim alleged that she was sexually abused by abbott when she was between the ages of 5 and 11, sheriff’s officials said.. sexual assault unit detectives subsequently identified a second, 24-year-old victim who reported that abbott had abused her when she was between the ages of 3 and 7, authorities said.. the sheriff’s agency said the victims and their families had come into contact with abbott through the kingdom hall of jehovah’s witnesses in newbury park.. investigators submitted their findings to prosecutors, who filed felony sexual abuse charges against abbot on nov. 16, officials said.. on nov. 28, an arrest warrant was issued for abbott.. the suspect was eventually arrested at his home on dec. 6 and booked into ventura county jail.

  This dude looks familiar to me as well. Not sure where I've seen him. Maybe he's visited a congregation as an outside speaker where I attended...maybe he's been on a circuit or district part. His name also rings a bell!

  Smiddy On the other hand members of the Catholic and Protestant religions identified themselves without a doubt that prison officials and they could come and go as the need arose anytime of the day.

  And visit as many prisoners as they liked that would see them .

  Not so the JW`s.

  That was a big eye opener for me back then and I`m talking about 30-40 years ago.

  Smiddy3 Do you think that was because Watchtower could afford to be fussy back then ie there were many people coming in to the religion? It was probably their peak in terms of converts.

  Perhaps the prison ministry picked up later on, when Watchtower was searching for ways to boost numbers?? Any elders etc have any inside knowledge on that?

  Ray Franz took all the puzzle pieces that I kept finding down the back of the sofa and put the picture together for me.

  All those things that were bugging me during my indoctrination, the things that caused the dissonance peaked my curiosity to read the book. The rest is history.

  , at a fundamental level if he thinks it's OK and normal to use prostitutes then surely it's OK for his daughter(s) to be on the other side of that trade? If not, why not? Because I don't believe most people, even the ones trying to excuse it, really genuinely believe it's OK and normal, and what really drives that home is whether they would want their own daughter(s) doing it.

  Bingo!!! Give that man a medal someone!
  It's not about 'judgement' of sex workers, it's not about being 'prudes' or being unable to shake our 'typical JW prejudices'!

  It's about not having the hypocrisy to advocate for a way of life that you would never wish for your own loved ones - your daughters, sisters or mother's.

  Those girls are all somebody's daughter John Cedar's....

  I actually feel sorry for Will Smith. Although I empathise with alopecia sufferers, I think there's a reason Chris Rock made that joke.

  I think Jada is emotionally abusive toward will smith.

  Out of interest the Oscars have lost 50 % of their viewership.

  Most award ceremonies have dramatically lost ratings. People are fed up with the signaling.

  it appears to me that the zalkin firm eviscerates the gb's motion.

  in plaintiff's memorandum of law, it is clearly presented that the elements of hines' complaint are of the type protected by ny law against motions to dismiss.

  I think in this instance Lloyd was right. Interviewing an exjw who happened to have an Onlyfans account in the normal scheme of things wouldn't at all reflect badly on someone's child abuse campaigning. Not at all.

  Now calling out publicly whoever sent him the email, well, he has form in that and is the sort of thing that leaves a very unpleasant taste in the mouth. He attempted to do that with Kim and was actually the point of the car crash video he made. Aside from making money his main objective in that was to make Kim S a pariah.

  i’d like to marry my best friend of 30+ years, turned ‘secret’ girlfriend of 1 ½ years who is a jehovah’s witness, born into it, baptized and an active ‘pioneer’.

  our marriage would happen prior to letting any of her jw friends and cohorts know that we are together.

  once married she may simply come forward and ‘admit’ or we may wait until it’s found out – one way or the other, the reason for this marriage is not customary – i am hoping that by doing so she can avoid being ‘marked’ or possibly ‘disfellowshipped’ once our relationship is no longer a secret and due to our already being married at that point, there can be no notion from society elders about her ending the relationship.

  FedupJW Those are the EXACT words my father, who was an elder truly deserving of the term shepherd said. He was pretty well hated by other "elders" for his realistic take on Da Troof.

  These, for me, where the most dangerous people.....the ones that brought me in to the religion. The ones who were so utterly good that wherever they were, that is where I wanted to be. Not the doctrine. Not the social life. Wherever those saintly people where *had* to be where God was at.

  .......and speaking of which DATW, there's many a reason for a dub being a dub! Your girlfriend may, of courses have family she doesn't want to be separated from (not least her Son which I think some may have missed). One major reason your GF may be able to cope with her lifestyle is compartmentalisation. Its something all JWs do to a greater or lesser extent. It's a coping strategy she's learned over the years.

  I'm hoping the elders cut her some slack and make allowances for the lack of single brother right now (even Watchtower has made mention of it). If the Cong Is judgemental after your marriage, it may help to wake your wife up ,- as lack of love, rather than doctrine, is often the motivation for researching the religion in the first place.

  Neph87 I understand the heart wants what the heart wants but she could have informed the elders about your relationship and stayed away from fornication before you got married.

  Kind of this ^^^Of course, you guys could bite the bullet and actually invite the JWs to your wedding?!! Just bluff it out, act like the adults in the situation and say all are welcome but it's going ahead regardless....just an idea. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has experienced that and whether elders can actually forbid you from the religions point of view, to marry ? (supposing you're 'scripturally free' to do so).   Yes you definitely will not be required to divorce! I'm happy for you both ☺️(You seem like you have your head screwed on) with one proviso: Just be aware If you ever have kids there could be issues with how you raise them..... as you don't believe and she does. Because she will no doubt wish to raise them in. However since you both know each other so well I'm sure you'll work things out.

  As to problems post marriage the only issue will be when they take her in for a grilling (which they will). I would definitely advise going with her as her husband and you do the answering because - and I can guarantee this - they will ask her if you consummated your relationship before marriage....

  ......and how often.

  ........And what ya did....😳Yup.That's how they roll.

  As a believer she will struggle to lie and if she admits what she's done she will be disfellowshipped (not for marriage but for sleeping with each other prior to marriage). If you guys deny this you should be golden. They may take away her pioneer privileges for a bit, but they'll soon be reinstated.
